If anyone is eligible for spectre status out of the squadmates I'd say it's Garrus and Samara. Garrus because he was once considered for spectre status along with many other Turians in the military. Samara because of her many years of experience working in the Justicar order. Though working as an agent not bounded by laws and regulations may prove difficult for her at first.

Perhaps Mordin also considering his work in the STG, which is said to be similar to the Spectres.

Speaking of which, I'd really like to meet OTHER spectres in ME3. The only one I know of apart from Shepard is Saren Arterius.

wasn't it also said, that there are not many Spectres? Another reason why they shouldn't just make Kaidan or Ash Spectre but stick with people that stand out.

huh, weird! forum monster ate half of my post :o:blink:
I had typed way more than that! :blink::blink::blink:
Basically, I said that Shep has that leadership aura no one else has and that's the reason why people follow him/her. And neither Kaidan nor Ash can equal up to that.
So my post got mixed up by whatever forces rule this forum software

Ahh... okay.  That, I can kinda understand.  Shepard is like... the most persuasive, charismatic person in the galaxy or somewhat.  Kaidan and Ashley are leaders, as designated by their ranks, but they aren't shown to be nearly as proficient in their leadership roles (which may have changed in two years, but since we haven't seen it... well...).

Although Kaidan and Ashley do have the unusual power to RESIST Shepard's aura, as displayed on Horizon.  Which is pretty darn impressive, if you ask me.

I'm not trying to offend anyone here but I just don't see Ash as a leader. Kaidan, yes, he could command respect, but Ash is too abrasive to be an effective leader. thats just my opinion anyway.

Actually Baal I think you would be surprised how many renegades we have here... Okay but I am not one so... I think it could, but It would depend of course.  I just can't see how it would work out though, because there are some of us who are paragon, how do you let Kaidan / Ash go after half the players that were pro Cerberus and then work witht the half that weren't pro Cerberus. I don't see how it can work.

hehe, but imo Renegade doesn't automatically mean pro-Cerberus :-)
You may be right on the decisions front, though. So far it hasn't had much effect on the overall story. However the end of a trilogy is different than the "bridging" second part. You don't really have to worry about continuation. That's what I'm hoping for, that this time they take things into account and that the decisions I've made actually have an impact on the story. Even though I liked it, I want to get more than an approving E-Mail from TIM next time I made a decision like I did in Overlord and I want it to make a difference whether I kept or destroyed the base.

I also hope that my decisions influence the LI plot. For example, Jack hates Cerberus and the experiments they made and I hope she doesn't just stands there silently nodding when I' working with Cerberus willingly and give them the go-ahead on an experiment. (Just an example).
I wonder if Kaidan, Ashley, Liara and the others would or even should have similar things influencing their LI plots.

(I know I'm hoping for too much, but that's what hope is for, right?)^_^

I recall hearing somewhere (in the ME2 codex I think?) that the current estimate of spectres puts the numbers around 100. Considering the amount of beings in the galaxy I suppose that isn't an awful lot.

Congrats on the 1800 pages.

I know this is a Kaidan thread, and I hope you don't mind, but.......here, you get the best Liara screenshot I took to-date as a present:

@Sapphy, so what will Alexis be drinking when we send the girls out to the bar, I know Meghan's drinking whiskey and I'm pretty sure Kate will be drinking tequila.

Hello everyone, especially those new to the thread.

Okay, Gratz on 1800 pages. I had a nice long post in my head, but... Well, it's my birthday. I don't really celebrate or something, but my hun went to the grocery for something to make a proper breakfast, and he bought a puff cookie, or however is it called in english, you know, french puff pastry with a lot of cream. Long story short, he licked rests of it from my lips, aaand I was totally distracted. And forgot what to write.

Ehem.

So I'll ask this of the Kaidan fans 'cause I'm curious:
What is it about Kaidan that (1) drew you to him in the first place
and (2) made your Shepard really fall for him?

1. "Nhilus gave you a compliment. Sooo you hate him".
When I played ME for the first time, I vaguely knew of the romances (thou I knew about Virmire). But Kaidan accompanied my Shepard from the very start. I liked his comments. He was a usefull squaddie. He had it all. And later, as Collider wrote, comparing him to Ash might been the crucial fact.

2. I think Marge realised she never was so comfortable around someone since... well, since long time. I guess she might be isolating herself after Akuze. I know this is a bit brief explanation, but my language barrier works against me again.

Hello!

I'm new, mostly going to lurk here, but I fully support Kaidan in ME3 and just in general-- and I don't think BioWare would do us another injustice like Horizon again. I mean, really? REALLY?

I admit, at first I got so mad I didn't stay faithful and I decided Thane was the least screwed up option (I've been reading from page one of this thread and it seems like nobody really like's the ME2 romance options), but I went back and played ME1 again and I just kicked myself because too much time had passed since I played it and I forgot how great a character Kaidan was. :( So I deleted that save game (a lot of people died on my suicide mission anyway) and stayed faithful. I told myself I just used Thane for the achievement.

I'll go back to lurking. You guys are really funny.

Don't relurk :( We are really friendly :D
I did a playthrough with a Thane romance but didn't delete because I want to see what happens. I am also doing a paragade playthrough atm, with a default ME2 story (don't want to actually have to decide to kill the council, iyswim? Better to let BioWare make that choice for me) because I want to see that story arc as well without having to plough over 30 hours into that decision in the game. It is making me sad and I don't go to my cabin often because - no Kaidan pic! :crying:

Lex used to be a vodka girl, but I drank way too much of it back when I was a freshman in college... and well, now my characters won't drink it often.

friendly? me? no way :lol::lol::lol::lol:
I'm basically doing the same with Lana. She's no import so she got the default start settings. and Lana is romancing Thane as well. I will play her as well in ME3 later, after a Shayenne import playthrough. Going to my cabin regularly though to feed zee fishies and play with Karl-Gustav, my hamster
