Most interestingly this thread seems almost always nice. Something which sadly can't be said about the whole forum.

i'd partake in a chocolate kaidan even though i'm not new.  it's a bit hot in new york for tea or coffee at the moment.

One of the (many) things that I've always found hot about Carth and Kaidan is that they are older. They are strong, virile men in their 30's--not some teen or guy barely out of his teens like in the Final Fantsy series.

Definitely.

I think that's one of the reasons I feel rather 'meh' about Alistair.  My 20 year old self probably would've been all over that, but my current 33 year old self got tired of all the hand-holding.

Carth and Kaidan (along with Thane) have got maturity on their side, and that's always a big, sexy plus in my book.

In these games, I'm the character. Maybe it's because I'm a writer, but I like the boys if my character would like them.

I like the maturity of Kaidan and Carth, but I have to say I do like Alistair's playfulness and sense of humour, plus the fact he is really very sweet. I don't mind the hand holding in his case, lol.

Doesn't have the creative spark of the ones Nick posted, but for some reason, this video always makes me life. "Holy sh*t, it's Shepard!"

Ugh. The "replace Thane with Kolyat" talk is right up there with a "Rahna-centric side mission for Kaidan" on my list of DO NOT WANT for ME3

I do think Alistair is a great character, just not one of my favorite LIs.  I have his "someone's been driiiiinking" line on my phone for situational use around my friends.  Posted Image

If they just "replace" your dead teammates, that makes the whole of ME2 completely pointless. ME2 was about getting the best of the best to go with you on a suicide mission and win.
Some "random turian" cannot replace Garrus, and neither can a random quarian replace Tali. They're all one of a kind for a reason. Posted Image

Remember that Alistair really had NO experience with women--at all.  So you've gotta cut him some slack.  Plus, as you said, he's sweet.  I'm sure that Zev is better in bed, though.  Posted Image

Carth--well, we definitely know he's not a virgin.
And I doubt that Kaidan is either from his comments, although he doesn't do casual encounters.

This, for me as well.  Alistair was ridiculously romantic, and his sacrifice at the end made me cry like a baby, even though, for me personally, the youth and melodrama would be a bit much.  My first Warden loved him like crazy.  Pretty much at first sight too, which was very confusing for her.  Being a dwarf.  He was so tall ...

How many demerits would I get for just outright shooting her?  How about biotic-ing her a**?  Hmmm...Kaidan wouldn't like that.
But my Shep didn't really appreciate her lack of sensitivity to him.  A guy stands up for you, gets the crap beat out of him for your sake in front of you, then accidentally kills in self defence?  And she runs away from him.   Posted Image  Woosy

Right up till the Landsmeet, I loved Alistair. Both because how he is written and his VO (who really did a great job on it). Even when he was really young (for me anyway). With the ending I notice I'm not about to replay DA:O though, which is sad. Hm.

Kaidan being a secure guy for a change is good in my book. And I can totally imagine Carth's trust issues, so I didn't have an issue with that either (love that romance). On a different note, Bastila is something of an acquired taste for me. I came to respect her character on my 5th PT or something (being after a year break or so).

He dumped poor Moira in my first (seriously bugged play through), I was, as Moira, devastated.  Then I got angry and accidentally got the "secret companion" while trying to find a way around the dumping (had no clue about the "hardening.") Then I remade her and did it all over again.  Then ended up with a bug where both Zevran and Al were in love with her.

And now, I'm trying very very hard to figure out why Rachel Shepard would not romance Kaidan.  :(

Gotta keep believing. <3

wooo! yes! waking up to hope for me3.

morning!

whoa. thread moves so fast these days. cool.

@ baal - you rock to hack that picture. now i'm tempted to put in that thomas kinkade pic i wrote about in the fan fic. kelly messing with shep... he he.

@ sapphy: i too, do not like seeing lilith get smoothied. nobody deserved that. i figure kyrie had nightmares of it because heck, *I* had a nightmare of it. but i am prone to nightmares after seeing zombie vids and such. don't do so well with horror movies. crazy, i know.

@ baal again: i LOVE the idea of Kaidan/Ash/Liara looking out to the sky. or at that weird holo they were selling on the citadel - the one bailey mentions.

of course, that would sort of ruin the moment.

Shep: [gazes longingly at picture]
*cut to citadel. Kaidan is standing beside a woman in a medical uniform*
Kaidan: I'm sorry. The date was nice, but... It's not you. It's me.
Citadel Doctor:
Kaidan: Okay, scratch that, it's that my girlfriend, the one I loved with all my heart and thought was dead has come back and... well, this is embarassing, but as long as there's a chance in hell that we could be together, I'm going to have to figure that out first.
Citadel Doctor:
Kaidan: Good bye.
Citadel Doctor:
Kaidan: [walks away. he goes to the spot along the wards where he once said something embarrassing in front of shepard, stares out at the ward arms. feeling extremely nostalgic and heartsick, he fires up his contraband holo....]
Shepard's voice: I'm Commander Shepard and I delete viruses like you on the way to real errors."
Kaidan: [sigh]

re Alistair - I just think that my warden is only supposed to be fairly young and inexperienced as well so Alistair suits her perfectly. I find Zev off putting as a LI - he's too jaded and too much of a braggart about his prowess (which sets off alarm bells in my head, lol).

re : Kolyat - yeah I don't want him in my squad. he basically has no trainig or no skills, in my mind anyway. although he did manage to take down a Krogan a hell of a lot quicker than it usually takes Shepard's squad, lmao

Morning, people.

Does anyone know if BioWare can track WHO you cheated on your ME1 love interest with (if you did)? I hope that data is for statistical/entertainment purposes only (they plan to make the data public and I feel bad enough doing it just for the achievement). Had I known that they would know... I wouldn't have done it. At all.

I can't imagine that the data would make them chuck the ME1 LI all together because the data could indicate that the ME2 romances were "compelling"... no matter how many people cheated, they'd ****** a lot of people off... but I can't help but be scared by the mere suggestion of that outcome.

My dwarf tried to save Loghain.  (She loved the Wardens for giving her a second chance, and was doing the same to just about everyone she met in the entire game.  She got to be a good guy finally, rather than a thug.)  I screamed at the screen during Alistair's entire 'go to hell I'm leaving' speech, and reloaded as soon as the game let me.

And... I have had successful non-romantic Shepards.  It's easier if they're renegade, or really strictly by the book, cause then they shut Kaidan down out of a sense of duty before it goes anywhere.  (The second doesn't help if you want a romance in part 2 though, as that would still be a deal-breaker.  Unless death was traumatic enough to change her mind about such things.)

I guess that will come from the save-files. Then again, my MainShep stayed faithful so I couldn't care less about that. My single shep is well, single. I have no cheating save as of yet. I maybe won't even make one. That's what youtube is for *rofl*
