If you mean the technical aspect, the game sends information at (I think) every start and/or at DLC confirmation. You can change it in the settings, but I guess it's inevitable if your computer is "wired" to the Internet.
Was Garrus compelling for me? Yeah, somehow. If you push through the terrible "let's have sex" intro, you might find something to treasure... But it just made me pity the guy (well, I checked out all the options - dumping him before the mission just broke my heart, so I decided to never make him go through all this, unless it's a character prepared especially for him. Hello Dominica).

About Lilith: for me she was just another of those "trashy" NPC's used only to fill the story. Same as the doubtfull more-than-romantic feeling of Michelle for Garrus, or Kaidan's involvement with female citadel doctors. It's all over-interpretation. *shrugs*

I think I deleted the save game where I cheated because I felt so bloody terrible about it. Thane kind of grew on me, though, so I wanted to give him a chance on some playthroughs. He's no Kaidan, though.

My xbox is wired to the internet... but maybe if I object to them gathering data from us so much, I'll just create another account and not hook it up to xbox live. Sneakysneakysneaky. (But then I wouldn't get DLC.... crap. Ok, scratch that.)

I think your LI in ME1's role in ME3 is already pretty much planned. And even if you import a save where you did cheat... Kaidan and Shep are mature enough to deal with that without causing a nuclear explosion. Likely they'd have a small confrontation and resume business as usual.

I agree with you about the doctor. I can't imagine that the date thing they went on was a whole lot of fun... on some level he probably felt bad about it. Drinks with someone with a dead girlfriend can be awkward.

after two years of mourning shepard, kaidan's friends convince him to go out for drinks.  i bet it was a real downer of an evening.  actually sage did a great job of writing about that awkwardness in valhalla. 

I think its obvious that Kaidan does feel badly about it.  I don't think that he would confess the he went out on a date to Shepard if he didn't--then quickly qualifies that it wasn't anything serious.  Poor guy is just so cut up and conflicted. 

There's a part of me/Kimbri that would love to scratch her eyes out (I"m territorial in many respects).  But there's a part of me that feels badly for her, too.  You're right.  He probably wasn't much fun even if he's good to look at and to hear speak.  I think it would be hard for any woman to measure up in his mind.  Remember that he likes adventurous women.  I don't think that a doctor on the Citadel would qualify.  Even if things went well, I'm sure they went south quickly for her when the ex suddenly came back from the dead.  She doesn't have a snowball's chance now--especially if your Shep was faithful.

When I first saw that cutscene with Kaidan and Lillith walking I was really worried they would show them kiss or something to indicate he had moved on and was in a new relationship. Soooo glad that wasn't the case. As bad as Horizon made me feel they could've made it sooo much worse.

That was my biggest fear.  When Kimbri awoke, I was worried that Kaidan didn't make it in the life pod.  Then--2 years!  Frak!  He could have moved on...he could be married with a kid and another on the way!  Frak frak frak!...Then there's this chick being on quite good terms with him on Horizon.  Yeah.  Not proud of it, but she had to go.  I was afraid that she might be that new "adventurous" woman in his life.  Not that I wanted her dead, but she had to go--anywhere far away from Kaidan.

Yeah.  I don't like her reaction to seeing him again at all.  I don't really blame him much for how their reunion went down.  I blame femShep.  She was too cold and distant to him, IMO.

@Kitteh:  Bioware wants you to play through different ways.  They aren't going to link the achievements for your entire account to the storyline of every single character.  I"m sure it will be like from 1 to 2 where it gives you a choice of which import you want and some of the pertanent details of each--the major decisions made.  And since this romance issue is a big part of their plot, I would think that it would be one of those details for each individual character.  Acutally for each playthrough.  Because I had two import options for ME2 since Kimbri was at level 50 and 59 (IIRC).  I could have made different decisions in each for the same character.  It would depened on which I chose.
Acutally, I'm counting on that for ME2 since I didn't save the crew in the first playthrough and am trying to save them all for Kimbri's second playthrough.

I"m with you on the Thane thing.  Jack just seems flat to me.  Garrus...I don't know, seems more like a hookup than something real.  With Thane I think there's real emotion there.  I feel that there can be more of a link.  I plan on playing through with a new character that will cheat with Thane pretty much to see how that changes the dynamic with Kaidan in ME3.  Losing K's photo will be harsh, though.

That was pretty much the exact... I dunno. It was the exact right thing to say to inflict the greatest amount of guilt in the smallest amount of dialogue. Made me feel so great about my Shep... way to go, Elizabeth...

As for Kolyat replacing Thane, erm...No. Just..No! He is an annoying and whiny little brat imo, and BioWare would make my list if they did that <_< What happens in peoples heads? Daft idea <_<

What I think about the whole cheating thing is that even though shepard has been dead for 2 years, it doesn't feel like that long for her. so the fact that after what really amounts to her as a few weeks or months that she's so fickle that she cheats says to me that she didn't really have strong feelings for Kaidan in the first place and is just looking for a quick lay.

If Shepard moves on after Kaidan, I don't think it lessens what they had or that they have stopped having feelings for each other. I think of it as two people who, had circumstances gone their way, would have remained together. Unfortunately, circumstances didn't go their way. Might always have that "what could have been" thought in the back of their minds, even if they do move on to other meaningful relationships.

Of course, no reason why Shepard needs to move on. She's a stubborn, determined sort.

^ LOL, that's too funny. Honestly I've never liked Jacob, the way his lips move when he talks and show like ALL of his top teeth bugs the sh*t out of me. I guess my dental thing of always noticing someone's teeth first carries over from real life into games I play too, lol. And yes, I downloaded the teeth whitener for DA before you ask. >_>

As for Kaidan in ME3, my FemShep is faithful so she has no worries. xD I don't buy the 'we will be tracking 2 see who cheats lolol' crap either - that'd take too much time and effort, so you know they aren't going to do it. Even if they did, like others have said, it wouldn't account for other playthroughs so to that I say, "Bullsh*****t!"

I think Kaidan's "When things settle down a little... maybe... I don't know." Leaves wiggle room for her (as far as our playing her goes). They AREN'T together. He states that he's not sure if he wants to get back together or not. (Although we all know he would eventually if she's true.)
