If he'd been bi to begin with, I wouldn't have liked him. I hate sharing. *fangirl pouty-face*

You share him with US, Tat.  Who cares if the "us" includes men?

I'm gonna go with it's a bit too late now to change that.  Had he been one from the first, like Skye in JE, no problem.  But to change it now for him or Ashley would just be wrong.

I care. It'd just be weird for me. See, I hate discussions like this because I always end up in the minority. *sigh*

You can dislike it, Tat.  Your reason just seems odd. ;)  I meant no offense.

I know. It's less weird to have to share with a bunch of girls, though I
have been known to go into fits of fangirl rage/jealousy... rarely,
though. And if I do, I generally keep it quiet. I was also trying to give a reason without going into moral and religious reasons, because I reeeeeeeeeally don't want to go that route. People generally get mad at me when I do, so I try to stay quiet and sit in a corner.

Heh, It's all right.

Frankly, I wouldn't notice either way.  I had no clue Skye was bi until I went on the forums.  I don't play as a man.  Ever.  Even in Guild Wars, all my avatars are women except my storage mules.

Heh, I rarely play as men either, so I wouldn't have noticed! Haven't played JE either, come to think of it... I wouldn't have even known about Zevran if I hadn't looked, because I didn't romance him as a girl. Just wasn't my cup of tea, I guess. It was weird to be talked to by Puss in Boots.  I did try a male Shepard, but found his voice to be grating. At least mine was good-looking. I really should finish it, I guess...

Also played a male Revan once. Romanced Bastila, I think. Still not sure if that actually worked out...

Let the hate and denial ensue!

On Carth/Kaidan voice, it'd be nice for the people who hate Kaidan solely on the fact him and Carth have the same voice could see the difference. They're two completely different characters. Their voice is, undoubtedly the same.. yet the same time they're different and used differently. :pinched:
Kaidan stays in the deeper voice range, Carth is a lot more lighthearted sounding.

Blaaah.

The first time Kaidan opened his mouth and Sbarge's voice came out, I was hooked--on ME and on Kaidan.  Immediately, I knew Kaidan was the one I HAD to romance.  Not because he was Carth (as you stated, they are quite different men).  But because the positive feelings associated with Carth due to the voice just spill over onto Kaidan and give me nice shivers.
//

A bisexual Kaidan?  meh.  I don't think it would bother me.  I grew to really like and romance Zevran from DA and the bisexual thing didn't bother me there.
I don't play as a guy in either ME or in DA--because its harder to get into that way.  And in our own little minds, Kaidan is only ours anyways, right?
I don't know if its really in-line with how straight-laced his character generally is, though.
But why deny guy players the wonderfullness that is Kaidan?

@TAT:  Perhaps it is different for you because we're all just versions of femShep--several parts of a whole.  So its not like one of us romancing him is "cheating" just him with another part of femShep.  But a maleShep would be a different character to you and hence would feel more like having to share?  Just a thought.

And that's okay about your religous views.  Anyone who attacks you for your beliefs is not being terribly tolerant themselves.  Posted Image

EDIT:  I never played as male Revan.  I'd be too sad that I couldn't be with Carth.  The game and romancing the man are too linked for me.  Posted Image

Greetings Kaidanphiles. I'm not a poster on this thread, though I will say that I like the Kaidan character for the most part. I have a question for you die-hard fans, which may have been answered earlier in the thread, but I'd like your input anyway. In other threads it has been discussed that Kaidan should be expanded so that he is available as a love interest for male Shepards. Do you all agree that this is an acceptable expansion of the character, or would a bisexual Kaidan somehow ruin the character for you?

it wouldn't make sense to introduce that change in me3 but if it had been established in me1, i would have been fine with it.  more inclined to play as maleshep too.

@ Jade. Many thanks. I attempt as much tolerance as my very big tolerance meter will allow, I do, I do! But I think your reasoning is probably accurate: every FemShep is a piece of one, so it's not too much sharing. I also know that there's no way I could be the *only* fangirl of one fictional guy. I tried, once. I tried to be the only one! But then I met two others. XD

I agree, if it had been there in ME1 I wouldn't have cared, but to implement it just for ME3 it doesn't make any sense.

Is there actually any possibility of them implementing it in ME3? As confused as the ME2 romances seemed to be, I would not be at all shocked--just very befuddled.

Also! Current favorite music! From the ME2 soundtrack, "The End Run." Omg. So. Epic!

my femshep would definitely be baffled by kaidan's sudden interest in men.  though i doubt the developers would go that route in me3.

I would've been open to a bi Kaidan if that had been established in ME1. For me, it's just too late in the game (no pun intended) to introduce that aspect in an established character.

This really. Would have had no problems with a bi Kaidan at all, like Zevran in DA, if Bioware had created Kaidan like that. Ofcourse if he was bi in a similiar way like Zevran, who's very honest about it, I would have liked a straight male LI as well...again like DA.

To make Kaidan bi now would make his character feel way too different to me. A lot could have happened in the past two years, sure, but I wouldn't like to see such a deep character change. Regardless of any cut content, Kaidan is a straight male LI in ME and I would like him to stay that way :) If they would throw things around that drastically in a third chapter of a trilogy, I would not be happy. Again if they had created him for both male as female players in ME1, it would have been no problem at all.

Featuring an all-new story spanning 10
years, players will help tell that tale by making tough moral
choices,
gathering the deadliest of allies
, amassing fame and fortune, and
sealing their place in history. The way you play will write the
story of
how the world is changed forever.
- DA2.

Hmm.. Wonder why I have the feeling we did that already.. :P

EDIT:

Aww, just read Hawkes is not the Demon Dragon Baby. Sadface. I wanted to play as a dragon demon :(

Multiple times. *yawns just a bit*

However! The problem is not a familiar plot; it becomes tricky when taking a familiar plot and switching something around to make its players' jaws drop. I be a writer. I know that's particularly tough. My sympathies to the DAge writers...

Hmmm indeed.....I wonder if DA2 will get a Jacob too ;)

So....how would you react if Sbarge was confirmed to voice a LI in DA2? Truthfully? :)

Yeah, me too. They've got a winning formula. Why change it, right? I doubt they want FemShep players attacking them, anyway...

I remember seeing Yuri Lowenthal's name in the credits and thinking "Wait, I didn't hear a Sasuke Uchiha anywhere!"

I think he did an elf's voice in the Dalish Origin.

Hi thread!

I remember Gaider commenting somewhere that they wouldn't cast Sbarge as another LI on purpose, cause they got too much flak for it happening twice. Doesn't mean they wouldn't cast him as a villain or NPC or somesuch... that could be entertaining. (And would probably inspire some crack-fics where said villain or NPC was suddenly romance-able, just cause of the voice.)

Duh. XD I've never seen Sbarge as a villain; that would be fun.

@Tat: Have you seen the DA comic Aimo drew and Gaider wrote?

There was another concept arty person I recall, but that was before I broke down and joined dArt, so I can't find it... *grr*argh*

Imagine if Alistair had his voice XD
Sucks, the flak sucks most the time. Non LI squadmate would still be cool.
