@Tat: Have you seen the DA comic Aimo drew and Gaider wrote?
There was another concept arty person I recall, but that was before I broke down and joined dArt, so I can't find it... *grr*argh*

I saw that comic the minute it was released. *nods with admiration*

Okay, shameless plug: www.tatooine92.deviantart.com. Yeah. I just did that. I've got a lot of fanfics and stuff... also have fanfics at FFnet: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1246089/

I'll go sit down now! XD

Hi thread!
I remember Gaider commenting somewhere that they wouldn't cast Sbarge as another LI on purpose, cause they got too much flak for it happening twice. Doesn't mean they wouldn't cast him as a villain or NPC or somesuch... that could be entertaining. (And would probably inspire some crack-fics where said villain or NPC was suddenly romance-able, just cause of the voice.)

Imagine if Alistair had his voice XD
Sucks, the flak sucks most the time. Non LI squadmate would still be cool.

Aw, Steve Valentine was melt-able enough for me.  Not Sbarge, but perfect for Alistair.  (Gaider commented once on Alistair that he wrote him thinking of Nathan Fillion, but then the whole english accent thing was decided on, and even if Fillion could do one, it would kinda defeat the point of it being distinctively Fillion's voice, and they ended up with Valentine.  The things I picked up when I used to haunt other bits of the old forums...)

And Sbarge has done some villain/creepy work w/his TV guest spots... people have mentioned Star Trek, Nip/Tuck, and some flavor of Law & Order, I think.  He'd do a great villain.  Then again, I am of course biased in that he can do anything he wants with that voice of his and I'll be happy.  :innocent:

eta @ Tat:  Hey, I have shameless self-promotion in my sig, so it can be there for EVERY SINGLE POST.  You should mention your stuff more often, is good. :)

Ditto!  <3  Also, Steve Valentine starred in an episode of my favorite TV show of the moment, "Chuck." He was a spoiled rich boy chased by the bad guys, and it was hilarious! It was so funny to not look at the screen and be hearing Alistair... It just was awesome. Ohh, I can't remember the episode name, or I'd look it up... *goes to check anyway*

Hmmm indeed.....I wonder if DA2 will get a Jacob too ;)

So....how would you react if Sbarge was confirmed to voice a LI in DA2? Truthfully? :)

I would jump up and down and scream in joy and celebration.  We need more Sbarge voice.  heck, I'm tempted to play Republic Command just to hear his voice in a comic role--despite it being a shooter game (at which I suck) and no romance options.  But it is Star WArs

Plus, there would be the added benefit that the whiny male element would be po'd because "Carth" was in another game.  I'm sure they would lable him as whiny also.  *rolls eyes*  *mumbles:  how anyone can think Kaidan is whiny if beyond me...*
//

As to the Bi Kaidan issue:
I don't think it would make sense to change the character at this point.  If it started in M1, that would be one thing, but I wouldn't want his character to change like that.  Hmmm..although...did he ever say that the Citadel doctor was a female.

And would it matter?  Kaidan is really a loyal character.  If he likes your femShep, he would have absolutely no interest in anyone regardless of gender anyways.

Ah well, back to work.

@ Jade: Oooh! RepComm! I love that game to death, but I never play the Kashyyyk mission anymore. I can't bear to hear Scorch's sorrow at Sev getting left behind. *weeps*

squee, i love that show as well.  the episode with steve was chuck versus the break-up.  i bet kaidan would watch old chuck vids on that panel he's always fussing around with during his downtime.

the carth thing boggles my mind.  i'll go to a thread to chat with someone and there will be the usual kaidan carth rant.  i don't get the logic behind that one.  they're two completely different characters.

*sigh* As much as I want the strong female main characters to be featured, it doesn't bug me that much.

Some people put too much thought into things. Or not enough. Depends.

oh, to stay on Kaidan topic, I ran across Broken Angels on ff.net the other day, which is a re-telling of BAaT, which I thought the Kaidan thread might enjoy. (Is atmospherically/thematically inspired by Ender's Game, to help you decide if it might be your cup of tea or not.)

I read a little of it just now... That's intense stuff, but well-written. Yay!

*thinks* ME1 only had MaleShep, Ashley, and Garrus. DA1 had... *gasp!* Why are these people complaining about there being no women used as promotional imagery?! Morrigan was everywhere for DA1!

It's not JUST women.  It's the lack of femShep/femWarden and Kaidan/Alistair on the covers and in the ads.  The marketing is targeted at men.

Morrigan art gets sex symbol hurled at it.(which, as pretty as all the pics were and how much I like her myself, that's true)
From an artistic pov, the art itself is gorgeous.

well of course. because only men buy video games. there are no women gamers. there are just men pretending to be women. and if there were women gamers, they'd all look like trolls, right? right?

(completely sarcastic)

in all truth, however, i think us girl gamers hide. i know i do. scarcely anyone of my acquaintence knows how deeply addicted i am to VGs. and no, i cannot seem to spell acquintence right. hmm. acq...? acc? nevermind.

Maybe if they marketed to women, there'd be a few more of us? I've lost track of the number of times someone new to the forums comments that someone else was playing ME, and s/he only just now found out it was possible to play a female, customize the character, have squad interaction/romance, etc. And would have played when it came out if s/he had only known...

Then again, Jade Empire had the female PC for its marketing, and was probably the least successful of BioWare's games, so I doubt they'll change things any time soon. It'd be nice if they'd plan dual-marketing from the get-go, however, as it would show the character customization and the female side of gaming at the same time.

(I'd also be mollified if Alenko had a character bio as good as Ashley's on the website...)
