Garrus: First of all, he's always been kind of a brother figure to me, so bleck to the romance. Second, the whole one night stand approach he takes with Shepard is a huge turn off and the fact that he approaches romance like that seems terribly out of character, especially considering his past history with Shep and all they've been through. They did a much better job with Tali, a nicely paced progression, a character who has obviously grown but hasn't been completely derailed. And the whole I'm willing to risk my life to be with you adds an exponential sweetness factor. That being said, the Talimancer's scare me and I'm pretty sure they have already put a bounty on my head for that confession.

Thane: Seriously? My dead wife and estranged kid? Was someone watching a little too much Lifetime movie channel? That and do you seriously want to sleep with a guy who could accidentally go into total recall about last night in front of oh I don't know...Joker? Some people are turned on by the hallucinogenic effect deal...me not so much. It seems to be just asking for a bad trip and very awkward post coital apolagies.

Jacob: Oh Jacob. Seriously? The prize? Obviously the man has never seen Aladdin.

Finally, a note on all the ME2 romances, for all the extra clothing they seemed more tawdry to me than the first game. Less progression, more innuendo. Don't know. May just be me. I am crazy. Ask anyone who's been here long enough.

Never did a playthrough where I didn't romance Kaidan in ME1 even though I tried but just couldn't do it. 
Never did a playthrough where Kaidan got virmired.
Kaidan always goes with my shep to the bomb site.  I  have to have him in my squad in ME1, along with Garrus, everyone else pretty much stays on the ship for most of the game, lol.
I must be the only person who is very 'meh' about Wrex.  I actually prefer Grunt.

On my one playthrough where I virmired Kaidan...He just wasn't a fit with that particular FemShep. I did romance Thane....Sorry but, I happen to like his romance the best. It's kinda sweet from my Sheps pov. I tried Garrus but it felt odd. Like I was forcing him to be with me. I did the Jacob romance and was kind of surprised that he tells you he loves you.
Although my main Shep is a Vanguard and Kaidan is the only man for her. I had one character where I cheated with Thane but, I felt bad so I deleted it. I guess I'll just have to make a new character and use her to romance Thane again. I want to do the love triangle just so I can see Jacob get mad when I tell him I want Thane over him.

Also I really hope they bring back the ME1 LI if they don't I will boycott BioWare and go on a starvation diet. And chain myself to their building and waste away with a Kaidan plushie in my arms

i did. first shep. didn't realize he was an LI until i got him killed.

first shep sent him with the salarians. i thougth it was stupid the moment i did it. never did it again.

nah, i'm more "meh" about wrex, too. i like the guy, i do. i just never was like WRREEEEXXXXXX!

he's alright, and i like him as the wise leader in me2 more than as the hard-bitten merc. just...don't like mercs generally. i don't trust them.

@Clover: Oh, you've reached the home of people who didn't bother with a romance, or at least not one for a primary Shep, with a few notable exceptions. (Mostly Thane run throughs, with a couple for Garrus. And I think Sia ran through a Jacob romance 'for science' and confirmed for us all that we wouldn't like it.)

Yeah... Jacob is only good if you're a Renegade or a Cerberus sympathizer.

Haven't done Thane's yet.

Of the three, I prefer Garrus'.

Joke would probably like that considering what he watches at his console when he thinks no one is looking. 

@Ruby Red:  I agree that of the female ME2 choices Thane is the most intriguing.  I will make a different Shep that will romance Kaidan in 1 and Thane in 2--mostly because I would also like to see what that does in 3 between Kaidan and Shep.
And don't worry.  They fully plan on bringing back the ME1 LI in ME3.  They consider that part of the story that has to be completed.  I just hope that what ever LI you chose they are a squadmate.  I loved running around with Kaidan and hearing his comments in 1.  It sucked not having him with you, knowing he is angry and hurting and you can't do anything--not even respond to his heartbreaking message.

seconded. garrus is the only one who makes sense to me if you don't pick kaidan. thane is hot, i grant you. i do see the appeal cause he's so pretty. but for true love, something that seems to build on real affection, garrus is it. he's THERE for you forever. what a guy. my shep and he don't have ANY chemistry, but he's a sweetie. i hope they finally build some turian females in me3 so garrus can find a girl...

or he can be with meg, right, sia? 

Totally off topic: I think they should make an achievement in ME2 that consists of keeping the fish alive the WHOLE mission, beginning to end. It seems like they always need feeding. Anyone know how long you can go between feedings without killing them?

i did NOT like the "snow in my boots" line, however. ugh. made me think of woody from toy story (there's  a snake in my boot)

had to admit i did love garrus' "Turians DON;T like the cold shepard. did i ever mention that?" especially like the 10th time i clicked on him and he said that.
