Good morning.  As one of the posters on at least one thread (at least the one started by TZ) I don't care so much about the cover. But I do care about representation and am appalled by the continuing use of the same old rationale that BW has used for not doing more for women in the last 10 years.  Yes, I'm older than you most likely so take this for what it's worth  -- I'm looking back over a number of years of issues not just with Bioware but with dismissal of women in general by the gaming industry. While I do understanding marketing, branding and cost, I also know that when a company wants to focus on a particular market segment they do.  Yes, this is a World of Whine but at the same time, this is a legitimate issue not just in gaming but many other segments of life. 

Hope this comes across that I'm not trying to criticize anyone here but just comment that there are different perspectives that deserve to be taken into account respectfully even if one doesn't agree.

I have two friends who only bought ME after finding out you could play as a female. And as much as I love the other characters and the universe, if I wasn't already a BioWare fangirl and had assumed you had to play as Sheploo, I probably would've passed on it. I have no problem playing as a dude in most games (even though it can get a little cliché ), just not in RPGs.



I understand why they market to the boys, but how hard would it be to throw out even a small online trailer, featuring a female character, that would tap into another demographic?

I actually passed on ME for a long time because I didn't want to play Sheploo and thought Ashley was a horrible LI.

Then my sister was whining to me about Kaidan hitting on her when she was trying to get Liara and why does BioWare always cause the love triangle blah blah blah.

I'm trying to avoid the DA2 forum except for the awesome 'Mike Hawke' threads and posts because apparently, I'm not that mature and I think that's amazingly funny.

It's the chief! He always gets a pass in my books for simply being the chief. (To make it fair, there are plenty of women, badass spartans too.)
And as awesome as I think Cortana is in all 3 games, I do think she has a really cool design but...

As soon as I heard the name Hawke, that's where my mind went.  I was snickering at the idea of characters named "LookatMike Hawke" or "TouchMike Hawke"...I should have known I wouldn't be alone in this.
