I'm curious what his stance is with his family too. If he's "disowned", or not on bad terms, yet not on good terms at the same time.

I don't think disowned, since he says his father was proud eventually I think they finally hashed things out, but it took a while.

I don't think he's on bad terms with his father any more, but I think there was definitely a patch where he had been. And it probably has left it so that where they can coexist in the same house if needed, that there is still an awkwardness - and they likely will never be close.

I assume that because of his biotics and being gone at BAaT for a few years, a rift formed in his family that hasn't repaired itself, nor will it ever repair.

Well unlike the rest of the ME1 cast Kaidan dosent seem to have real daddy issues. Which is another positive to me.

Agreed. Whatever's happened with his family doesn't appear to effect him. Kaidan has incredible focus and seems to have an immense capacity to just deal with things, the latter of the two is sorely lacking in many of the other companions in the series.

In the first conversation you can really have with him, post Eden Prime, he mentions that him enlisting made his father proud - eventually.

"Besides, my father served. It made him proud when I enlisted... eventually. But is that why you're here? Because of your family?"



It's kind of a loaded statement with how Kaidan says it.

Right. Probably because after BaAT he dropped out of everything for a 4-5 years before joining up. Killing his instructor and then his "downtime" probably didn't sit well with his old man. His father probably felt like Kaidan had to prove that he could follow through on something and do it right before he would really accept him.

Poor Kaidan.

yay, a Sbarge voice conversation! As previously mentioned, I saw him in a CSI repeat the other day. So disconcerting, that amazing voice coming from a total jack@ss character. *laughs* I was sitting there w/part of my brain going "awww, keep talking" and the other part going "ew! smack him upside the head and lock him up forever!"



And yes, if you play an ME2 game after not recruiting Garrus in 1, you have no response to the 'reach/flexibility' conversation besides "bye". I'm finishing up an ME1 game where I never recruited Wrex to see how that varies in 2 as well. Someday, eventually. I haven't been playing much, so it'll take awhile.

It's a shame that more studios don't make use of that amazing voice of his. Do they not realize the kind of ratings they would get?

Raphael Sbarge was in a episode of Lie to Me, i heard the voice before i looked at the screen and saw him. I jumped round thinking omg Kaidan. He played a bit of a jerk in that episode but damn that sexy voice:wub:  He has also been in an episode in the last series of Prison Break - He plays the company operative disguised as a priest, I'm pretty sure he kicked the hell outta T-bag though. Good times.

Back onto Kaidan though, just finished reading Nightodie's Walls Can Be Breached fanfic and i would really recommend you read it if you haven't already, tis awesome

Haha I was watching an early episode of Grey's Anatomy with my parents the night before last and Keith David was guest starring.  The second I heard his voice, I was like I'm pretty sure that's the same guy that voiced Captain Anderson.
