Yep, that's one of them :)  I'll admit, as much as I love Kaidan and his romance as it is written (well, up until Horizon anyway...) I would love to see a little more banter between him and Shepard now that they're on more of an equal footing and they've gotten past that awkward first stage.  Well, the banter would have to come after they sort out all the issues stupid Bioware left them with <_<

My Shep is not apologizing one bit, he blew up at her and she did her best to be nice. If he wants an apology he will get a singularity where the sun dont shine.

I don't know if either need to apologize, given the situation (ignoring the fact that Kaidan already did in the letter).  Well... my Shepard might, but my Shepard may have intentionally played him to keep him as far away from Cerberus' influence as possible, so... yeah.

Hello ladies,

it's 37° C here, I can hardly think and feel like I'm going to melt any minute. Last night wasn't much cooler, and I couldn't sleep, so I made this instead:

Pretty much shows how I feel: Lazy as hell. ;)

Oh yeah, and I finally got myself a DA account --> here where I'll be adding some older stuff as well as new pieces. Already did another sketch (featuring Ash, Liara & Tali) which I still ned to color, but my PC is slowly giving up thanks to the heat, so this might have to wait till tonight.

Also, this is awesome.

Jilly: Hmmm...I'll have to look for those later...

Josian: Yeah, Horizon is a downer now. But I have faith that its going to be woven into the fabric of their story in such a way that ultimately it makes them stronger.

I love the Clan of the Cave Bear book series. I hate listening to The Mammoth Hunters (3rd book) because of the angst and hurt and misunderstandings. But that part of the story is necessarly to strengthen the relationship of the characters and to give them time to work on their own issues.

It is my hope that this will function similarly.

Its obvious that Kaidan loves her. He used the past tense when talking to her on Horizon, but I don't believe him. He wouldn't feel so hurt and betrayed if he wasn't still so passionate about her. The poor guy doesn't give into his feelings easily, so I don't think he's really had much experience dealing with them since BaAT. And he's overwhelmed by so many conflicting emotions on Horizon and after. Its heartbreaking to watch. But his message especially speaks clearly how much he loves her--not in the words said but in the context.

If she is true to him, I have no doubt that they will be able to work things out.

I don't know if they can if that picture gets turned over on the desk. Maybe. Either way, it will be a rocky road for them.

I think he blew up because she was so cold and impersonal.  He gave her this glowing introduction and embraced her.  He was happy to see her.  All she could come up with was "Good to see ya, how you doin'?"  Then all the grief, hurt, of the past 2 years and now betrayal overwhelmed the poor guy.

@sesheta:  LOL!  "uh can you die later, Sir.  This isn't a good time."  Posted Image
I so gotta play.  But I know I'm going to be distracted by the voice and get killed.  Posted Image

@Tigina:  In real life, probably not.  In stories yeah.  Usually are.

I dont know his email showed that he did care at one point for her. But now he is unsure and leaves of with a maybe. Two of my sheps want to actually clear things up, but a third thought that "maybe" wouldnt cut it and decided to move on. TIme will tell what is up though.

What doesn't kill you will make you stronger, and so on.

It can also be more interesting to watch from a bystander's perspective.

That is what they always say, don't they? I was just idly wondering if there is actually some truth in it.

Have to agree that there is nothing remotely interesting if it would only be sunshine, unicorns and rainbows. Although I don't mind that kind of endings ;)

Brought to you by the KAAS:

Just a quick reminder before I go... the One Line Story is moving again, and it's going good. The links are below in my sig -If you have not read it click on One Line Story and give it a read, If you have click on & End and you should be close to the end (it moves faster then I can fix it sometimes). You don't have to be a writer to add a line, just make it go with the story.

I do recommend that you know where we are in the ship when you do it, but don't worry if you don't, someone after you will fix it (yeah, last time we made the doctor drunk when she thought we were in the med bay and we were in Shepard's cabin) Kaidan also needs to figure out how to survive our attempts to get him and Shepard together (he seems to get hurt or hit on the head with.... things) ... he is out of commission right now... but you know... we are really good at what we do so....

Join us....

Okay Night is moving away from the keyboard now ... no hitting refresh ... I need to go to bed...

Very true!  I hadn't thought ot that.

I think the message is deliberately written so that the player can interpret as they want.  If they want to move on, they will take his uncertainty as their relatioship being off indefinitely.

To me, I read that note and can't help but feel his turmoil.  He loved her very deeply.  I think that he still does from how he talks about not wanting to lose her again and how he talks about pre-Ilos.
I have no doubt he loves her.  Its whether he wants to take that risk of loving her and potentially losing her or of being hurt by her that makes him hessitant.
I think with a femShep that truly loves him in return, he won't be able to resist her.  He likes "adventurous women."  And, lets face it, Shepard is one of a kind.  Every woman that he meets after her will pale in comparison.

I would agree there.  Playing as Shepard, I couldn't help but feel hurt by his rejection on Horizon.  But when I am more in watching rather than role-play mode, I can glimpse the spectrum of emotions that are going on behind Kaidan's fascade.

I can, too.  Which is why he gets Avery wholly.  If he were less tormented, if he had less pain while he was hurting Shepard, he may not even have gotten her because then he wouldn't be the man she fell for.

I'm probably one of maybe two-ish people that blame Shepard for Horizon much more than the VS.

Oh, that's me too.  The very first time I played Horizon, I was mad at Shepard, not Alenko.  I wanted to run into the game and apologize to him for acting like an idiot, and could we do that conversation over, please?  Cause all my options of things to say were stupid! :crying:

Nope.  It took two people to screw that up.  Just like in any real life fight.

I know what you're saying, Fort, I just don't agree.  You don't throw words like "traitor" and "betrayer" around lightly.  And I'm leaving "loved," out of it, but those two words are a bit too strong to render him totally blameless.

Shep's lameness was epic, but he didn't have to be so, so..... mean.

Yeah, I'm with Fort. He's all emotional, and gives you a hug, and is all 'wth, you're not dead?!?" and any of Shepard's options for response are horrible. While reading Loved I get why what happened on Horizon could be traumatic, but it absolutely failed to get me upset at Kaidan in any way shape or form. It made me want to hit my Shepard instead.

And, in happy news... Aimo Kaidan!

<3 Aimo.

I'm just saying neither handled it well, Jilly.  Shep started it with the lameness, but Kaidan finished it with the harshness.

And I've been watching too much BTVS, I'm talking like a Whedon character.

Do I like Horizon? Heck no. But I understand Kaidan's point of view, he thought Shepard was dead for two years, is shocked, possibly in physical pain or confused from being paralyzed only moments earlier, and he knows first hand what Cerberus is capable of, which is acts of blatant terrorism and torture. He's heard rumors that Shepard was alive, and working for Cerberus, and now he sees her, and the best thing she can say is "how you doing?" That doesn't bode well for the rest of the conversation.

So while it was wrong for Kaidan to go off and not listen, there is NO way to actually make him listen, which makes Shepard wrong, too. This is the way they wrote him out for this chapter, and while it sucks, I have to accept it, and hope that his role is better in the next game.

I would never give up on someone I cared about after the first big misunderstanding. I just hope the payoff for being faithful and understanding Kaidan's role in ME2 is really good in ME3.
