Catching up from last night...
Interesting. I would agree you with. I am more attached to Kaidan than Alistair also. Is it just the voice? I'm sure that's some part of it. Perhaps its that although Alistair is sweet, you constantly have to tell him what to do. Its like he can't think for himself until after the Landsmeet where all the sudden he dumps you if you're not a human noble--so all the sudden he can make a decision on his own?TeenZombie wrote...
I actually visualize Casey Hudson's face as he talks about how hard it would be for players to stay faithful whenever I think about cheating. It kills that train of thought instantly.
But seriously, I've thought about why I have more attachment to Kaidan than I do to Alistair in Dragon Age (whom I cheat on with Zev at least once in every playthrough, even if I go back to him), and it's partially that Kaidan was the first video game LI that I actually liked, and he's also actually the kind of guy I would be lucky to find in real life.
I also think too much, and most of the other Bioware LIs have flaws that make me disinterested. I should have been this picky in real life when I was on the dating scene.
Perhps its that Kaidan is a grown man. He'll tell you about his past issues, but he also doesn't want or need you to fix them for him. He's dealt with them. Despite the difference in rank, he's more of an equal for Shepard than Alistair is for the Warden.
I agree with you on your point about the flaws in the ME2 characters as well. You've recruited a group of reprobates and killers. Shepard is the one that has to stay their hand and try to make them into better people. And these are the characters that are supposed to be so intriguing that you will cheat on such upright and good characters such as Kaidan and Ashley?
ANDsesheta:
I honestly thought that we'd have to save him from the collectors in a pod at the end of the game. I wasn't expecting the Horizon reunion at all, lol
from what the devs had said on the old forums I was expecting a cameo but not what we ended up with, lol
On Horizon I was really worried about him--that the Collectors had taken him. I was so relieved when he showed up and started off so happy to see Shepard. I wish that she was able to express the relief that all of us felt.Kassy:
Yeah, I was running around Horizon thinking "Gotta get to Kaidan, gotta get to Kaidan..." and then I see the Collector ship leave and I was like "Noooo, my Kaidan's on there!". I figured that was why he wouldn't be able to join me in ME2, but I was really really wrong.
So I had a similar reaction to you, Kassy.
I know! I was like "someone talk to me about this, darn it!" Apparently no one cares about anything but their own problems that need to be solved. I think this was what completely turned off of a romance with Garrus. He doesn't really give a...sesheta:
edit - in my mind my shep then goes and biotically destroys pretty much in the cargo bay in frustration. It really sh*ts me that I can't go and vent my feelings with Joker/chakwas/Garrus - I thought they at least would talk to me about Kaidan (well Joker does vaguely but it's not enough. My shepard needs to vent, damn it)
I think Kaidan probably caught enough of the fight while frozen to see Shepard in action. He had been on enough missions to know her style (heck, when I play ME1, he's ALWAYS with her).Fire Eye:
Not to swerve back to Horizon, but it occurs to me that Kaidan isn't nearly suspicious enough. I mean, that might not even be Shepard! Particularly if you're playing a Shepard with the face scars! Too trusting, that man...

I did this today. It doesn't actually make Udina the one you picked does it?sesheta255 wrote...
I actually chose the 'I made Udina councillor' option in one of my playthroughs just to see if Miranda would say something about my memory being sh*t because I didn't, I always went with anderson in ME1 , lol. Sadly it just goes along with whatever you say there. I wanted Miranda to question my shep's memory and sanity and thought it would have been more interesting. Sadly it meant another deleted and/or reloaded playthrough, lol. I've lost count of how many times I've started playing ME2 only to delete the playthrough for one reason or another, lol.
It amuses me that Wrex seems to be the ex squaddie that is most happy to see Shep, especially as I'm very 'meh' about him, lol, although I never killed him on Virmire.
Morning thread! And yes, I accidentally picked Udina in the conversation, despite never having done so in ME1, and he was Councillor when I got to the Citadel. Lame.
And now I have to get ready for work, but I needed my morning KAST fix.

For now, I think that my current Shep is going to romance Garrus, since she's another one I just started in ME2. I am curious to see though how the paramour achievement will affect the game in general, since you automatically get it as soon as you romance one of the ME2 LIs, no matter which one of your characters does that. I really hope, that my faithful savegame will have some important effects on that because there I didn't have that achievement.
Horizon with a new ME2 character is even more blah since you just get a handshake from Kaidan, NO hug! BLAH!!!!! But once I've finished my second ME1 playthrough and import my mainshep once again into ME2, I should get the hug again *giggles*
And although I started ME2 as Vanguard, I restarted it because I just love being an adept. Those biotic skills are so much better when my shep has them instead of relying on others.

I've played ME2 as a solider, adept, sentinel and vanguard and by far the vanguard is my favorite class but it's not for everyone. There's a certain level of insanity associated with it .

Kaidan is channeling Malcolm Cousland from the CGI trailers for Dragon Age (which were actually cool!). He looks like he's about to slay the ArchReaper!

I can't wait for Kaidan to come back in ME3. I really can't. It's gonna be really interesting. And I love the whole speculation that's going on. And to see how people want to see the reunion happen.

You know, you could be playing as a male Shepard and get the paramour achievement. Why in the world would it affect for femShep's romance with Kaidan.
I think when Bioware talked about tracking the achievement, it was just for statistics. Not for continuation onto ME3. I don't see why they would have such an intricate system of save and importation, then screw it all up with an achievement that would change all the players' characters.
