I don't think you can compare Jack and Morinth. Morinth will never be able to resist her urge to kill while in Jack's case it is indeed a matter of growing and overcoming her past. Although Jack has a bad temper, she used to kill because she never had any other choice. Shep showing her that there is another way, may open her eyes. Morinth however will never stop killing because it is in her nature.

Not necessarily expendable but I like how you have to get to know them better to see that there is more to them so you want to do everything possible to get them through the suicide mission alive. Shady doesn't mean bad person.

I am not convinced that Morinth's first or second kill weren't intentional. Certainly, she made the choice to escape the Asari authorities.

Beyond her killings, she also enslaved an entire village of people to worship her as a Goddess. That isn't exactly the picture of morality.

I will also add that Morinth herself says that she does not settle for just anyone. Her killings are meticulous and she specifically waits for targets that interest her - which is not most people. That does not sound like an addict who cannot control herself, rather it sounds like someone who should be held responsible for her actions.

exactly. she is the perfect picture of a serial killer! she doesn't kill random people. she picks her victims by certain characteristics, which is why Samara knows exactly how to use Shep as bait.

Sorry for further OffT, but... My impression of the scene where Morinth is killing Shepard (did the youtube quest) was different. Not that she ensured Shepard, just... seemed curious. You can feel about Morinth in two ways - take everything she tells for a crafty lie, or still don't trust her, but believe that she really looks for... someone.

But yeah, a poor shy artist girl couldn't have strong personality. I don't know if Morinth really liked her or just wanted to manipulate her. Grey. Grey everywhere!

To be fair, Paragon!Shepard can bring out the best in people.  So if Morinth ate Paragon!Shepard, she might repent and carry on in Shepard's footsteps.

Ofcourse I want each fan to get the third chapter with their own chosen LI, don't wish what we went through in ME2 upon others, but personally I would toss them all out of the airlock in a heartbeat to make room for Kaidan/his dialogue/scenes and whatever. Well cept for Garrus who remains my Shep's best friend

Re Morinth - don't forget all her talk in her apartment about how she loves the look in her opponents eyes before she kills them & whatnot.  she knows exactly what she's doing.  she is pure evil.  I don't particularly like Samara that much either but she is the lesser of the 2 evils to me, lol
