I would have liked the VS doing the mission, but the problem would have been people whining about immersion. Of course, there's that immersion-breaking Joker mission instead which doesn't get any points with me.

It was an okay dlc, but they did have to do it for the single Sheps out there. The Pressley part was good though. They did customize a flashback of whoever died on Virmire, but I would have liked a quick flashback if you had a romance. That wouldn't have taken any time at all (same with Kasumi mentioning th4e VS)

Ah, yes. 'Whiners'. I would so love to dismiss that claim.

I hadn't considered the single Sheps out there, so that is a very valid point. I did like the Pressley bit...it's what made me want a bit more from the rest of the DLC.

it would have been inifintely more impactful for me had kaidan been in shepard's role. the renewed pain caused by discovering shepard's helmet thus reliving their last moments together. the overwhelming grief of her death still lingering in his mind and heart.

This.
The DLC itself begged for grief and sorrow in the quiet way it was displayed, but it lacked it for me. I could never get over the fact that it took the Alliance two frickin' years to find the wreckage and do anything about it. The Normandy was at the front of the attack on the Citadel, it's crew was instrumental in defeating him and, oh, BTW, we can't be bothered to go find the site.
It would have been rather poignant to have the VS survivor be the one struggling to come to terms with the destruction and the loss. Perhaps even keeping the helmet...or dog tags...as a reminder of what was lost.

Question regarding the Normandy DLC. Do you think it would have been more compelling had the VS been the one to run around the wreckage collecting dog tags, placing the monument, finding the helmet, rather than having Shepard do it?
I don't like the DLC...it makes little sense to me...but in wondering what they could have done to fix it, it occured to me that it could have been a very compelling bit of DLC had they simply changed out Shepard for the Virmire Survivor. Particularly if they placed it in a time shortly after the Normandy went down rather than two years later.
I can see Kaidan finding the dog tags, flashing back in some areas and it would actually have been a bit more emotional for me. Particularly if they had a night before Ilos flashback of some kind.

They don't pay attention to us:crying:

I didn't like it just for the big mistake they made with the normandy, It was supposed to be teared apart where it said NORMANDY but in the DLC you see that part of the ship perfectly fine. That big mistake shows how much effort they putted in that DLC.

This.  That was kinda ...uh...hey.. Wtf?

Also, I 'd have liked to bring at least Tali and Garrus down with me.

Ah well... that's what fics are for.

I was like that too:huh:
and I don't see why you couldn't take them with you, they were part of that crew too<_<

I think it would have been nice to have the VS do it, it makes more sense then having Shepard do it.  I had them all go down in my Fic and it was very emotional to write in and play it at the same time.  But at least it proves that Hackett could get a hold of you if he wanted.  I did expect more Alliance missions after that instead of more Cerberus DLC

@Sirius, Ruby, OdS,Jane and yes you too Phoenix .. sent you PM

Carry On!!!  *slinks away with sniper rifle still aimed*

I really need to get the Kasumi DLC just for that dress. x_x

what I don't quite understand is, why was the Normandy somewhere else than the escape pods? I mean, they found the survivors, how could they not find the ship? or do the escape pods just float around in space, waiting to be picked up? I thought, they crashed onto the planet as well? weird....

I doubt those things were shielded for atmo entry. Plus you usually can't steer a pod, so even if they were shielded, no telling where you'd have landed. So, no... floating in space.

I always thought that the fact that Alchera was out in the Terminus was one of the major reasons that they didn't have anyone going out to find and recover the wreckage.

Yes. Yes he does. Warden looks too rough and LOOK AT MY Y CHROMOSOME... looking for me.

Don't get me wrong, he's still an attractively drawn guy (and I like the whole Y Chromosome screaming-thing), I just think Kaidan... smoulders more? In his version.  His eyes definitely follow you, that's for sure.  The Warden's... not so much.

There's some kind of difference in the ruggedness, isn't there.  Perhaps its more in the hardness of the features.  Stony.
Kaidan is ruggedly handsome, but has a little...I don't know, softeness to him.  Not pretty like the Final Fantasy men.  But not hardened.  His personality has a lot to do with it, though, too.
I was excited by Carth's voice being in ME and knew from the moment that Kaidan opened his mouth that he was my romantic choice--even if there had been another male choice it would have been Kaidan because of his voice.  I thought it was too bad that his looks initially didn't do too much for me.  (I'm more into fair with dark hair and blue eyes)  But it was Kaidan's personality that really got to me.  So strong and secure in himself without being a d***.  But had a sweetness and sensitivity to him as well.
///
As to the speedos, I guess I spent too much time around the swim team in college.  I don't have quite the aversion to them that you all do apparently--as long as the guy has the body to pull it off--which Kaidan does in spades.  Posted Image

Yeah, I prefer digital men who look old enough to shave. ;)

LOL!  Absolutely!
That's the thing I've vastly preferred Carth and Kaidan to FF.  They are men.  Even Alistair although rugged is a grown up boy learning to be a man.  Like Shepard says, I don't want a puppy.

Jane:
well, who knows what the citadel doctor has given our Kaidan Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image oh boy, i was just about to answer that myself but that is toooooo mind-in-gutter-ish

Posted Image  You really think he slept with her?  He doesn't do casual sex and he said that the thing with the doctor wasn't anything serious.
No.
He wouldn't!
Would he?  Posted Image

///

@Thane romance:  the only option in ME2 that is at all interesting--probably because his seems to have the most layers.  I do admit, I like the open front of his out fit, too.
AKODO:  "Is it green?"  --perhaps it matches the his neck.
*shudders*  Okay, that wasn't a pleasant thought.  LOL

@ the Normandy crash site:  I agree with jane in that it gave me shivers, also.

@ Escape pods:  They are okay with re-entry in Star Wars  Posted Image

Yeah... act of war, and all that.

Then why was the Normandy there in the first place? Based on that logic, they should never have been assigned to the area at all. Not as a Spectre and not as an Alliance ship.
Aaaaaand we're back to why the DLC makes no sense to me, lol.

I can appreciate what they were trying to do with the DLC, I just think it could have been executed a bit better. But then I feel the same way about Horizon, lol. I need to remember to separate the story from the game play when it comes to these little things.

@Jaer: The Normandy was a stealth ship. They were patrolling in Stealth mode when the Collector ship hit it. Remember, they were investigating "geth activity reports" - and it wouldn't be much of a stretch to send a stealth ship in to verify claims. Even into the Terminus.

Okay about Thane... gills on the neck... sorry still going with it's a lizard!!

I don't think the Citadel doctor was more then a attempt to join the living again that failed. Kaidan tells you he thought he had on Horizon (and no I don't what to rehash it) but It was obvious even with the animation problems in that seen he hadn't and he knew it.

Besides you don't have to worry about that Sesh took care of all the female doctors on the Citadel.

Yeah, what Sapphy said, Jaer. No one but a Collector ship would have spotted them. The Normandy's the only ship that can run around The Terminus with impunity.

I'm certain that the retrieval of the pods took some heavy negotiations in order to allow any Alliance/Council vessel in to rescue survivors.
