I would have liked the VS doing the mission, but the problem would have been people whining about immersion. Of course, there's that immersion-breaking Joker mission instead which doesn't get any points with me.
It was an okay dlc, but they did have to do it for the single Sheps out there. The Pressley part was good though. They did customize a flashback of whoever died on Virmire, but I would have liked a quick flashback if you had a romance. That wouldn't have taken any time at all (same with Kasumi mentioning th4e VS)
Ah, yes. 'Whiners'. I would so love to dismiss that claim.
I hadn't considered the single Sheps out there, so that is a very valid point. I did like the Pressley bit...it's what made me want a bit more from the rest of the DLC.

it would have been inifintely more impactful for me had kaidan been in shepard's role. the renewed pain caused by discovering shepard's helmet thus reliving their last moments together. the overwhelming grief of her death still lingering in his mind and heart.
This.
The DLC itself begged for grief and sorrow in the quiet way it was displayed, but it lacked it for me. I could never get over the fact that it took the Alliance two frickin' years to find the wreckage and do anything about it. The Normandy was at the front of the attack on the Citadel, it's crew was instrumental in defeating him and, oh, BTW, we can't be bothered to go find the site.
It would have been rather poignant to have the VS survivor be the one struggling to come to terms with the destruction and the loss. Perhaps even keeping the helmet...or dog tags...as a reminder of what was lost.
