Yes the dreaming god one, I think the last book I read was twilight (again Image IPB) before that Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson, it's ok, I wouldn't rush out to buy it ar anything.

I've heard mixed things about George R MArtin, at least I think it was him, like he kills everone off, not the kind of thing I like really.

Yeah, I read some George R.R. Martin, stopped once I got tired of seeing him spending each new book thinking of just how many ways he could screw up his characters'  lives.  Not my cup of tea at all.

My husband is so p'od at Martin since he wrote half a series and stopped, it's not a good topic to bring up in my house.

Yeah, that did peeve me off too. I want to know MOAR and his book has been a WIP for over three years I think?

Since we are on the subject of fantasy writers, and I always fail to find people who actually have read the books so I'm curious... Anyone familiar with Katherine Kerr's books about Deverry?

And yeah, I could picture Kaidan being a reader of most subjects, but especially military history and fictional novels. Tehehe, I can't help but getting the idea of Kaidan and Joker spending time comparing old sci-fi books to the movie adaptions...

I don't think Kaidan would be that harsh against Miranda who, for all her flaws, did ultimately bring Shepard back to life, and in her logs Miranda seems quite reverent of Shep as a space hero and all.
I'm sure he'd have some words for Miranda, and Liara but in the end alive Shep is better than dead Shep!
Well unless she becomes a Cerberus stooge but nobody likes that ending.

I think after a few days reflection Kaidan wouldn't be quite so angry at Miranda but I do think while listening to her logs there would be one about the discussion she had with TIM about a control chip and Miranda's disappointment at being veto'd on that and that would definitely play into Kaidan's perceptions about Miranda.

I wish I had even a little bit of talent at writing, I’ve had a story in my mind for awhile now with serious Kaidan angst in it.

Lets face it, coming back from the dead would be very hard to comprehend or believe.   While Kaidan might believe it is the truth on some level, on another level he would have a hard time really believing that Shepard hadn’t just been hiding out with Cerberus for 2+ years.

This fic would fit neatly after Demigod & Joker's little talk with Kaidan.   In this story it would have Joker dumping everything he managed to hack out of the Cerberus database having to do with project Lazerus on Kaidan; Miranda’s logs, scientific data and of course pictures & videos of Shepard from beginning to end of the project. The end point of the data would be a video of Shepard waking up under gunfire, he’d see her in pain, scars at their worst struggling to get up and defend herself and just to make it really painful calling out his name at the end.

I think Kaidan would start drinking as soon as he started playing Miranda’s logs, the first one would be a discussion of corpse retrieval and of Liara’s role in providing Cerberus with the body and as much as he tried to keep himself from doing it he would have to look at the pictures of Shepards’ corpse. Kaidan would also be enraged by the snide comments by the scientists about the woman he loves.   You know they would be commenting on her appearance and lamenting that they couldn’t make her more attractive.   I think Kaidan would also be having thoughts of all the grim things he would do to Miranda if he ever got the chance to meet up with her one on one.

I think that Kaidan would need a few days to sort everything out in his mind after going through all the info Joker gave him but he would be resolved to trying to pick up the pieces of the relationship and make it work again. However since we’re in an angst heavy story he’d find out that Shepard had just taken her team through the Omega 4 relay and all he could do at that point is just wait and see if the woman he loves survives and returns to him.

So that's a summary of what my one shot piece would be if I had any writing ablitliy at all.

Would love to see this in a fanfic :)

FIVE long years...I am a huge G.R.R. Martin fan, but the series will never be completed, at this rate, even if A Dance With Dragons ever comes out.

I really enjoy Joe Abercrombie, Steven Erikson, Robin Hobb, and Terry Goodkind lately, but I grew up on authors like Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Melanie Rawn, and David Eddings.  But I'll read anything, if it's good.

Alright, so one of my random thoughts about Kaidan yesterday involved the picture in FemShep's cabin.  I was wondering how it got there.  It seemed the ship was prepped and ready to go as soon as FemShep was done talking with the IM.  All of FemShep's armor is supplied to her through the IM or by purchasing it in stores.  It seems unlikely to me IM would place a pic of Kaidan in FemShep's cabin out of the goodness of his heart (considering I am not sure he has one).  Especially, after the conversation between the two of them post-Horizon where the IM basically tells FemShep to put Kaidan out of her mind.  Maybe Joker put it there?  Or even possibly Kelly or Dr. Chakwas?  Anyway, just wondering about it.

Oh... I didn't realise she meant THE actual twilight - I thought it was just a book called twilight in the series that they where on about.

Dunno how long Shepard was on that station before talking to TIM or how much time passed between talking to him and actually boarding the Normandy. Doubt Joker would ever think about a detail like that.
Indeed a funny thing to think about. Who got the picture and even bought a frame for it before placing it on Shepard's desk in her private quarters....Chakwas possibly, most likely Kelly.

Speaking of Kelly, why the hell did she bring a stripper outfit onboard the Normandy on a suicide mission anyway? ;)

I feel like I've got to read a whole lot more XD too many good authors... I've got some Anne McCaffrey and Frank Herbert here from the older ones. Lately also quite addicted to R.A. Salvatores Forgotten Realms books.

I've read quite a few nice examples of fanfic here. Keep up the good writing peeps :D

One of the Shenko fanfics mentioned that Shepard found the picture going through the files Cerberus had that she had access to and she copied the pic into the frame herself.  I tend to go with that explanation for it.

And I really hate to ask but uh what stripper outfit, I seemed to have missed that in my playthroughs.

It must have been a while, because when you look at the Normandy video, the name isn't painted on the hull yet. Noticed it while I was looking after a good reference of the ship for some artwork.
