...it's a metaphor, I'm telling you.

Kaidan: Well, don’t let anybody know. A big gun and a confident attitude will get you through a lot in life.

I'm not very confident in the gutter, I think I'll jump straight to the groping.

If you're talking about appearances, yes... they definitely aged him in ME2, though part of that may simply be the enhanced graphics.  Personality-wise I think he's also changed.  We never really got to see much of the leader side of him in ME1, and Horizon gives us more of a chance to see that.  Guess that's another thing to add to my Kaidan wish list for ME3. and
Fire Eye
I think he's experienced a lot more than he had before since joining up with Shepard and Anderson.  End of the galaxy crap, both in the literal sense and the personal sense.

Not to say he didn't have experience before he joined the Normandy, just that it was on a different level.

... Although it's also hard for me to say, since he's not in ME2 very long.
More lines around his eyes.  I dunno.  More sophisticated looking in ME2.
I've just noticed with playing ME1 again how...new he seems (idealistic?).
But with all they went through on SR1, losing his love violently like he did and then all the buerocratic crap on the Citadel he'd have changed.
I like the leader quality to him that we see emerging.  Quite attractive, rather than how he followed along in most of ME1 (although still attractive there, too).  Still learning his position.

I think this time apart for him and Shep has potential for making them more of equals in ME3 than they were previous.  Especially since, as was pointed out earlier today by someone, Kaidan is even able to stand up against Shepard.  We don't like it.  But it is probably a good sign of his character develoopment.

Well, time for bed and some FF.

Goodnight all!  And thanks for reading my message and giving me feedback today.  Posted Image

I was thinking about that a couples days ago when I did the Horizon scene. He just seemed really... tired. He just seemed tired. His voice sounded really tired too.

It may of just been Horizon and it's sunny scene, but his skin tone looked.. paler? Lighter than it was before.

I'd say this is true.  I noticed it the first time around - he does seem worn out.  Although then, I attributed it to his being aggravated at the assignment (what, with the "everybody hates me" bit that's revealed).

Poor Kaidan.  :(

Heh - I wish you did. Not that I don't wanna talk but my intention to go to bed today before 3 am just died... it's deader than dead *sighs* 3:08 am... and all due to a massive headache that needed attention and painkillers.

Ok, so it looks like  I missed you, Ki!  *pouts*

Sorry your head is bothering you though.

It's ironic how I adore Kaidan because of his personality. Nice guy, mellow, ect ect, yet in Bleach, I can't help but adore the creeper above all else. Posted Image

As far as manga/shonen goes anyway, he's the only one who you cannot figure out in the series.

This may sound like a loaded question, but I'm genuinely curious how other people feel:

I found ME2 to be a let down.  Still haven't found the root of why just yet, only that I had less fun with ME2 than I did with ME1 a month prior.

For those of you who feel let down by ME2, would it have made things better to have had Kaidan/Ashley as a squadmate?  For those of you who enjoyed ME2 through and through, you can read the question, "Would having had Kaidan/Ashley as a squadmate made the perfect game?" or just oogle this Kaidan, whichever you prefer:

I did have a lingering nostalgic feeling depression with me the first time I played through the game, since so much that was so familiar was different. I was perfectly fine with how Horizon ended up apart from Shep's bloody awful dialogue. They had to be written out and they were, It worked for me, but it could of been done so much better on Shep's part.

I did feel down that some familiar people were left out and got... emails.

Here's to Wrex riding a nuke into space towards the Reapers while shooting dragons? And some Kaidans.

^this and i became quite attached to ash/kaidan in me1.  they were my shep's best friends.  when i had to sacrifice one, i was crushed.  then in me2 the other was reduced to a cameo so i think i purposely distanced myself from caring about any of the characters the way i did ash/kaidan.  i assumed as soon as i developed a fondness for my crewmates that i'd lose them again.

I think there were a few things that I liked about ME2. The gameplay is greatly improved. Not having to spend points so that your weapon is more effective is great. The updated graphics really were awesome. I'm quite sure that there are better grapics out there but, I play on the 360 and the graphics will never be equal to that of the pc however, I'm o.k with that.

Story really sucked a** I was hoping for a story better than ME but, what I got was a load of ****. I know they said that this was the darker chapter and that ME3 will be lighter I have to wonder why in the world would I be happier about possibly meeting my doom with the reapers. And though I have to accept the reasons on why they said we couldn't recruit our ME LI's it still doesn't make sense to mePosted Image

I can't agree more and come up with anything to add about, maybe except this: Yeah, keeping them away from the threat makes some sense, but having them close and then not letting them join on the final mission wouldn't be so bad too (yes, I'm aware that has a lot of advantages and disadvantages, and "what about the others?", but I'm not gonna dwell on that).

My thoughts on ME2 v's ME1 :

ME2 felt like a bunch of dlc tacked together for me. The laundry list of loyalty quests took too much away from the main story which had far too little immersion. It didn't flow like the story of ME1 and the side missions didn't really tie in with the main one like they did in ME1. There were too many loopholes in ME2 and given that they put the Kaidan and Ash people through the Virmire decision in ME1 there was nothing remotely similar in ME2. The so-called suicide mission was made to be all very dramatic but it fell flat when it was ridiculously easy to get everyone out alive.

I play for story so ME1 was by far the better game for me. I got immersed in the story line of ME1 which I didn't in ME2. I just couldn't accept that my Shep would work with Cerberus on TIM's say so and the fact that no-one was all that shocked/surprised to see Shepard not only alive, but cruising around in an exact copy of the Normandy got to me too - not even a comment from Anderson/Hackett or anyone else, apart from Wrex who mentioned something about having a nice new ship - how the hell did he know, lol. and for femshep the LI's weren't a patch on Kaidan seeing as they were supposed to be so compelling - yuck. Also the planet scanning got really old after the first 1/2 dozen planets, lol

Morning everyone

The thing I liked about ME that ME2 lacked was the ability to choose your own route. In ME if you didn't want to recruit someone you didn't have to (except Kaidan & Ash) but in two you have to recruit the first 4 and have no choice / well unless you own the DLC for Zaeed or Katsumi then they can replace one of the others.

I also don't like the mission structure of ME2 were you're dropped in - there is a linear "road" you travel then you leave - I liked that each planet in ME had different things to explore.

Ok that is my take...

Carry On!

yeah but you still get stuck with both Tali and Liara.  The only ones you can leave out are either Garrus or Wrex and I'd rather have both of them than Liara and Tali , lol.Posted Image
I must have a warped game because I still have to recruit Garrus, Mordin, Jack, & Grunt even if I have both kasumi and Zaeed before Horizon will trigger, so no replacements for me.  With the exception of Tali, I like most of the ME2 squad, and would probably recruit them all even if I didn't have to, lol

I totally agree with you Night. You could explore the planets a lot more freely in ME1. ME2 was all like you must go this way and then this way, kinda took the fun out of it. And i didn't like how you were just thrown into some of the missions like the "derelict" reaper one and Horizon. I didn't mind with Freedoms Progress as it was the first proper mission of the game but still it would have been nice to be able to choose where you wanted to go like in ME1.

And with Kaidan/Ash not being recruitable, at first i was miffed about it and even though i would love to have seen more Kaidan in the game - maybe have more dialouge with him, I can understand that they did it so they can ensure their survival for ME3.
