I actually thought they might have been trying to get rid of the ME1 LI's with the whole Horizon scene, and the fact they made Liara so totally different. They probably thought we'd all rush the ME2 LI's in a fit of anger after Horizon, because we all know that Jacob, Garrus, and Thane were so 'compelling'.

They brought Garrus and Tali back..... but I rather have Ash,Kaidan and Liara..... my loyal shepards get no loving.
Well I didn't find them very compelling but I'm sure Casey Hudson used that word in an interview at one time to describe the ME2 LI's (otherwise it was a similar sort of word, lol). I found them more cringeworthy than anything else. I'd rather have Kaidan than any of them.kraidy1117 wrote...

Garrus, Thane and Jacob where compelling? They are good characters but majority of my femsheps stayed loyal to Kaidan or Liara.

I'm still holding on to some hope, but some people interpreted the email as a breakup so I guess it depends on what you read into it, lol. I took it as hesitant and Kaidan leaving himself a way out in case, and leaving it up to Shep. It actually gave me hope as well that we could get Kaidan back next time around. But.. the email? It gives me a smidgen of hope. I'm grasping at straws, but I need to hold onto something!
I couldn't get into the LI's in the second one. I found Jacob kind of creepy, Garrus was more of a friend to my Shep and I just couldn't get pass Thane's voice.

After the cookie cutter approach they took in ME2 towards Kaidan and Ash I expect more of the same in ME3. Its frustrating because they are such totally different characters. Its one of the reasons why I hope Kaidan or Ash don't turn out to be Spectres. I can see Kaidan being picked as a Spectre, but not Ash (sorry to the Ash fans).Systemlord Baal wrote...

I mean that they have too much of the same dialog in ME3, having Kaidan say or do things that are more things that Ashley would or do and vice versa.
What are your thoughts on that? I mean, I'm guess you don't want that, you want them having unique dialogues and other content, but do you think BW will implement unique stuff for both or will they take the "easy" route?
