I believe that's the PC mod that allows you to use other characters' casual outfits.

Random question: but how did you use Kaidan in combat during ME1? As an Infiltrator, I took Garrus and Kaidan specifically for their tech abilities. The only reason I took Kaidan over Tali is because he had Neural Shock.

I nearly always took Kaidan. I tended to keep a balanced party and he was an important part of that.  I frequently played either as a vanguard or an infiltrator so he was an important part of balancing both the biotic and tech capabilities of the team.  I usually paired him with Wrex or Garrus.  Although I do like the combination of Wrex and Tali as well.

As a soldier, I pumped up his biotics to max and put whatever was left half each into his tech and medical skills.  Then I let him do his own thing, since he was very good at it.

He usually threw bad guys on their backs when I plowed straight into them, destroyed their shields, allowed me to open lockers for goodies and all the good electronic stoof... Overall, he wins.

When I played an Adept, I took Liara and Kaidan for the most part, concentrating on Kaidan's biotic abilities more than the tech. Turned that around when I went with an Infiltrator. I know Bioware was pushing for balanced squads, but if I'm going to be tossing enemies around with some Throws and Lifts, it's only fun when others join in. As a tech, everyone gets a sabotage. And if that means a Krogan, he gets a neural shock afterwards.

Hhhm. So far I played through only with soldiers, and I tend to take Kaidan and either Ashley or Wrex. One time I took Kaidan and Liara to face off against Saren-Husk and I sat there watching them beat the crap out of him. It was great.

This is why I make sure I have tons of grenades and/or Tali with her tech-bot orb.

 Kaidan's a balancing element to your team no matter what class you play as, so I don't understand the "worthless" claim either. He has enough biotics and tech to incapacitate, if not kill, every enemy you face. Shep can handle cleanup well enough alone. Insanity seems fun with this setup as a vanguard and Wrex as your third party member.

What a dynamo.

modded coalesced.ini from here that unlocks all outfits from other characters and npcs
