Kaidan has got the ability to be a spectre, but I guess that´s Shepard´s part and I so I don't see Kaidan being a spectre either.
I think Kaidan will continue to work for Anderson. But maybe it depends on in which time ME3 plays.
Will it be another two years or just a couple months... I don´t think he'll get promoted again, that would be very fast...imo.

edit// because is top of the page :)

Maybe they'll break Ashley and Kaidan's stories apart again for ME3. There have been other games that have two characters that you can't recruit at once (Star Ocean 2, for example).

... probably not, though.

Nope. So many possible crewmates now, so many LI's, so many possible deaths of said crewmates or LI's. Will they write full stories for each character that could be dead on a lot of people's playthrough? No idea. But doubtful.
At least with Kaidan and Ash they can write a detailed role and apply it to whomever is still alive in a playthrough. The ME2 characters don't have that 'luxury' sadly.

I hate waiting.

Hopefully, the detailed role for Kaidan and the detailed role for Ashley will be written so that its unique for each of them, but still fulfilling the same purpose (since its only one or the other of them).

New fic.  In theory.  First chapter did not want to be written.  Proceed with caution.  <_<

In the event that said fic is unsatisfactory, have a Kaidan, too:

My fear still is they'll make Kaidan captain of a ship and thus not a squadmate. I am curious to see what this 'big role' will turn out to be though. I'm still hoping on him becoming an Alliance liaison onboard the SR-2.

Sorry for the late reply - was having lunch ^^
I don't think he'll be Captain of a ship anytime soon. I imagined once that he takes command of a ship in the battle against the Reapers (like the Final battle), but nothing like that in the early stages since he has to be able to get back on the Normandy, right? ^_^ I could see him as Alliance liaison though. It would be rather cool
actually, but I wonder if he would be able to do missions with you, as a real squadmate or if he'd "just" be on the ship to talk to. I guess him being on the Normandy would be a huge step in the right direction, though :-)

I just read it and I can't wait to read more. I like it so far. Looks like we most of us have Shepard's that don't really know what to do with time off :)

As far as I recall all the Star Ocean games work this way, 'The Last Hope', has only one character choice though, that you can replace one character with another at a specific trigger point in the game. :) I think it is the only possible way that BioWare could keep ALL the fans happy. Choose between, say - Miranda and Jack, or Kaidan and Jacob, Liara and Samara/Morinth and so on......
It certainly would be in keeping with the whole choice and consequence thing they keep telling us we have ;)
If you had eight slots who would be your 'dream team'?
I'd have
1) Kaidan (no brainer on that one)
2) Liara (even though reave is an amazing ability)
3) Thane
4) Wrex
5) Mordin
6) Kasumi (but with dialogue)
7) Zaeed  (as above)
8) Eh, I guess I would go with Garrus for old time's sake ;)
I think that's it  but I do waver on some of them! I don't suppose they will do that (far too much tracking etc.) but it would be interesting having total control. Or if they made (like Jacob and Miranda) the first couple of slots non optional as Kaidan/Ash and Liara and allowed freedom of choice with other characters in which case I would add Samara and Grunt (or Jack) Tali would be encouraged back to the migrant fleet with a letter for Kal Reeger, lol!
Have I put too much thought into this?

1) Garrus
2) Kaidan
3) Grunt
4) Jack

6) Tali

Tbh I could leave it there, dont really care for miranda, jacob or liara. Havent played with Zaeed or Katsumi yet. Actually probably would add Mordin as a 7th though

Hopefully we can take Kaidan with us when we go to meet the Illusive Man in ME3/Take Cerberus down.  It will be a fun bonding experience.  ^_^

That would be great.  More like he's a permanent team-up rather than "On your squad" thing.

Random question: but how did you use Kaidan in combat during ME1? As an Infiltrator, I took Garrus and Kaidan specifically for their tech abilities. The only reason I took Kaidan over Tali is because he had Neural Shock.

I always take Kaidan.  He has biotics and tech.  I like him to make things go "boom" from a distance.  Last time I was an adept and this time a Sentinel like him.  I tend to use my pistol rather little.  Tali is a nice addition against geth.  With two sentinels and her, the Mako repairs are very quick and the geth are cleared out in short order.

Also, it's not like I haven't been watching this every day for the past month or so, but... it's time to share!

Wonderful fan vid. Ten times better than the comfort food I ate after Horizon. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Where did they get some of those sound clips?  I don't remember some of those lines?  KOTOR?
I still love "Thinking of Horizon" best of the fan videos that I have seen:

... That reminds me of something I've been wondering... What's everybody gonna do once ME3 is released and the story is "over"?  Posted Image

Scuttlebutt is that there is going to be multiplayer online stuff for ME3.  So if Kaidan is teamed up, run around the universe taking stuff down with him at Kimbri's side.  Posted Image

6. Miranda ( I admit, after I had disliked her first, I do like her)

I like Grunt, but Wrex is Wrex ...and if I could make a choice I would take Wrex with me ...

Hi :D
Miranda is OK-ish and having warp and overload can come in handy if you are playing sentinel, but I just really don't like her attitude to Shepard at the start and I have a long memory ;) Same could be said for Jack, but her redeeming feature is Shockwave and its ability to clear a room of husks, lol!

@ Jen...

Miranda started to be okay, after helping her with her sister and I loved it, when she sided with you on the collector base, after you had refused to TIM to keep the base. That was really cool...

Oh, and Jack´s Shockwave.... yeah, nothing against that... My femshep took Jack´s attitude not so serious, because she knew, that Jack´s past must have been a horror trip... So she oversees a lot of Jack`s behaving...;)

Kaidan
Garrus
Wrex
Samara
Tali
Mordin
Thane
Katsumi

bump!
No matter how much I force myself to like Jack, I just cannot. I've been neutral towards her, so I never discussed about her anywhere.
I'd like:
Kaidan
Garrus
Wrex
Mordin
Liara
Miranda
Legion
Samara

Tali, go for Kal and settle down, lol..
