Alright, so one of my random thoughts about Kaidan yesterday involved the picture in FemShep's cabin.  I was wondering how it got there.  It seemed the ship was prepped and ready to go as soon as FemShep was done talking with the IM.  All of FemShep's armor is supplied to her through the IM or by purchasing it in stores.  It seems unlikely to me IM would place a pic of Kaidan in FemShep's cabin out of the goodness of his heart (considering I am not sure he has one).  Especially, after the conversation between the two of them post-Horizon where the IM basically tells FemShep to put Kaidan out of her mind.  Maybe Joker put it there?  Or even possibly Kelly or Dr. Chakwas?  Anyway, just wondering about it.

Now that is a question I never thought of...odd. I wouldn't think Joker would be the type but I could see  Chakwas putting it there.

You know I don't hate the Mako, I hate the terrain! So irritating, oh and Kaidan's well cute when you try to talk to him in the middle of a fught, 'Not now, Commander!' it's like he's all infuriated *giggles*

Oh my god, I can't believe I'm reading this! I woke up this morning, started making coffee and began wondering exactly this myself! She wouldn't have had any pics of him on her that could possibly have survived what happened to the SR-1 of course.

I started thinking about this in a fanficcy sort of way, and I can see Shep being all heartbroken and confused by her resurrection and desperately trying to find out what happened to Kaidan. Angry that no one wants to talk about him (seriously, Joker, lame response there), she furiously starts future-googling him since she doesn't have access to Alliance records like she used to anymore, but only comes up with a grainy picture of the Normandy crew together after the victory at the Citadel: Kaidan is at her side - everyone's standing at attention, so you can't tell, but her right hand is touching his left one.

Angst! Despair! Off to the Citadel to interrogate Anderson it is, but woe! He won't tell her anything, and at this point, who's to say that he's even still alive, if he's off the grid on some sort of top secret mission?! She comes back to the Normandy, raging on the inside, heads up to her quarters, only to freeze in the doorway when she notices someone's put that picture of him on her desk.

I like to think that Joker had an attack of guilt about what happened on the SR-1 and had EDI hack into Alliance records, and they were able to get a hold of Kaidan's most recent official pic from his personnel file.

And it would indeed make a good fanfic.:)

Great minds think alike :)  I would like to think maybe Joker felt guilty and decided he owed it to my FemShep and Kaidan to help preserve their relationship b/c in a way he is the reason they are not together.  Of course, Dr. Chakwas probably noticed my FemShep constantly hanging around Kaidan on the original Normandy and put two and two together.  Maybe she felt the picture would help my FemShep get through the trials ahead of them, give her a reason to fight and survive.

Yeah, I definitely like to think it was either Joker or Chakwas. I don't think any of the Cerberus crew would do it, unless they were doing it to be cruel. "Gaze upon this picture of your hot boyfriend and despair! It's been two years since you've seen him! He could be dead! He could be married! He has no idea you're even alive! Mwahaha!"

If I find out Cerberus did it as some sick, cruel joke I will be turning all of them into smoothies, starting with TIM.

I want to turn TIM into a smoothie regardless.

Still think we should have gotten Harry Potter like pictures, or just holograms with a moving image of Kaidan. All that tech and we still get a simple framed picture ;)

So, who's writing the Cerberus Network News every day? Because can't the writer come up with a few Kaidan mails or something? *shakes fist*

Don't know, and I totally agree with you.

I kind of had this idea... doesn't really fit with the fact that the picture is there from the start, but hey, anything's possible in the imagination, right?  So this is what I came up with:

With a heavy heart, Commander Shepard picked her lonely way through the rubble of the Normandy's crash site.  Despite the incredibly thorough job the Collectors had done on the ship, a surprising amount of the wreckage was actually recognizable.  There was the cockpit, where she had been standing when she was blown into space.  There were the pits where the crew used to work at their terminals.  There was the table they had eaten their meals at, trapped under a pile of debris, and the cramped little sleeper pods everyone loved to hate.  Even her own personal quarters were relatively intact, though her mother would have had a few sharp words for her had she seen the state of them.  As she laid a hand on the bed where she and Kaidan had spent their first night together, a glint of light reflecting off broken glass caught her eye.  Half-covered by dirt and debris was the picture of Kaidan she used to keep on her nightstand.  The glass was shattered beyond repair, but the picture itself was miraculously intact.  Shepard wasn't normally a particularly religious woman, but right then she thanked whatever gods may be for leaving her this one thing, this infinitely precious reminder of the life she'd once had, the life she still hoped to have again someday.

Yeah, I think Joker's the one who started rumors about their relationship, that he's well aware of Shep's continued feelings for Kaidan and hopes that things work out for them... and while he is a good guy (in my mind), I don't see him being quiiiite the type to put a picture of him on Shep's desk for her. Chakwas, on the other hand, also (obviously) knew about their relationship, and is much more the confiding-type, someone who would (without even mentioning it or saying anything) secretly put said picture on the desk for her.

fanfic idea... Shep coming into her new quarters, feeling as out of place as ever in them.... and then seeing that picture. Those eyes. Love and longing rushing in on her as she goes to pick it up. Tears start to fall as she traces his face with her finger...

On a somewhat Kaidan-related note, I'm going to be visiting Vancouver over spring break, at least for a day or two.  Now I'm going to be imagining that one of the houses I pass belongs to Kaidan's family Image IPB

That's really nice Josian...I loved the Normandy crash site and for Shep to find the picture there paints a beautiful picture.

I was just watch Kaidan at the orange terminal thing and it just occurred to me how funny it would be to sneak up on him and grab his bum!

And what the hell is he doing at that thing?! And why does it require him to bend over, not that I mind that part, just curious.

That orange terminal really bugged me, took up far too much of Kaidans time, why did it need such constant attention and give off so much heat.  As far as my Shep is concerned any terminals that distract Kaidan, orange or otherwise, are going straight out the airlock in ME3.

Morning everyone, just popping in for 5 minutes before I have to head out & go to court for yet another episode in the continuing divorce/property saga that rules my life.  Will have need of lots of Kaidany goodness when I return.

Confession time...can I admit I haven't read anything really in years...I remember reading Dragonriders of Pern and the Foundation Trilogy and numerous other books when I was younger but I couldn't tell you a thing about them now. I was a big Stephen King fan...his earlier stuff I can remember...I think I stopped reading his stuff for the most part after Delorias Claiborne (I think that was it)...yes I like weird, twisted, and dark stuff. Also like V.C. Andrews...Flowers in the Attic...etc. All I read nowadays is fanfic...shenko fanfic...or Kaidan centric.
