Evening all

If I could have had Kaidan at the Collector base he would have been with my Shep, although I think he could have easily led the fire team. I think he'd want the base destroyed rather than let Cerberus have it. I would have kept the base if I could have given it to the Alliance but I wasn't giving it to Cerberus. I think he would have made his views known to Shep regardless of what she decided. He seems to have hardened up in the 2 years that have gone by so I'm not sure whether he would have said his piece and accepted Shepard's judgement as he did in ME1.

I agree with you there.  ME1 Kaidan would have voiced, but not pushed it.
ME2 Kaidan would argue with her if she decided to keep it.

Kaidan leading the fireteams:  I agree he's at least as good a leader as the choices you have.  I dunno... I'd probably switch him and Garrus off and bring both to the final fight as long as that doesn't leave my line holders significantly weakened.  Considering Miranda's the same class, I'd have to assume Kaidan would be just as heavy a hitter as she, if not more.   Otherwise, it's back to Jack and Tali coming along for Avery, and Thane and Jack for Meghan.

I agree that Kaidan would argue against keeping the base. Even renegaded Kaidan would, I think, throw a fit at playing right into the Reaper's hands (tentacles?) since it's been previously stated that they want us to use their technology. ME1 Kaidan would state his opinion and leave it at that, but I think ME2 Kaidan would seriously consider hitting Shepard over the head and setting the charges himself if she thought about salvaging the thing.

Also, there are comments in the first game that he's been in command before (commendations, never losing anyone to hostile action, etc.) so he'd probably be a spectacular team leader on the Collector Base. Ella's Kaidan would refuse the position in order to watch her six, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be good at it in other versions of ME reality. ^_~

If Kaidan would've been with you at the attack on the Collector Base, would you have taken with you in your squad or put him in charge of a Fire Team or something else?

Also, if you take him with you to the boss fight, what do you think his reaction would be when TIM asks Shepard to keep the base? I mean he would very likely be against it, but how would he react to the question - and to Shepard when he/she considers it?

I'd have taken him with me. I wouldn't use him as team leader, mainly 'cause Miranda has so much more experiance leading than he does. If my shep were to agree and keep the base, I could see kaidan being pretty pissed about it - not enough to mutiny or anything, but shep definately wouldn't be getting any nookie that night.

I love the musical but I'm apprehensive about the movie version being made because so few contemporary musicals have been transferred to film and done the original production justice.

Re. Kaidan on the suicide mission...

If we're talking about Kaidan as you see him in, say, Sinvraal's fanfic, he'd be the best person for the job of Fire Team leader. By a mile. But I don't think that his depiction in the game emphasises that military aspect of him quite as much... (It may sound ridiculous, but I actually find myself thinking of Kaidan as written by Sinvraal as more Kaidan-ish than canon Kaidan. She just takes canon Kaidan and adds so many little details that mesh perfectly with the way Bioware wrote Kaidan but really expand and fill out his character.)

As for the Collector Base, I can't imagine him advocating keeping it. I mean, considering his total distrust of Cerberus, why would he ever want them to have that kind of power?

Also, I think Kaidan would rather destroy the base than give it to Cerberus. He might want to give it to the Alliance, maybe, but definitely not Cerb.

this is from eden prime - trying to get kai kai away from the beacon. it just looks...awful. but i kept it because it made me laugh. i uploaded a bunch of screenshots to the album yesterday and this was one.

@ the question re: where kaidan would be at the base - with shep. after virmire, kyrie is not letting  him out of her sight. the terrain is too unknown for her to blithely send him off down some other corridor. and she'd want him there should she run into any more vigil/sovereign thingys. wants him to hear/see it too.

i always hated taking miri with me on that final run to the reaper-baby, because at that point i didn't trust her, but when she stood by my paragon shep, i absolutely loved her. wanted to give her a big hug. miri becomes kyrie's bff after ashley. them icy b*tch ladies have to stick together.

according to chakwas, kaidan had an impressive service record and received over a dozen special commendations at the start of me1.  he himself stated he'd never lost a soldier under his command to hostile action prior to ashley's death.  i doubt he was promoted twice since the destruction of the normandy without leading a squad during those two missing years so i'd have no issue with him taking charge of a team.  although i'd prefer he was with my femshep for purely selfish reasons.  i love watching him flare when he's using his biotics. 

regarding the collector base decision, i think kaidan would advocate to destroy it.  i imagine he'd be disturbed by what happend to the humans in the pods and envision that whomever they gave it to would more than likely exploit its technology as opposed to utilize it.

my femshep agrees with kyrie.  she missed ashley's presence in her life and is grateful miranda's there for her.
