I took Kaidan's email as "when you're done with this mission, come find me!" So when I finished I set course for the Citadel looking for him, asked Anderson, went to see if I could land on Horizon again, etc. So bummed he wasn't waiting for me.

Same.

Optimism: I guess they're saving it up for a dramatic/touching reunion in ME3.

I'm sure we'll have a dramatic scene where we run back into them.

Or at least I hope so... Posted Image

I'm another one that ran around the galaxy like a maniac looking for Kaidan after I finished with the Omega 4 relay. It cheesed me off that anderson still had the same tired conversation that I'd already heard, lol. My kids were in hysterics cause I was sitting here yelling at him to tell me where Kaidan was, lmao

I was thinking about the "middle story" argument, and it doesn't really hold up for me.  I kinda feel that it would have been more impressive had we gone and done whatever with the original Normandy and original crew/team, then lost it all at the end of the game... rather than lost everything in the beginning and reboot.

But then we wouldn't have had the compelling new characters because the old ones weren't good enough, or something.

I don't know.  I still don't know what my problem is with ME2, so I shouldn't be complaining.

This.

I was seriously annoyed that after finishing the O-4 relay, blowing the collector base and telling TIM to F**k off that Anderson had the exact same dialogue wheel.

Despite half-expecting it, I totally yelled at my screen at the end of the post-Omega-4 cutscene, as it didn't have Kaidan in it, and I just knew that meant there was NO WAY to follow up on that 'maybe' in his email. Why put it in, and give a 'post-suicide-mission-gameplay' option, if you can't actually do the stuff you'd do after the suicide mission?

LoL... sounds familiar. I came up with new 'nicknames' for Anderson and horrible things I could do to him.
He was my first stop once we got control of the Normandy, he was my first stop after Horizon, my first stop after Horizon, my first stop after sending all the info on Cerberus to the Alliance, my last stop before Legion and O4-Relay and my first stop after destryoying the Collector's base and there were only an incredibly small difference in dialog options... I was so pissed, lol.

In ME 3 they better tell me right away where he is or I'll knock out Anderson and have someone hack his workstation...

I didn't say it was a good argument but... I understand it. :o
I think a good thing is actualy feeling a "nostalgic depression" like I did playing through the whole game, it means they're doing something right to make someone feel that way.
Nonetheless all that foreshadowing gives you big ideas and outcomes in the last game. I sense bloodbath or happy, ride off into the sunset over a rainbow kinda ending.

Kaidan wise... I love that dramatic "OH MY GOD!" he does if Wrex kills Fist.

Yeah I usually head to the Citadel first up in the game to ask about Kaidan, head there after Horizon to ask about Kaidan and check every single damn person I can find, and in the darkstar lounge (in case he's having drinks with the docotr, lol) to see if any of them are Kaidan.  Anderson tells me that I can come and talk anytime and his doors always open but he doesn't have anything new to say, lol

I hear ya - I actually think that was one of the things that annoyed me the most. I always considered Anderson as a character my Shepard could trust and then he doesn't tell her sh... poo, despite the things she did to proof herself. Too many holes... too many slips in what the characters said and what you could actually do... meh!

XD

Does he do the same if Shepard kills Fist?  ... I never checked.

I am fond of the "That may have been a little... extreme, commander," after punching Manuel.  (The fun of getting to know and accustomed to the people you're working with.)

I understand that they can't have infinite dialogue and choices and that the game has to end somewhere, but why the hell have Anderson say he's there if she wants to talk and then not give him anything new to say?  Its a major source of ingame frustration for me, lol

I know they can't pour out endless lines of dialogue... no matter how much I would like that. Since I worked as a tester, I know how limited texts/dialogue can be or sometimes have to be but I just dislike their way of getting up our hope and then crushing it - so yes, I know exactly what you mean. And especially with characters that I consider important for my Shepard (Anderson simply belonging to that circle of people).
Seeing Fist (in case you didn't kill him) was fun and it really got me to laugh but it wasn't a necessary thing - I would have preferred those few lines of text as an extra for Kaidan or Anderson...

The lovely problem with priorities I suppose... <_<

this.

You know, the plot hole that bothered me THE MOST - and i mean more than horizon, email, everything - was that you canNOT get details out of anyone about how they brought you back.  i mean, IF you really were dead, this is a frickin' miracle, and it's just like...oh, oops, lost wilson who did it and blow the station with all the notes and files.

does no one else find this REALLY strange?

cause either a) you weren't really dead, just comatose for 2 years while being modified to be their super soldier or B) ME redemption and trailer w/ legion searching alchera wearing n7 armor implies you really did die - and how - so you were brought back from scratch or c) you're a clone or...something. or d) your n7 suit had massive life-support stuff IN SPITE of your helmet coming off becuase meteors get blown apart going through atmo, much less people. i could see cryo frozen ON alchea, butyou'd be fried to hell and gone falling down.

anyhow - that's my big question.

i mean, i *Can* suspend disbelief- i have until now. but i feel like i want more of an answer of what happened when OR a really great reveal come ME3. for now, i'm just not sure if you really were dead.

You know, with Cerberus and the "super soldier" thing, I'm curious about that. Admiral Kahoku did say that they were trying to build one in ME1.

@Sage: Yes!

I have so many issues w/the whole "Shepard was really dead but we brought him/her back! Believe us cause we say so!" I mean... it just doesn't remotely work for me. I suspend disbelief as well, because I have to, but... issues.

@Sage - yeah it bugged me that Shep (apart from anyone else who just seemed to accept it as an everyday occurence) never really asked any questions about how they did it and what they did. You would think she would want to know at some point. My first thought was that she was a clone but I really hoped they didn't go that route - too cliched. Cerberus may have blown the base but I don't believe for a minute that they would have blown or lost all the notes and files. I still think the lazarus project was meant for something or someone else (TIM perhaps) and that Shepard was the guinea pig, lol
and just to continue with my conspiracy theories - Cerberus could grow their own Shepard cause they now have all her dna & stuff, and reek havoc in the galaxy with Shep getting the blame, especially if she told TIM where to go.  He would have some kind of contingency plan in place in case that happened.

I agree, Ki. The biggest problem ME2 suffered from was taking quantity over quality. I would rather they have tried to do less character-wise and put more depth into each of them, including the appearances of characters such as Kaidan and Anderson.

And for my usual dose of OT: not sure if I posted this last night before going to bed or not, but here. Some of you may have already found it (*Cough cough* Night *Cough cough*)

@Sage

I would have preferred the "coma for 2 years" logic instead of resurrection. BW could have built the same exact story around it and it would have been far more believable.
