thanks people, I just found the page on the wiki as Sia put up the link.  thanks Sia.  I keep forgetting about the wiki, lol.
everytime a new dlc is announced everyone gets their hopes up for Kaidan to play some part in it, then everyone gets depressed.  I am seriously getting more pessimistic every day about even getting Kaidan on the team iin ME3.  I hope BW prove me wrong.
and a waiting Kaidan cause it suits my mood

I'm ready to quit Bioware altogether if they continue doing the stuff they've been doing lately. In fact, ME3 (if it has a satisfying conclusion) will be my last BW game.

I play at a massive Cerberus/Alliance conspiracy, but it's not like the main conspiracies on the Campaign and Storyline forums where Cerberus is still a part of the Alliance. More like a country funding a dubious organization that then fights their enemies.
Anderson's reaction makes me think that whatever Armistan Banes was doing, it was high level classified such that he knew the sensitive nature of it, even if he claims he doesn't know the details. Makes me wonder if Kaidan is in an Armistan Banes situation himself, doing missions for Anderson so classified that if he were show up mysteriously dead, anyone who looked into it further would also be in serious trouble.

this. the alliance did do the corsair thing. but illusive has been in charge for how long? i don't get how he's with the alliance then goes rogue....must be in the january-time comic.

Also for some reason my sisters who loved DA cant play ME1, they are playing it at home and flat out hate it, and then promptly went back to play DA. I wonder why, also yes they already squeed at Kaidan.

gameplay, likely. i had to really work to get past me1 gameplay in order to get into the game. i didn't used to like shooters and at first i thought i hated space-era stories and only liked medieval style fantasy worlds. ME changed my mind on both counts. 

i'm really stoked about liara DLC (nice to see you jlb, btw). i just really want some good kaidan time in ME3. just...yeah. but yay liara. she saved you, you know.:innocent:

So were we "supposed to" (intent being difficult to pin down, but like the "compelling ME2 LI" thing) fall for Liara over Kaidan, and thus why Kaidan is modeled over Ashley?  Or did they simply try to blend the most blendable aspects of Kaidan and Ashley together?  Or...?

I'm so confused.  



Thinking about it, Kaidan doesn't seem like he's changed all that much in two years to me.  He loses his temper a bit, but it's extraordinary circumstances and it's not like he never lost his temper in ME1, either.  The only thing that implies that he's changed at all is his own words in his letter.

... I'd almost be inclined to think he was more "stuck in a rut" than "changed."  I guess we have to see him longer than we get to see judge.

Evening Kaidan thread.

I am cautiously optimistic that Shadow Broker DLC will be entertaining. I haven't even bought Kasumi yet though, so I'm obviously in no particular hurry.

@FireEye: Kaidan seems a bit older, tireder, and more forceful than in 1. But yes, we could totally be reading all sorts of things into a short scene under extraordinary circumstances. (Emotionally, even he seems to think he was stuck in a rut, since he hadn't gotten over Shepard after two years. *shrugs*)

And getting a review reply from Sinvraal totally made my night ... I feel much smarter and more coherent than usual. *laughs*

No FireEye, I agree with you. But the fact that he got a bit moody shows me that maybe (like most of the fanfics say) he blames himself, which would be a totally Kaidan thing to do.

I thought he both looked(he looks like he aged a good 8 years..) and sounded tired. Just tired. I think he's a bit more "hardened", if not because he doesn't want to get hurt again.

I disagree.  We don't see much of Kaidan in ME2, but he seems older.  LIke was stated above more "hardened."
Emotionally, he was stuck mourning Shepard for 2 years.  But in his duty he moved on.
He had to have done some impressive stuff to have risen to Staff Commander from Lieutenant in 2 years.
The big thing is that he is able to stand up to and hold his ground against Shepard.  He's also able to walk away.  Now, I'm not saying that he was right in those things.  Just that I don't know if he would have been able to 2 years prior--even if he wasn't her subordinate.  I see him as a little more independent.  A little more confident in himself/his abilities than in ME1.

With that thought, its off to bed to read some of Night's stuff.

Ponce can mean an effeminte male, a jerk ass person, or a mix of the two.
Horizon falls into the second catagory for Kaidan.

I think Anderson had some pull with him going up two ranks in two years. He might of been Shep's rank when the game started and recently obtained his new rank when ME2 begins after you wake up. Who knows.
