Definitely sensing a pattern here! Anomen, who is probably BW's whiniest male LI (even though I rather like his character/romance a lot, hence the username) didn't have a dead wife... instead, he got a dead mother AND a dead sister to angst over, poor guy. Not to mention a horrible relationship with his father (more BW daddy issues). I never played the NWN Undrentide expansion, even though I've got it lying around the house...Does Valen have a tragic death-of-loved-one back story? 

My god, Kaidan is so refreshingly angst free! What are these silly haters going on about, "he's so whiny"? For the record, I never thought Carth was particularly whiny either - even if he had been, getting to bicker with him, calling him names and having him react positively to that would still have made the romance in KOTOR totally epic!

Slow night. So....who wants to come up with reasons Kaidan was in pink armor at the beginning of ME2. It's become kind of an obsession of mine. I guess I just don't want to find out that the answer is someone was lazy and why program something else if Liara and Ash were already in pink. Personally, I like the answer that real men aren't afraid to wear pink.

Kaidan stands in the Normandy's hull, staring at the weapon station. It's been two weeks since they defeated Sovereign at the Citadel.  Shepard's words come back to him as he gazes upon the makeshift memorial that the Commander set up for Ash:

I'll remember her, and I'll do better for her.

Kaidan smiles sadly and pulls on a suit of Phoenix armor in memory of Ash.

Wait a sec....that armor must stretch a lot!

lol love Battlestar to bits, I think it's one of TV's finest series ever made, but that's so true! And let's not forget: it's a space operetta with an actual opera in space, complete with theater and pretty music. Beat me over the head Battlestar.

I actually played KOTOR 2 first & was a bit disappointed with how choppy the story was until I found out it was actually unfinished (& not by bioware). My kids got me to play KOTOR 1 & I loved Carth straight away - first game I played where I romanced someone (would have loved to romance Atton but sadly unfinished game meant that wasn't happening). I didn't find Carth whiny at all & loved the humour in some of the dialogue. My sons do think Carth was whiny (so its a teenage boy thing), & I'm sure the only reason they didn't like Kaidan was because of the same voice. Kaidan is one of the least whiny characters I've seen in any of the games I've played. Never really got into Skye (jade Empire), I didn't dislike him but he just didn't click for me - maybe it was the lame outfit they had him wearing, lol



I disliked Bastilla with a passion & was extremely surprised when I found out that Hale voiced her, seeing as how I love how she portrayed femShep (apart from the Jacob sleezy thing).



I"m a Star Wars fan so I'm biased but for anyone who hasn't played KOTOR1 I'd recommend giving it a whirl.

You're not the only one.  In fact I probably wouldn't buy the game till I hear some spoilers concerning this.  I refuse to buy ME3 unless my Shep & Kaidan get their happy ending.

so just out of curiosity all my nerdy friends who, from this thread I've gathered enjoy BSG, Firefly, Supernatural (which I haven't seen past the first season for shame) and other nerdy shows just as much as I do....

You're not the only one.  In fact I probably wouldn't buy the game till I hear some spoilers concerning this.  I refuse to buy ME3 unless my Shep & Kaidan get their happy ending. 

Maybe your decisions throughout the game will affect the ending. e.g Dead Shep/Happy Shep
