As long as she is inspired by your suggestion, rather than actually illustrating the current chapter, that's ok.
And, um... happy Jhosephine artwork to change the subject!

I did that for the one chapter in my fic that was completely non fluff although thinking about it I prolly should have added that note a few other places.jillyfae wrote...

I have a list of questions I'd love to ask the development team, and their hindsight impression of the Jacob romance is definitely one of them. I know they asked the women at Bioware for advice on certain aspects of the Garrus and Thane romances. Did they ask the women about Jacob? I am disappoint, women of Bioware.TeenZombie wrote...

So I have a couple links for a couple polls that Mondo47 set up after a discussion on demographics and love interests for Mass Effect. She posted the links earlier in the day. I thought I'd catch a few posters from later in the day.
Female Love Interests
Male Love Interests
I know they never can be completely accurate, but these results still fascinate me. Not a single vote for Jacob from females over or under 25. Are you listening, Bioware? I would love to see a writer one day talk to the fans about what they thought of Jacob's romance, and whether they feel they made any mistakes or not. Maybe they feel like they achieved exactly what they were going for???
One thing I am rather pleased to see with the poll is that, no matter what the forums at large might think, Kaidan's romance is popular.

Kenneth? Oh. No. That would cause obvious problems with Gabby. The fraternization thing is bad enough--let alone there being hard feelings among a crewmate about stealing a LI.TeenZombie wrote...

Going off of this, I have a new question: if the Kenneth romance option wasn't cut, and it did not affect Kaidan's picture and didn't give the Paramour achievement, would anyone here have tried it? I have to admit that I'm curious. I definitely wouldn't do it on my main Shepard, but if it had been done well, I would have been tempted on other characters.

What strikes me the most about the Jacob romance is that it's definitely all about *not* having a deep emotional connection. The way Fem Shep acts makes it seem like a booty call, and then if you attempt to ask Jacob too many questions about himself, he pushes you away. Then, if you reject him, he'll tell you he loves you, but then calls you a tease. I can't speak for other women, but for me, it's not appealing.
As for Kaidan romance popularity, I tend to think that Kaidan fans came out of the woodwork after ME2 came out, both because there was so much hate on the forums directed towards him in the past, and we also took it for granted that he would have a decent role, even if he wasn't on the squad, before the second game came out. Horizon was totally shocking to me, and I have no idea whether they plan to bring Kaidan back in a more satisfying way for ME3, so my only outlet for my frustration is posting here, and letting the devs know I care.

My single Shep would've been all over that
re: polls/surveys
I never really put too much stock into the results on this site. Once you go outside the forums, tastes and trends seem to vary much more widely. For instance, none of my gamer friends IRL, and very few on other boards ever romanced Tali. I also see a lot less Kaidan hatorade.
And this:

But she does push his buttons. That's my first problem with the Jacob romance, and why it never got off the ground when I was playing. With the skanky voice, and the "Mr Taylor ..." dialogue, and pushing when he implies he doesn't want to get involved with a teammate/commander, Shepard is forced to act in a very specific (frequently ooc for a lot of people) manner when dealing with Jacob.
Part of why the other romances in all their games are usually so good is the fact that they're open-ended enough to be interpreted to fit your character. With Jacob, there's only one path, and it's an unpleasant, anti-alien, aggressive one.

Yeah, I could RP it for Meg for science, but only to a certain point. The minute his feelings about Garrus came out, she'd dump him. Nobody bad-mouths her pals.

It's like the amazon.com problem. Sure, 50% of the people viewing this item (Kaidan) went off and got something else (Tali?) and 25% went to something other than that (Garrus?). But hey, if the reviews for the item are stellar, then it's still got a high rating, ya know? And no insult meant to Kaidan by comparing him to merchandise. Really...none at all.
So Kaidan may not be the favorite, but he's got DEVOTED fans, you know what I'm saying? Again, perhaps I'm the pollyanna here, but if they put in a Garrus and Tali romance in response to fan requests, then hopefully the ongoing support of Kaidan from his small but vocal fan club will mean something.

While people consider him an a**... well maybe he is one but he seems to be honest for once and speaks his mind and opinion. Seems people are so shocked when the listen to him because nowadays everyone is used to get things wrapped in cotton wool.
He also seems to be very passionate about the things he does.
Anyway, if he was to ever appear as a VA I'd buy the game instantly, lol. Great, now I'm gonna watch an episode of KN. Stupid indoctrination...

Good Morning all
Wow a lot went on here last night.
@Kaidan as a vegetarian? No way. Wouldn't be able to keep up with the caloric demands, medically speaking.
Sorry for starting up the whole Horizon debate again right before going to bed. I think I have this love/hate thing with the scene. Currently I've been reading sage's FF and her Kaidan's being so....stubborn he's making me angry. And down.
I always hate these parts in stories--where the lovers are emotionally separated like this. Especially when the man is doing it for "the right reasons" in his own mind.
Edward leaves Bella--I still get mad over that one and don't like reading New Moon
Angel leaves Buffy--I never forgave him for it. I like her better with Spike.
Jondalar won't make a committment to Aayla (Clan of the Cave Bear series--Mammoth Hunters)
Even in Austen: Wentworth trying to go on with his life and rubbing Anne's nose in it (Persuasion--at least he's more coherent in his writing than Kaidan). And Edmund wanting Fanny, having molded her personality to be a perfect compliment to his, but looking elsewhere.
And we have sooooo long before we get a resolution to this and no guarantee that its going to be a happy one.
Oz left Willow. That made me
