This thread is moving so fast. It’s great 200 pages! and so hard to catch up :)
I was thinking about something and I’m curious what you think about it. After the Normandy was destroyed Liara desperately started to look for Shepard. The moment when she tried to explain her actions and said that she couldn’t let you go was heartbreaking for me. She surely had strong feelings about Shepard, but why did she do it all on her own? I imagine that after the accident she tried to persuade the rest of the crew to help her find some answers. She of all crew aboard Normandy knew for sure how Shepard and Kaidan felt about each other. I think she had to talk to Kaidan about her plans. Why didn’t he help her? Maybe he was so depressed about what happened and thought what Liara was about to do was pointless. I don’t know…
If she could be so passionate about finding Shepard, why wouldn’t Kadain be too? What do you think? I don’t know if it was already discussed, so if it was don’t mind me.

Joker did say they were all split up...maybe she didn't have the chance to talk to him before he was reassigned...might not have found out where they sent him either...she wasn't Alliance. By the time she had some concrete info on Shep she might have been so involved she no longer thought about contacting him. I figure guilt kept her from saying anything after she gave Ceberus the body.

Or maybe she wanted to protect him from any potential fallout.  I mean her partner did get captured and is either being interrogated or has been killed.  Also, if the Alliance found out Kaidan was doing some side work involving the SB it could be detrimental to his career.

Indeed

I agree, strong women are need in this day of age. Preferable ones that don't have to were bikini armor to please the guys. I tend to agree, that copying the moments of male shpeard is just being lazy.

That said, huge boobs and a hooker's walk aren't what I had it mind

Indeed.

Strong woman sure. Bikini armor, no thanks. Maleshep animations copy and pasted over a femshep, no thanks. Being strong doesn't have to mean behaving like a guy, which femshep does at a few points due to the default male animations.

One the things that killed me with the new Tomb Raider was the additional costumes. Yay more outfits...boo on the bikini's...especially when Lara is swimming in antartic tempsImage IPB

Thats what I meant; being a strong woman =/= being a man - if anything, that goes against the proper spirit of feminism, from what I understand (not the corrupted blame men for everything group).

I mean, if femshep has to give up everything womanly to be a strong, whats the difference between a strong woman and a man.

Not that its an issue for me as I nearly always play male shep (playing femshep makes me feel like the creepy guys on the net who pretend to be ladies in the chat rooms, heh)

I don't think any of us posting in this thread are interested in playing Barbarella as our main character.

[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]Yeah, I think that would be a different kind of game. But since I didn't play as a Maleshep I can't really compare the two...for me Femshep was fine...I didn't see anything odd about her...except when talking to Jacob which I avoided after that first greeting.

Heh, indeedie. Well, I've not played much of femshep, but her movements seem exactly the same as malesheps.... I dunno, maybe its just because I'm drifting towards sleep now and I'm getting disllusional that I think other thread has a valid point in its first line.

I always have to groan (not in a good way) at the bikini armour in games - I mean, its not like their midsections are magically bullet proof so that they don't need armour suddenly.

And it makes me embarassed to play the game as I keep thinking "Which is more embarassing - being caught playing this or caught watching porn?"

I personally don't view femShep as being manly, rather just being a soldier.  Such things are often percieved by society as being "manly" but it really isn't.

Fair enough - as I say, its pretty late here for me, and I'm not wholly certain there is even that much merit in the other thread's original post, heh.

Is it just me or is it Japanese games that take it to the extreme? <_< Sure, there's Lara, but she's only one.

No, it's not just you. Look at that Zombie game, Bikini Onechan or something rather...

Another example: I liked Fatal Frame, but it still had the overly innocent schoolgirl waiting to be corrupted theme that Japanese games tend to favor.

Give me something like 'Mirror's Edge' or 'Wet'.

I think Mirror's Edge goes under my 5 least favourite games of all time, but not due to skanky female characters. Never played Wet.

But looking at the games on my shelf right now... Soulcalibur and Tekken stand out. The women in those games mostly have high heels and some tight latex that bearly cover anything.

You know I loved Lost Odyssey. That game made me cry twice as if my grandma died. Ming never bothered me much until the end cutscene. That wedding outfit was horrendous. T_T
