I chose Kaidan for the male love interest poll.

In ME1, I'd say Kaidan and Garrus would get along fine. Kaidan doesn't want to step on toes while Garrus is more decisive. Kaidan likes to keep a door open while Garrus will zero in on something. Kaidan's an easy going guy, which is why I feel they'd get along just fine. I really cannot say for post-ME2 since Kaidan put his own foot down and squared off against Shepard + Garrus (and Tali*) in Horizon. I'm pretty interested in seeing how dynamics change in ME3, especially if Kaidan's role has changed in terms of Alliance authority rather as opposed to being a mere crewman. Garrus is his own agent -- he only answers to Shepard so the rules are different for him.



*There was a youtube video where someone found that Tali had a bunch of unique dialogue for Horizon, but it got cut out. She reacted to Kaidan the same way Garrus did regarding the topic of Cerebus.

Actually, I've seen quite a few men on these forums who have played a female Shepard, simply because Hale does such an excellent job with the voice acting.

With Youtube videos out there, I can imagine some guys voted based on what they saw from the videos that they enjoyed most. And then there's voting simply for the character they like most. Afterall, the characters weren't included in the Non-Romanceable Poll.

I voted for Jack even though I've yet to do a full ME2 playthrough with a male Shepard. But what I know of her from the non-romanceable point of view and discussing the romance in the Jack thread, I figured I simply liked her more than Ashley and Liara. And she will eventually be romanced, once my RROD issues are sorted.

If you take Tali and Garrus on Horizon then Kaidan reacts to both of them there.  "You are with Ceberus now?  Garrus and Tali too?"

Okay, here's a question: how possessive of Shepard is Kaidan and of Kaidan is Shepard? take that as before ilos, after ilos before horizon, after horizon - however you will.

my femshep deludes herself into thinking she's not jealous.  any time anyone checks kaidan out or flirts with him, she rages internally.  serving as a reminder that she is indeed covetous despite her best efforts to suppress those emotions. 

i do not think was kaidan possessive before shepards's passing.  after that tramatic event, he may have changed thus causing him to have panic attacks whenever she is not by his side.

It's apparent that all the squadmates were supposed to be recruitable before Horizon. There's even a comment from Garrus if you decide to leave Legion with him during the Archangel recruitment. But since the game had to be split into two discs for the XBox, they split up the dossiers.

I hope they get more creative about the multiple disc route in ME3. Also, since I can install the damn game on my XBox HD, I don't see why they require me to switch discs at all. Jerks.

I had wondered which of those two would get the dominant lines in responding to Kaidan ("damn it, Kaidan, ...") if they both showed up together.

I don't really see Kaidan as a possessive type. I also hope that he isn't one. I like how he acted in the Liara/Kaidan confrontation.

hmm...well as i asked the question, i wrote the possessive streak into both shep and kaidan in my fic, but it shows itself at really weird times. i think if either of them thought the other one had moved on or wanted out of the relationship, they'd be like "okay, go, i guess" but both of them would fight not to loose the other. the mere fact that kaidan even enters into the confrontation scene indicates to me that he at least is willing to put himself on the line to find out if shepard is "his" or not. and he's not willing to share with liara.

as for harkin/consort - too early in the game for him to say anything imo. but i sure as heck would *love* some comments in the future re: me3 stuff if kaidan is back as a squaddie. (Carth in tatooine comes to mind)

i have noticed this trend that thane peeps are often artists... am i wrong in that? it's like, deviant art is filled with thane - mebbe because he's so pretty?

one sadness to me is that occasionally human faces look wonky in ME. you *know* what a human face is supposed to look like, so when it looks wrong (sheploo smile, anyone?) it looks REALLY wrong. a turian or drell or whatever can't look quite so weird because you don't know what it's *supposed* to look like.

i find garrus and thane never look bad because they always looks like...them. but kaidan occasionally looks odd because certain camera angles make his hair appear all lumpy or his face off. the post-virmire moment when he's looking at shep his nose looks odd. his eyes cross on horizon for a moment. it's little things like that which sort of upset the "dang, he's hot" animation of the character. the aliens just sort of always look cool because they never appear not real.

my opinion anyhow.

i hear that. i think garrus comes up a lot because it's hard NOT to notice how he's with you in me2 and kaidan isn't. it's like the game rubs your face in it.

Avery's eyes are consistently crossed in ME2.  I have no idea why. (Meghan, who actually has the same eye design does not cross.)
