i hear that. i think garrus comes up a lot because it's hard NOT to notice how he's with you in me2 and kaidan isn't. it's like the game rubs your face in it.

And I think everyone's noticed the eye crossing on Horizon. It shows that the devs didn't care about the cameos enough to get their basic eye movements right. <_<

I think that they were friendly, just not necessarily friends.  On Horizon, he calls Kaidan by his first name, but IIRC, refers to Ashley as "Williams".  So it does seem that he was probably on better terms with Kaidan.

If Shepard romanced both, I think Kaidan would probably blame himself for not being there while Garrus was.  Depending how chummy the two were, he might also be upset about Garrus breaking the "bros before hos" rule.

I definitely see him having issues with the Cerberus crew.  Jacob in particular, and Miranda to a lesser extent, if she tendered her resignation to TIM.  While she'd be ex-Cerberus, I suppose it would depend on how many of their ideals she she holds.

He probably wouldn't get along with Zaeed either and I think he'd have a rather  reaction to Legion.

In my mental universe, Kaidan and Miranda would be like oil and water. She's all about end's justifying the means, while Kaidan exemplifies the 'do it the right way' philosophy. And that doesn't even have anything to do with all the Cerberus issues.

They might be able to work it out, eventually, as they both focus on the mission, and team-work, but it would be awkward, I think.

During the Superbowl uStream thing that the devs had, he made that comment. It's things like that (and all the other crap we've gotten from ME2) that makes me think that we'll get the short end of the stick again come ME3. After all, they'll always cater to the fan favorites and Kaidan isn't one of them.

@shavon - i have no idea save garrus is popular with kaidan fans but kaidan fans are not popular with the garrus ones so they have to post here instead of in the appropriate character thread.  that's my best guess.

Well, Chris can go eat a snack.  he doesn't like Liara either, but she is very popular.  According to many polls, female players like Kaidan the most, and that is who he is designed for.  So.  There!

So, something else I've been wondering... Considering the man's a biotic (and I think the majority of us play some sort of biotic), where would your Shep take Kaidan for dinner? All-you-can-eat Chinese Buffet? The 2185 equivalent of Olive Garden or Outback?

That wasn't the point. The point was that Garrus comes up every single day and most of the time it doesn't even relate to Kaidan. Like I said on the previous page, there are some people that don't like Garrus and don't want to talk about him every day. I would be one of those people.



I'll admit that lately I haven't been posting a lot in this thread because it's been that off topic that I just don't bother to post. Even if I do post, I get completely ignored, as do others that I've noticed. But I don't want to create another thread rift so I'll just pop in occasionally if the mood strikes me.



(This post is in reply to Sia but I'm not blaming her for anything; I'm just stating/clarifying something that I've noticed and Shavon seems to have noticed as well)

Ok now I have the best imagine in my head of Shep and Kaidan eating everything in sight with the rest of the sqaud looking on in pure horror.....cept maybe Wrex


I my my shep as biotic always- either a sentinel or a vanguard mostly. Oddly enough, this current run I'm an adept....and I keep thinking I'm a sentinel....


So how much food would kaidan and a biotic shepard have to eat anyways??

my comment was in reference to the everyday talk not the question that was asked earlier.

i play a vanguard so maybe shoney's.  i love their fruit and salad bar.  or logan's roadhouse because they have that deal where two can dine for 12.99.  although kaidan and shep would have to order more than once to get full.

Biotics need about 4000 calories a day. So... for two that are in near-constant battle like Kaidan and Shep.... maybe 5000 a day? (I shudder to think what Wrex put away.)



My respect for Gardner has quadrupled since he's got even more biotics to feed. If only he'd wash his hands more.

doesn't everybody have a  reaction to legion? the AI names him after a pack of demons, for goodness sake!

re: kaidan being the unpopular one: that's just...silly. someone else said it and i'll say it again: even if there was only 1 person who romanced him, they should bring it to a satisfying conclusion for that fan's sake. it's not a matter of fan like/dislike - sheesh, it's a matter of good writing. i'd be disappointed if it didn't conclude for that reason alone.

and - not to rain optimism on the pessimism, but remember that Ash is the flipside of kaidan. while sometimes that annoys the heck out of me, it IS a further reason for them to conclude things with the VS in some satisfactory way. while i don't hold out hope for a perfect, kaidan-specific reunion that's totally different than ash, i DO hold out hope that they have something fairly conclusive planned. leaving out kaidan is leaving out ash - that's two characters lost, there.

also, i take his two-rank promotion as an indication that they're listening to fans a little. dunno - strikes me that it's equalizing the gap between them. ash is still the subordinate to maleshep - that was sort of her thing (sexist? i think perhaps so, but whatever), but i take it that kaidan was deliberately promoted to put him on more equal footing should the relationship continue. shep's being a spectre means she won't be HIS subordinate, but...i dunno - i take this as they're going to be more equal-like and i saw that as a fan concession.
