I see this the same way. She's just doing her job. Thats not being "manly".

The way I see it there are 2 sides to Shep, you have Shep the solider whose the ultimate solider, she’s supposed to be better and tougher than everyone else and on the other side you have Shep the woman whose softer side isn’t seen by many but it’s there. Just ask a certain dark haired L2 and after he’s done blushing for 5 minutes he’ll admit that Shep can very feminine in private when she wants to be.

I never played the game, but my reaction to the pic posted was "is that outfit denim???"  Even strippers would find that tacky.  I don't mind cleavage in moderation, but really.

I'm so happy that femShep wasn't "sexed up," even in her casual outfits.  I would have liked more choices, just because everything but the colonist outfit has Cerberus logos, and then that one has a horrible texture (my poor Shepard's neck apparently is really dirty ), but considering what we could have been given, I was pleased.

Yeah, at least we had the choice. In JRPGs if there's an option it's between skanky outfit 1 & 2. Like say... Ivy from Soulcalibur. Gah, the images are still burned into my brain.

The ears! Ahahahaha! I'm afraid I'm too amused by the ears to comment more specifically on the skankiness of the outfit. It is really great that BW doesn't pander to people who want all the females in chainmail bikinis, etc. I was happy with the armour in DA for that reason too. ME just needs casual outfits without the Cerberus logo (don't care for the rubbery looking dresses some of the NPCs wear either).

I just had a flashback to my EQ days, which was my first MMO in which my hubby suggested I play a wood elf druid, people used to line up to watch me do my corpse runs.
 
I think Shep would have removed all the Cerberus logos on her clothing. 

I wouldn’t mind a nice pair of jeans and a t-shirt for hanging around on the Normandy over the standard issue Cerberus garb.

I think the worst BioWare have ever gotten in regards to impractical armour is Aribeth's boob-top armour in NWN which in the end wasn't that bad (don't know about BG, never played), Jade Empire had a couple of semi-skimpy characters but it was a world entirely based around martial arts which isn't known for heavy armour use anyway and they still looked practical.



As for the outfits in ME2, I agree there could be more. Especially as a few .ini tweaks give you dozens of different outfits. Yay for being a PC user, I'm quite happy with my Alliance jacket.

I think there are whips in FF8. The best part is that it looks like it's pretending to be plate armour.

Same here actually, it's probably been a year soon since I last read a proper book. Besides, you can get stuff done while listening to the audiobook, only your hearing is busy... hands and eyes are still free! I listen to a lot of  audiobooks and also erhm radio theatre? It's great at any rate.

You should try the 'Escape pod' podcast - a short sci-fi story every week for free; and they have a horror and fantasty podcast too.

I'll second the Escape pod suggestion. I listen to these at work when I'm doing my autopilot mind numbing duties.

Agreed. I'd love some basic jeans. Bet Kaidan'd look hot in them...
