I love that picture - he has such a boyish expression... and a little bit impish too.

Oo I'd like a Kaidan interrupt. Some really tense moment in the game, click Kaidan interrupt and he grabs us and kisses us. All better.

Or you grab and kiss him.  ... Or he chooses when to interrupt, at random.

I fully support a renegade interrupt in ME3 where Shepard gets to steal his pants.

Wow... took me forever to catch up. And work interfered.... a lot.

Have a Trio:

Because, well.. Carth and Alistair were both mentioned at some point, I'm sure.

There are no character analogues to Star Wars. Otherwise, Garrus is Chewie and Meg takes issue with that. She says so in Loved. ;) And Luke would have to equal Shepard and Kaidan would either be Han or Leia... and it just gets weird after that. Then what, Wrex = Lando?

No SW character comparisons please. Just plot stealing, like every other self-respecting author out there.

Yes!  Like in DA where you can kiss Alistair anytime you want.  That would be awesomein ME3--HEAR ME BioWare!  Posted Image

LoL - very true. I personally wouldn't mind any comments or banter for the other teammate either... it always amused me.

As long as it was limited to the Normandy, I'd love this.  Similar to DA when you can invite your LI to your tent in camp.

But being all kissy face out on missions would be unprofessional and probably OOC.

Yeah.  I love the one in Chora's Den when Ashley tells Kaidan to put his tongue back in his mouth before he trips on it.  Posted Image

I appear from a long time of lurking to say I definitely agree with that! I always thought that Dragon Age could take a leaf out of Mass Effect's book with the romances, and vice versa. Not they aren't already spectacular, of course. Although I don't really like how you can romance Alistair in pretty much the first two hours of the game. Heh.

Banter is always fun. I would love more banter-related fun in ME3...ahh. Kaidan Interrupts ftw.

Aye, the banter was certainly something I missed in ME 2 - even though without Kaidan, it would have been only half the fun anyway. Would be lovely to see something like it in ME 3 again.

Though I had to laugh at the one occasion when Garrus asked Tali if she'd miss the talks they had in the elevators, lol. That one was actually quite great.

But yes, being all over him during a mission might be unprofessional - but lets face it - the fate of the universe is on her shoulders and thus she is constantly on a mission... which would mean no loving...

Hahaha, I can just imagine that on the mission. I can just imagine Kaidan being all;

"Oh, you want to- but what about our MISSION?" Alistair style.

There is a lot with the ME2 LI and Kaidan that are meant to be plot devices.  The boy scout sticks to his beliefs, and feels betrayed by Shep, so leaves.  But he also had a much higher emotional investment in Shepard than any of the other characters in ME1 (perhaps other than Liara--but unrequited).  So he's going to be more prone to over reacting.  That sets up a separation where disaster can happen and cause angst down the road.

yes. i think this is horizon angry-making right there: why did BW have to make plot out of MY love story?!?!

i hate it and love it at the same d*mn time.

'Cause love stories that run smoothly aren't as interesting.  You know that from writing.  There has to be tension.  It draws you to the characters and to their story more.  You cheer for them to get together against the odds.

the problem comes in that this is the middle chapter.  And unlike in the movies where you might get the next one in a year, we have several years to wait to see how this is going to end.  If we could go from ME2 and just pop in ME3 right away, it may not seem as bad.  But we have this added frustration of our Shepards not being able to set things straight with Kaidan for years.
Although, from another POV, Kaidan had to wait over 2 years to find out that Shep was alive.  I guess its only fair that our sheps have to wait for him.  Posted Image

and yeah.  I have a love/hate relationship with Horizon also.

@DA romance:  I liked being able to talk to Alistair so often.  Actually, I would have liked more conversations with Kaidan than there were--they wouldn't have to be romance ones--just to learn more about him would have been good.
But the DA romance worked for that story.  Alistair is a lot younger than Kaidan.  And he's not reserved like Kaidan is.  He's also never had a loving relationship--with anyone really in any capacity romantic or otherwise.  I think he jumps into it due to his youth and inexperience as well as being one of only 2 Wardens left.
Kaidan has been bitten in the butt by love in the past.  Plus the rules that must be obeyed.  But still I would have liked more platonic dialogue even.

Haha, I love the KOTOR comparison. I can imagine Samara being all "my life for yours" creepy. Oh, nostalgia, there you are. The Miranda/Bastila part is kinda ironic....what with the whole Jennifer Hale thing.

Also confuzzles me how Shep could sling Kaidan over her shoulder on Virmire, or throw him around on Eden Prime. I mean, she is a rough-tough soldier boss-lady an' all. Makes you think...

Yeah, I always have to peg it to adrenalin, and...lots more adrenalin. And wishful thinking. :innocent:

Haha, biotic Shep should have just pulled Kaidan and threw him on the Normandy. It would have been fun to control flying Kaidan, and maneuver him and around corners and turtles.

"Wheee!"

Alliance soldiers get those genetic retrovirus upgrade package things. It might have something to do with that?

I have no problem believing that Kate could very easily deadlift Kaidan even before all the Cerberus upgrades.
