ME2 was worth it just to slug that pyjack and blow them up on Tuchanka.

That is Bioware listening to fans right there!

Though I doubt Kaidan would like Shepard doing that.

I thought it was fun for Kimbri, who is a "sole survivor" to take down the Thresher Maw on foot.  Posted Image

EDIT:  Man!  I've ended up the top of the page a lot today

So are you gonna tell me looking at this cap that Lillith has no interest in Kaidan?  Come on!  Posted Image

That's not a cap of Kaidan and Lilith. That's a photoshop of someone's Shep with Kaidan.

And I just started another ME 1 playthrough... and as always, I feel sad about Nihilus dying. For some reason I really like him.
Now, if he had survived and had become somthing like a mentor to Shepard and had thus spent a lot of time with her... well, I don't know but somehow I could see Kaidan being a bit jealous. It's one of those pointless mindtwists that appear in my head... can't help it and I'll just turn the randomness off.

Do you think the romance would have happened at all in that case?  Or would it have been easier since the chain of command may have been different?

It's been awhile, but I'm almost positive that's one of shotgun's pics. Probably just reversed the image in PS.

Definitely not Lilith/Kaidan tho.

And to pet that varren. Jennifer's Hale voice acting never ceases to impress me...even that part did her magnificent justice. She has one awesome voice.

I like Hale:

During Samara's loyalty mission

Being Snarky

and getting emotional

Meer:

Tali's Romance

Playing as a Paragon

Good question - my train of thoughts didn't even go that far. I still think the romance would have happened - you can't stop the inevitable ^_^

I think it would have been both though. Difficult because I imagine Nihilus to be a very strict teacher and mentor. Then again there is the thing about Turians and stress relief before missions... and also (knowingly contradicting myself) I still think that Nihilus would give them a chance and some time - as long as Shepard would keep up with his demands.
LoL... don't stress my brain so... it's all overloaded now...

Hmm, can't really speak for Meer's voice acting. He's improved since ME1, I'll give him that much. Hale's excellent during more emotional scenes, especially in ME1: with the, "What do you think you're doing Alenko/Williams?" on Virmire and great at her "flirting" voice. Whew. Now that's a voice.

I find that overall Hale is too well breathless and not forcefull enough in her delivery.

Overall I perfered Meer's VO. Then again I am a big proponent of the silent protagonist!

Haha, I love the KOTOR comparison. I can imagine Samara being all "my life for yours" creepy. Oh, nostalgia, there you are. The Miranda/Bastila part is kinda ironic....what with the whole Jennifer Hale thing.

Also confuzzles me how Shep could sling Kaidan over her shoulder on Virmire, or throw him around on Eden Prime. I mean, she is a rough-tough soldier boss-lady an' all. Makes you think...

It is a fireman's carry.   Even though women don't have as much arm strength as men, we make up for it with our strong legs.

True.  With another Spectre dedicated to taking Saren down, all the weight wouldn't have fallen upon Shepard's shoulders and there might have been a possibility of a few brief instances of downtime--although it was still an Alliance ship with an Alliance captain.  Nihlus was only a "visitor" on the ship even though he for all intents and purposes took over the ship.

ME1 *was* considered a race against time to stop Saren, after all. The ridiculous and optional sidequests and Mako meandering made it seem longer, but I'd like to think that in actuality, Shepard did not, in fact, put off saving Liara, hundreds of colonists, pursuing Benezia, or confronting Saren to go look at some minerals and chase space monkeys.

Hackett likes to see Shep run around. He's a sick old man.

And re: pyjacks, if you run one over, Kaidan laughs and says "Remind me not to get on your bad side, commander." I remember thinking...why? oh, crap, dead monkey. i think those were my only renegade points for kyrie in me1, since they didn't count most snarky convo options as renegade.

me2, however, i'm picking up the renegade points right and left.

Kyrie never *does* anything bad, but she really likes to cuss about doing what's right.

:?

i think i summed up my whole fic right there.

True, but I don't think Nihilus would have changed much of the average command structure. The Alliance probably would have given the ship to Shepard anyway - to keep up their image. And I am not so much into the idea that Nihilus commands Shepard but more trains her - gives her tips, shares secrets kind of thing. Doesn't make much sense, I know but still... maybe he could have taught Kaidan something... ahem... yes.

But since Shepard would still be a Spectre, I think it would have mainly be a change time management and yes, she would have had it a bit easier.

*randomness on* Great, got a song stuck in my head: Wondeful Life by HURTS and I can see the song going through my Shepard's head before she dies... hoping for Kaidan to move on. *randomness off*

@Bri:  Welcome back. Hope life has been treating you alright!

I think in ME1 that summed up Kate pretty well, did what's was right but cussed about it a whole lot.

In ME2, she still did what was right being a paragon but she sure did love some of the renegade interrupts.

Re: Nihlus. I noticed the other day when he tells Shepard "This is the first of several missions together."

And I thought, wow, what if I actually believed him. How cool would Spectre-In-Training missions be?! Like with Anderson and Saren, Shepard and Nihlus running errands for the council.

Then think if he was your only squad member the whole time and the whole Normandy crew just manned the ship. Don't like that as much.

Horizon proved one thing at least. Kaidan gives the best hugs.
