Miranda does mention she was the first one her father bothered to keep, which could mean a very long list of failures. Testing adding biotics after birth? Did speculate in the Jack thread that part of the Teltin project was actually taking a normal kid and making her a biotic. Seems right up there with the Illusive Man's plans for humanity.

But Miranda's age on the official website drives me crazy. So do the ages for Grunt, Mordin, Samara, and Zaeed. The only way I can make Miranda's age work for me is that she was grown at an accelerated rate before being "birthed."

Where is Ecael when you need her... I want a picture of Miranda in/coming out of Grunt's tank.

Edit:  No Kaidan picture for you!

morning/afternoon all

re: a few pages back - sia is correct: the person who "took" our fic did apologize to the both of us. i requested that this person edit the story to remove our borrowed work, which i hope will/can be done. dunno about that site's formatting. but it was a nice olive branch.

truly, i was so ticked about it yesterday that i had all these plans to write, but just couldn't. just felt - like my muse had been drop-kicked.

however, came to the computer this morning thinking "Screw that!" and  have been typing away - then got the message and felt better. hopefully will edit up and post by tonight. just... yeah - for those following that development.

talking about fic:

My little one-off story that I posted was originally just going to be a flashback for Kaidan in my ongoing story, but it kind of ballooned on its own and became its own piece.
I'm certain that Faith/Kaidan's meeting would be rather memorable.

that fic rocked, btw. :D i'm still just having this vision of kaidan staring after alexis...just...so confused....

How can Grunt's age bother you?  He's a test tube baby, a tank, came out fully grown.

Because I argue with people that Shepard's time being reconstructed by Cerberus does not mean Shepard gets to be 29 years old still by the time of ME2. Grunt might look like a 22 year old krogan, but he's only as old as when Okeer made him.

Tell them that if someone wakes up from a coma five years later that they still are five years older.

Yay for the muse taking action back. Love that! :D

And, yes, Kaidan was definitely left confused as Alexis seemed quite un-commanderly there. Posted Image

as much as i LOVE femshep being bada** and strong, i also love her moments of vulnerabilty. there are a few in me1, like NONE in me2.

me 1: admitting to liara about nightmares from beacon, talking to kaidan/ash about personal history, talking to VS about choosing who to leave behind. in me2, there were no such moments except *maybe* post horizon with joker. kelly didn't count to my mind. anyhow, it kind of saddened me. :(

Might I ask why? FemShep's sadness seemed rather genuine and painful when she talked about Kaidan with Kelly.

Well, for me, it was because she asks that question regardless of the Shepard. It completely loses its meaning when you realize that her question isn't romance specific. Neither is Joker's, actually.

The only romance carryover line that wasn't with the romanceable character was Kasumi's one line about Liara. The rest of the questions etc. go to every Shepard.

Honestly, I think that wasn't because they weren't meant to be romance-specific so much as Bioware was too lazy to make it that way. So they just stuck it in there for everyone with a variety of responses so you can reply as appropriate for your Shepard. And to think the reviewers complained about it being too ME1-referential... for God's sake, I thought that was the point of this series! If you'd asked me, I would've said screw the newbies; if they can't be bothered to get and play ME1 that's their problem. Go all out and make it a proper sequel with true carryover and continuity from ME1.

Edit: Okay, that might have come out a little too harsh.  What I'm trying to say is that from the beginning this series was sold as one story told over three games.  Given that, anyone interested enough to come into the series at part 2 should be interested enough to go back and enjoy it from the beginning.  I mean, I don't expect to jump into a novel series like, say, Lord of the Rings or The Wheel of Time halfway through and be able to pick up the story no problem.

This.

It's not like KOTOR with an entirely new company taking over the sequel, for crying out loud.   I think that, more than anything is what will ****** me off about ME3.  It's almost like we get punished for being fans.

Nice Joisan!

It was annoying that new fans got better treatment than returning fans. Give them a 10 minute defualt video for christs sake to get them in. Dont just ignore old fans.

I knew my boyfriend (who is big into shooter-style games) would like the gameplay of ME2, but I made him play ME1 before ME2. Because I wasn't about to let him skip the first part of the story to the game.

I'm hoping that ME3 will correct the continuity issues. (And I'm still in my cautiously optimisitic stage that BW does know what they are doing long term)

When my husband was looking for a new game I put ME1 on his PC so that he'd start from the beginning as well .

I know the feeling, but I can't get it to quite work on my newest PC.

I need Kaidan to come figure it out for me. Posted Image

It still works on my 360.  As long as I don't die and lose the audio.  Though your way sounds like a lot more fun.

And with that, I'm off to a baseball game.  Hopefully, the Astros win tonight.
