I keep seeing Sbarge in guest TV work, and it's highly disconcerting, as he is usually creepy. Or the father of a dead college student. Or something else not nearly as smexy as his VA work. And yet... same voice, but never as romantic in a TV/movie role. It's an odd contrast.

I was trying to come up with VAs who could keep up with Sbarge. Valentine did a lovely job for Alistair but outside of BW, I think the best is Tercelin Kirtley. Gosh I loved his VA in Dark Messiah - a game with one of the best cinematic ever... *randomness off*

I did like Zev's accent (I've always liked Puss-in-boots Posted Image )
But I can't think of any either.  Perhaps in part because the FF protagonists (the other series that I enjoy) are all so young!  Sbarge's voice is obviously for a more mature character.  I find that sexy.

Yeah.  Tried a couple of times to watch his visual performances.  Always freaks me out and have to turn it off.  LOL.

My favorite actors are the entire cast of Firefly, so BioWare should reunite them to be the party in DA2. ^_~ (And Gina Torres is my top choice for a femShepard if they do actually make a movie.) Maybe add some Ben Browder?  eta:  Or maybe Zachary Quinto?  (Dang, all my examples are from sci-fi shows.  I have a one track mind tonight.)

I'm not sure who else to recommend, as I never would've realized Valentine could be so deliciously romantic with his voice acting from just having seen him on Crossing Jordan. And Sbarge just is remarkably expressive.

@Jilly: That's the nice thing about Kirtley. He has decent looks and a great voice. The bad thing is - there are very few easily accessible works with him.
His voice is not quite comparable with Sbarge, but great in just a slightly different way.

@Jade: Zev's voice is alright and I really had to laugh when I recognized his voice actor in ME2, but he doesn't give me as much goosebumps as Sbarge or Kirtley.

I just really appreciate a good VA a lot. I personally think it can make or break a game.
Anyway, with that I will wave goodbye as shadows claim me. I have to hurry up to let that happen for dawn is nearly knocking on my window...
So NN or good morning to you folks

Here is a quick question for you:

Kenneth got the boot for sticking up for Shepard and defending his/her claims.

For this he got fired, while Kaidan gets promoted 2 ranks.

Does this mean he either, didnt defend shep's claims in the two years, or was he told to keep quiet and did that by the alliance and council? Or does he not believe Shep's claims till after Horizon?

I was watching Risky Business a while ago and saw his name in the credits so I rewatched part of it on the DVR.   I was like "really, that's Kaidans VA?"

I got the impression that Kenneth, neither an officer nor a biotic, went full insubordination (and was possibly very angry and/or drunk while doing so).

Kaidan I suspect would respectfully disagree but not push the point, and go back to doing what he's done for his entire career.  AND he has Anderson and possibly Hackett and maybe even Udina looking out for him.

Which character has Zev's voice?
And no.  Its not gooseflesh inspiring like Sbarge.

I was trying to think of other VG actors that have a hot voice--Sam Witwer from The Force Unleashed (Also Doomsday in Smallville and Crashdown in BSG).  But again, not Sbarge.  I just love how his voice is low and raspy/smokey.

I will go with the supposition that is put forth in many of the FF's.  That Kaidan tried to defend Shepard but couldn't push it  (1) because it would raise suspicion about his level of involvement with her and (2) he is an L2 biotic--L2's are always being watched for signs of instability.  They have smeared Shepard and called her crazy, etc.  Him supporting those claims would not help him or his cause.  He likely wouldn't have much choice but to back off.

Despite Horizon, Kaidan wasn't the type to just sell out Shepard after she died, especially if he was her love interest.  We still don't know what he was doing for those two years, and since his information was supposedly so classified that even TIM couldn't access it, it must have been important stuff.  So I'd imagine he was promoted once for the Battle of the Citadel, and once more for whatever he was doing afterwards.

I don't think he would have been yelling about the Reapers whereever he went, but I do think he would have tried to work with Anderson in any way he could in order to try to make the Reaper threat a priority for the Council.  Kaidan is VERY different from Kenneth, he would think carefully about his options and the best way to make his case to the powers that be.

If he was told to keep quiet, I think he would have done so, but because he trusted Anderson, and believed that he had the Alliance's best interests at heart when he gave him the command.  Even if he has his own opinion on how things should be done, Kaidan is a good soldier, and loyal to the Alliance.

I think the VS stayed quiet after a certain point in order to try to carry on Shepard's work. It's one of those things where they probably did Shep more honor by searching for evidence (what they seem to be doing) rather than getting booted from the service where they were close enough to do something good.

getting caught up...

Jade5233 wrote...

I've been reading a lot of the various FF here. And I've noticed something. Kaidan comes off as rather cold in some of them. Understandably due to the heartaches he's suffered in ME2. But we've really only seen him in resonse to Shepard. What do you think his baseline was before her? Chakwas said he kept to himself. So i could see some people interpreting that as cold or distant.

i see kaidan as distant - but not cold. that's what people - even shep, often - see him as, but he's not. he's an introvert, i think, but a social one. that's not easy to do, because you eventually hit a point where you just have to get some space and people often don't get that - especially if five minutes before you were talking and being normal and all. this is my take.

and considering that regs would hit him harder than shepard and force him to be transferred, he's in a really tough situation. just saying

TS2Aggie wrote...

For the record: he doesn't say the 'This can't change anything' line if you use the renegade option to convince him to be with you.

Shepard: "Shut up and get over here."
Kaidan: *amused* "Careful, Commander, or else I might think you're abusing your authority."

I can understand his caution, though. He's very loyal to the marines and deliberately going against regs is a serious issue for him. He has to feeling a lot of trepidation about breaking the rules due to his own emotions.

agreed.

i have only once chosen the renegade line there, and while it amused me, it also made me sad. he calls her "commander." the other way, he seems to get nervous and calls her "shepard." ("This can't change anything Shepard. This is a good crew. I don't want to mess that up.")  to me, i felt like while both lines were very kaidan (an in the fanfic, i believe i worked in both, just cause i liked them so much) in actually playing the game, i always went with the neutral line ("I don't want a pet...") because something about getting that nervous, hesitant response seemed much more telling and genuine than the other. as much as i loved that shep got a laugh out of him, the other line seemed more like the both of them falling in love. (and i am a hopeless romantic)

Good Morning:)

just finished my weekend shopping ...RL is keeping me really busy these days...*sighs*

I never had the feeling, that Kaidan acted cold. He's calm, reasonable and maybe in some ways reserved, but also he is friendly to the others and has got some good humor... imo

Kenneth and Kaidan are not to compare. It does not fit in Kaidan's character and I think he knows, that he would damage Shepard's work, if he'll would just running wild about the reapers everywhere...

Just a heads up to everyone:

Apparently some people are chopping up quotes from our posters here whenever we talk about the ME2 romances and using them to bash us, this thread and Kaidan. So, you guys might not want to even discuss Garrus, Thane or even Jacob because you'll likely be quote-mined. Apparently, you're not even allowed to say that a romance didn't appeal to you, no matter how nicely you may say it.

Honestly, with all the drama, bashing and bullsh!t that's gone on in these forums, I'm about to simply retire to a private group.

I'm not surprised, people do like to get into it when it comes to the romances.
Private group sounds awesome.

EDIT

I did see some of the comments made, they didn't seem bad at all. Not any different than any comments I'll run into here every now and then.
