I must say I'm... shocked. Kaidan had so much anti-fans after the first Mass Effect. Now the whine-threads are so unpopular, that's really amazing. What happened to this character that he made himself a small cult, eh?

Don't get me wrong, I... well, love support Kaidan and Shepard relationship completely, I'm happy we're able to sustain it, and I hope we'll be able to develop it. I'm just not a fan of over-interpretation and whining which seem to be a subject of the topics created at every half of the hour. And not a fan of fan-fiction in general (deduction, suggestion and pairings from hell, because a major part of those things are written by some sexual thrust, I don't know how to call it), I prefer to have things left in a matter for conjecture sometimes, but I like to fantasize about facts that are obvious for some scenarios. So if anyone knows fan-fiction in form of a short story, about "some epic Shepard's team adventure, romance - optional" or even description of an actual story from the game, something that's not just dwelling upon this whole Shenko stuff, I'd be grateful for directing me to it

I don't think I'll be able to dig up through all the 209 pages, but what got my interest was those few posts about Shepard's lack of feminity. I agree that she lost all the feminine features she had in previous game (beside the looks and her voice). She walks like a guy with his ankle twisted. But really? Can't blame her with the weight of the things she stand against. There's no place to show your soft side in ME2, which is kinda not fair imho - everyone's sharing their problems with Shepard, but Shepard's not sharing with anyone. Since when she turned to be a therapist, I don't know. If I remember, only Kaidan and Ash were honored with some of her personal stories. And it wasn't much of it.

Still she's never gonna be this type of a kickass woman major Kusanagi is. I'm a fan of Shirow and his type of a strong, independent, yet sensitive solider girl (Deunan Knute is the best example). FemShep is harder to identify with, alas, for me.

So, I'll be lurking around some more and for the end, there's some smoochies for you, girls (I guess there's majority of girls who post in this thread).

Redundant by The Odd Little Turtle is the one I'm keeping the closest eye on right now. The relationship is rather slow but it is starting to show up somewhat...the latest chapter had Shep comparing Kaidan to someone she was intimately involved with in the past...very subtle...I'm hoping that eventually it will get stronger as more chapters are written. Turtle does an excellent job portraying some of the other characters in the game and their relationships with one another and when she uses humor she always hits a home run. You may already be following it.

If you haven't read After the End by Harpandsword I would highly recommend it...like I said in a previous post it's my favorite.

I'm about to head out as well for the day as well, to start with I have my regular torture I mean massage appointment to go to.  I have fibromyalgia which causes all the muscles in my body to tie themselves into knots and If they aren't worked out with deep tissue massage I wind up in constant physical therapy from injuring myself, neck, back, hips, shoulders on a rotating schedule.  Knotted muscles + all 3 forms of scoliosis is a nasty combo.
I wonder if Kaidan would be good at giving massages.

edit note - someone is going to come up with the "this way to the gutter I mean Kaidan Alenko support thread pic" after this last comment.
