It occurred to me today that if Kaidan comes back in ME3, we probably won't get much backstory, seeing as how he's already been "established."

Sadness!

Hopefully, we will at least get character growth.  (Or, you know, Kaidan at all.  )

re: fic writing. I finished three chapters last week, and not even a single word for my shenko fic this week. Some other stuff got a little bit, but... *shrugs* Considering I've suddenly been weirdly sick this week, I appear to have a cold in my muse, giving me a headache. *snorts*

That sucks when the creativity slows like that.  Then its hard to get back into the same mindset.
Is there something that we could help brainstorm for you--the "hive mind" thing?

@Kaidan backstory in ME3.  No.  I don't think we will either.  We got as much backstory as BW is going to give us, I'm sure.  Ashley even has a birthdate.  Ah well.  Its the female demographic getting the short end of the stick.
Like with the whole ME movie.  1st, VG movies usually aren't good.  But there's not really a point to me being interested.  It will be a male Shepard.  So Kaidan (if they bother with him at all) will be Virmired.  And I don't want to see him die--even going out as a hero.

you know, i doubt we'll get any ingame stuff, but ashley had that little "letter" on the bW site during ME1 launch. would be nice to get a similar "file" on kaidan. come on devs! just a little writing. we'd all happily eat it up!

I've never played any biotic class for more than a few minutes so I can't help with that decision. Yay for Shenko files though!

Playing as an adept was a lot of fun. Tossing around krogan and geth was an amusing sight...especially when you and another biotic do it together.

I've beaten ME2 on Insanity. I haven't gone back to do Insanity in ME1 yet. I had just unlocked it when I last played through with my Vanguard on ME1.

i'm playing me2 on hardcore. at first i thought 'dear god, what am i doing?' but now i'm wishing i'd done insanity. it's addicting to have the difficulty so pumped up. i'm getting sort of used to it. i just finished the collector ship, however, and i'm not quite sure how i eventually managed to kill the praeotorian (i think it was a lot of barrier + particle beamage) or the husk rush (that was wildly punching, garrus with concusive shot, miranda dead, and barrier and running in circles like an idiot)

so yeah. try hard core or insanity. is FUN!

i fell in love with adept, btw. i've played vanguard, and it's hella fun, but something about taking nothing to a fight but singularity, warp and a pistol. it's just so...awesome. when i travel, i always pack light.

I have a soft spot for video game movies, but I'm not sure I like the idea of a ME movie. 

I think Kaidan actually has a good chance of surviving the ME movie though, if he's in it at all.  The ME1 trailer had the DefaultShepard/Ashley pre-Ilos scene, but it also had Ashley both guarding the bomb and being left behind on Virmire, too.  I rather suspect if the movie does go through as ME1, then it'll have the love triangle, Ashley will get left behind, and Liara will get Shepard by default.

Although they don't really need Kaidan for that, so... yeah.  Gut feeling, so no telling.  <_<

I really feel like Kaidan just looks disgusted here. Is this from the confrontation scene? I never ever got that. Not  in...um...7 playthroughs? I just couldn't lead them both on.
