Well "loyalty missions" were misnamed. It was more about squadmates dealing with distractions so they could die more or less at peace. For Kaidan, I think I would have one of the kids who was broken by BAAT make a return and confront Kaidan in some way.

Continuing to play Kaidan's romance and it continues to be great. I hadn't played ME in over a year until ME2 came out, and I've been playing mostly MaleSheps in an attempt to work out my complicated feelings toward Miranda. It feels good to be back with a more natural-feeling FemShep. This is a dry run for my "canon" Shep and now I know she'll be romancing Kaidan.

i'd like kaidan's to be one that showed off his leadership abilities.  instead of propping up shepard.  he's no longer her subordinate and it would be neat having him order her around.  or hot.  depending on the gamer.

i recently picked up me1 again solely to romance the lieutenant.  i'm rather enamored by him.  he's such a sweetie and so considerate to my femshep.

Yeah.  Perhaps rather than him being your squadmate on a mission, perhaps you pick up Kaidan as a squadmate by being his backup on a mission instead--that you have his back rather than he yours.  You're "along for the ride" but your skills and perhaps knowledge of Cerberus stuff help him in what he need to get done.

I just did the "leaving a way out" talk with him again.  He's so cute.  Shy, but also letting her know his interest, supporting her by giving her the benefit of his experience.  Posted Image

Re: Liara's big surprise

An email?  Saying she's pregnant from trying to decode the beacon information in Shepard's mind?  XD

Oh no.  That would hurt Kaidan.
Whose fic was that--"Godfather"?
No.  Can't do that to Kaidan or to Ash.  Just no.

  Teen
I still can't imagine how Bioware is
going to give Kaidan/Ashley satisfying roles in ME3 after their scene on
Horizon.  It feels like they've written themselves into a corner,
unless they want to continue smearing the VS and make them a traitor or
enemy next time.  That would have seemed impossible while waiting for
ME2, but now I'm not so sure.

Only if you Renegade.
Otherwise I can't see it.
3 act play, people.  2nd act is the darkest.  So if that were to happen it would have done so already.
3rd act will be "up" for the VS--unless you chose another LI in ME2.

EDIT:  Need a photo
I was trying to find the other shirtless one, but this biotic god one will do:

So i have a question, I'm playing ME1 on the pc(never really played games on the pc but am enjoying it so far) i'm using steam and was wondering how i can take screenshots of Kaidan, i doubt that just pressing the print screen button will work. I might sound like an idiot for not knowing but like i said i've never really played pc games til now. Help?

:D

For the most part, this program.

There is also a command to take screenshots in the game itself, but it requires tinkering to activate it.

Or she is pregnant... from Kaidan (because we all know who the "doctor" on the citadel was).

My Sheploo is goin to tell Kaidan:  What the hell?  Do you think this is Pearl Harbor or something?
*renegade interupt option appears* Get over here... I'm going to KICK YOUR ASS!

Oh, and I forgot.  Re: Loyalty mission.

The only one I can see BioWare pulling up is somehow dealing with Rahna, so I rather hope they don't.  It might have potential, but I feel it'd be too much of a hack job.

Also, I wanted to ask... did I  ask?  I mean to ask, anyway:

Considering the default choices for ME1 -> ME2 in the ME2 new game has Kaidan surviving for FemSheps and Ashley surviving for ManSheps, do you think they'll implement being able to start a brand new romance come ME3?  Just... considering that can't really be a coincidence...

If they do that... then they will have to do that for people who imported a game from ME2 to ME3 who didn't (or did) romance someone and for someone who imported a game from ME1 to ME2 to ME3 who didn't (or did) romance someone.

You think they'll have the option for someone to import a game from ME1 directly to ME3? I wouldn't take that for granted just yet.

Nope... but one from ME1 to ME2 to ME3... yes. Almost all of us are going to be doing that.

No!  ... what about the New Players who simply cannot be bothered to play the older, less interesting ME games?  Those who outtnumber the old guard en masse?  I have seen it before!  MADNESS!  Lunacy!

ME1 to ME2 to ME3... yes
ME2 to ME3... yes
ME1 to ME3... no
As for ME3 newcomers... they shouldn't even be allowed to play the game (it is their fault that there is a canon default Shepard to begin with).

@ nick: oi, i know. i cannot even imagine someone trying to play me3 without playing the first two. i was painful for me to watch the hubby play me2 w/o having played me1.

oh, and the "godfather" fic was fort's. i got the impression that it was a shep who chose liara over kaidan though. the prothean mind meld seemed clearly just business thing.

i hope <_<

It was very good.  But...poor Kaidan.
And yeah.  It was a Shep choice, not from the in-game mind melds.  Just reminded me of that.
Reminds me, I think I still need to review that one...  EDIT: Actually, I did review it.  Yay!

I'm going to have to replay Avery through ME1. Her ME2 game is difficult without him.

Liara has been on Illium since she retrieved Shepard's body.  The usual suspect is Dr. Chloe Michel (it does seem kind of in-your-face that he mentions his date's profession) or someone she set him up with.

Liara apparently can't get pregnant, since she's in the Maiden stage, and the Matron stage doesn't come around for another hundred years for her, at least.  Retribution had new info on asari.  I would love to read a book from their perspective, all about their culture.

I was under the impression that Maidens could push forward into Matron if they wanted to/embraced eternity too much.  But I don't remember where I picked that up.

So... if Kaidan had the opportunity that Liara had, that is... to give Shepard to Cerberus... would he?

Not romanced, I can't see it happening.  But romanced?

that's a tricky one. kaidan may be torn between letting shepard go and potentially getting her back. the benefits of having her revived would be she's the only person capable for whatever reason of battling the reapers. the downside is you're playing god with someone's life. it's definitely not an easy choice.
