[Carth voice] Down you go! [/Carth voice]  Posted Image

Posted Image Holy...I could actually hear the voice. I could hear him shouting it as we...and Bastila....maybe...would fight Sith.
That was a weird moment of deja vu. Posted Image

Did it happen to anyone else? Posted Image

Edit: Top of the page...gah, I don't know how to put in pictures! There! I wrote it! Posted Image
Someone be kind enough to do it for me?

Yeah. Love hearing that voice regardless of the character. And Carth is right up with with Kaidan for best VG LI of all time. *Sigh*

Yea, it is good to see the filth flying in here ( and I mean filth in the loveliest of terms) I needed a pick me up. Looking for apartments on a student budget gets real depressing, real fast!

Evening gutter. :)

And yes, Carth and Kaidan are both wonderful. Go Team Sbarge! (I still think he should be a villain in Dragon Age, if only to inspire some spectacular crack ff because of the voice.)

As long as we could still LI him.  I always play a "good" character.  But I would totally be up for going to the dark side for that voice.

I doubt they'll ever cast the same voice actor for an LI again, just to avoid the immediate mental connection between disparate characters/universes. Sbarge is still a great VA, though, so I'd enjoy hearing him do a different sort of part, but something that still had a lot of range. (Which gets you villain roles if you're not the hero or the hero's LI in most stories.)

I just couldn't imagine Sbarge's sexy voice as a villain. He would probably be the first and only villain that I ever fell in love with...

You know I've never played KOTOR (*gasp* *shock*...though in my defense I have been looking for the game to see if I can find it on the xbox) so the only Sbarge voice I've heard is Kaidan's. I'm kinda afraid to look at YouTube videos of Carth mainly because I don't want to get him in my head when I think of Kaidan. But now that I see everyone here talking about Carth, I'm getting antsy about finding that darn game! Last option - buy it for the computer, though I'm not much of a computer gamer.

I laughed very hard when Kaidan called Joker paranoid. I like Kaidan much better than Carth, though.

Kassy: It's pretty much point and click. Think DA:O except even less action-RPG than that. So you're really not missing much at all not playing it on a console, and most new computers can run it. Hell, even my crappy laptop with no video card to speak of can run it, though the shine on the Sith armor doesn't work and I have to turn off the grass because it doesn't render properly. And Carth really will make you melt into a little pile of fangirl goo if you stick with him long enough for him to really open up to you.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add one more reason to get it for PC: Carth Romance Fix Mod. 'Nuff said.

me too. but i played kotor after me1 and i'd already fallen for kaidan. sadly, i just can't get too into any other LI anymore. i kept waiting for kaidan to crash da:o and help me take out the archdemon w/o morrigan's crazy help.

personally, i'd love to see uh, the garrus-voice-guy again. though i prefer kaidan to garrus, the VA for garrus has an awesome voice and i think without the turian synth on it, could be different enough to not immediately conjure up a be-mandibled face for me.

Garrus' VA is Brandon Keener.

I liked Kaidan a lot more than Carth. Carth's a good character but I'm just not patient enough for trust issues.

Hehe glad I'm not the only one who found that amusing and ironic.
Honestly, though, I think for me it's a tie between Kaidan and Carth.  Carth might even win by a little (yes, I know, blasphemy).  Carth and... I'll use my PC's name: Andra... just makes me melt because once you win his heart, he'll go to the ends of the universe for you; he doesn't give up on you no matter how badly you rip his heart out and trample on it.  Kaidan and Shepard I like too; I came to Kaidan directly from Carth and it was like a breath of fresh air because it's just so down-to-earth, so normal.  Like they could be the couple next door.  There's not the high drama there is in KotOR.  But at the same time, I like the drama, you know.  I like the whole love that defies all odds and overcomes all obstacles thing, the kind of love that I, who have never had a boy look at me twice, can only dream about.  So to me, as sweet and sexy and melty as Kaidan and Shepard may be, it's like a star beside Carth's sun.  Plus, the fact that Bioware did such a crap job with Horizon doesn't exactly help the Kaidan/Shepard case.  Yes, I know it's not the character's fault but it's sad that I have to go to fanfic like Jilly's Lost for Words and Shenzi's JBHWTBA to find a version of that trainwreck that actually makes sense to me.  Really sad, too, because up until the end of the hug, Kaidan's return on Horizon totally had me melting.

Edited to add: And don't get me wrong, I love Kaidan to pieces.  I could name so many moments that make me want to cry or giggle or just plain melt, and I'm going to be devastated if ME3 doesn't do him justice.  Like I said, it's basically a tie, with Alistair a close third.

I was never into Keener's voice but one airline commercial -or something where he's on a plane at least- wasn't bad.

@ Jo: thanks for the insight on kotor and carth. I think I will get it on the comp. I like your take on kaidan/shepard and how they could be the cool couple next door. Kaidan is my favorite LI (with Alistair in second place) and I was also devastated by Horizon. Here's hoping to a better reunion in ME3!

Not ususally a big fan of drawn Kaidan art.  But wow.  I think I've found new wallpaper for my work computer.

@Kassy:  Yes.  You have to play KOTOR.  Go with the computer version.  Very easy to play.  And then there's the mod--just don't get the "Star Wars:  Best of PC" version.  The mod doesn't work.  I just crashes the game and makes Juhani hit on you.  Big disappointment for me.
And make sure to tease Carth/fight with him.  He likes it when you get saucy with him.  I love that about his character.
e.g. (to the best of my memory from playing the other day)
Player Character:  "I have ways of making you talk, Carth.  Trust me."
Carth:  "Well, I might just take you up on that sometime..."

Carth and Kaidan are such different men.  And I love them both in their own ways.  For my own personality, Carth would likely be a better fit due to his playfulness--I can wait out his trust issues.  He has his reasons.  Kaidan would likely drive me nutz with having to be so reserved and cryptic all of the time.  But he is mighty sweet and so cute when he flirts and smiles in that shy way of his.  He's a very close second.

Josian:  Well, Carth does pull away for a bit there in the story.  That hurt.  All of your NPC's stand by you.  And you're back to square one with him again.  Ugh!  But he comes around and like was mentioned, he'll stay with you to the end--either way.  Never could go Dark Side.  Couldn't do that to him.  Not ever.
My fav Carth fan art is here:  http://browse.devian...set=312#/drreaq

@Garrus.  Yes.  He has a great voice, too.  I'd love to hear him more as well.

Well, good night all!  Happy Kaidan dreams to all.

Actually, Jade. I have BOPC and the mod works just fine for me.

Heh, my favorite teasing Carth moment would have to be this:

Carth: Oh yeah? Well, listen, beautiful, I don't need to take this abuse; I get enough female Jedi bashing from Bastila, thank you very much.

PC: Admit it, you love the attention.

Carth: You think so? I could probably get the same kind of attention from a blaster rifle.

PC: Oh, I think there's things I can do that a blaster can't.

Carth: Now that I'd like to see. Or... would I? You've got my damn head on backwards, you know that?

I've said it before but I'll say it again: my favorite Kaidan/Shepard moment would have to be:

"Careful, Lieutenant; you'll distract me from saving the galaxy."

"It'll take care of itself one of these days... or nights."

Just a hint of that flirtatious playfulness that I so love about the KotOR relationships. Though with Kaidan and Shepard it would have been out of place... I guess what I'm saying is, Shenko is perfect for who those characters are and the Carth-femPC relationship is perfect for their characters. And I love them both to pieces.

Now I definitely need to get kotor. Only problem is the addicting part. When ME2 came out I literally took off a couple of days off from work and I played nonstop until I finished it. I'll probably wait to get kotor for next weekend. That way I can spend all weekend playing it without wasting my "sick" dats at work lol!

I was totally the same way as you when I first played KOTOR.  Didn't care for Carth very much, and felt like Bioware was sticking female players with a "lesser" romance than what the guys got *again*.  I saw that other women liked him, but I think I was too impatient to appreciate him, at the time.

I played again recently, and actually played through the whole romance, with the mod that fixes it, and I liked it a lot more.  Carth only has issues when you push him.  Of course you're going to push him, because you're the player, and you want to hear every dialogue, but he doesn't know that.
