i do not want a confrontation scene either. i have no idea why that appeals to some gamers. my shep would kick their ass. "hey, eventually we're gonna battle some reapers but first could we discuss our love lives and then quarrel about it." no. say goodnight, manuel...

A non-romanced Kaidan at Horizon is just as painful to sit through. I currently am playing a single femShepard that just did Horizon. He quirked an awesome little half smile before he shook my hand. Then he was all mean, angry Kaidan. :(

this. i saw non-romanced kaidan first so i think the hug had me so  it sort of was like Horizon immunization. didn't bother me as much, the yelling.

re: Kaidan a bad boy. he's not. but i think the line shepard says, if you choose the "paragon" path with kelly's questions about thane is "I live a dangerous life. Dangerous men fit right in."  i really wanted a kaidan specific line, but no dice.

A confrontation scene may be something akin to the Kaidan/Liara confrontation scene in ME1. It's simply a moment where you have to choose between the two. It doesn't mean that there will be a drawn out fight with words, fists, guns or biotics.

I agree. The hug helps temper some of the angst from the yelling. At least the immediate sting.

But I was very jealous of the half-smile he gives the non-romanced Shepards. It was so damn sexy.

though we do hope it will take into account the fan base a little, right? :P

It seems to me that saying something about how these statistic shape things can be used as a cop out for not including certain things.

Sadly, no I didn't have Fraps running when I went through Horizon with her. However, I've not done anything since then, so I may be able to playback the last part of the mission.

Would I do that for a Kaidan pic? ;)

Yes. Jut because a particular Shepard romance Thane doesn't mean I don't love Kaidan. I love Kaidan and Liara, but I also love Thane and Miranda. I refuse to choose between them.

Okay.  The podcast was right.  There is a way to shut it off for your account.
On the menu screen go:
"Options" -> "Online" -> "Upload Gameplay Feedback" -> NO
I would assume they put that as an option due to privacy laws.
Ha!  That's what I'll do then.  They already have my Kaidan faithful Shep uploaded to them.  And I'll keep the option on "no" for the rest.  I feel better now.  Posted Image

Is that just for the Xbox, or for PCs too?  I'll have to check that out when I get home.

I don't necessarily think that anything bad will happen to any of the love interests in ME3 just because of statistics (as people have said, if even one person enjoyed a certain love interest, it wouldn't be fair to cut them out or not give that player the possibility of a happy ending), but the lack of information about what they'll use it for makes me cautious.

I would be very annoyed if Casey Hudson gave interviews after ME3 came out saying that statistics from ME2 shaped the storyline.  Good writing should not depend on consumer surveys.

I know that I am being paranoid.  Its more likely for style of play, etc, and not for storyline since they say that they have had the overall storyline mapped out since the beginning of the ME1 project.  But I just don't want to take chances and this is an easy enough thing to do.

EDIT:  And PC menu is likely the same or similar.

They've admitted that there is a bug with Conrad. I've gotten him to say both the Paragon and Renegade action to the same Shepard, but he defaults to the gun line as his starting line.
I personally think it is less likely that BW is using these statistics to purposefully marginalize Kaidan, Ashley or Liara. I think if they are using "cheating" statistics for anything, it is to find out the % to see if it is a waste of resources to do a confrontation scene.
That's my personal opinion though.

yeah. i think so.  and while i don't think any import of mine will give kaidan any reason for it, i think there's enough fan base to warrant one. i don't want to see it, but then, i didn't want to see jacob's abs, either. (no offense jacob. i'm sure they're lovely)

Kaidan: Commander? Why are we both holding assault rifles? You're an adept, I'm a sentinel. Shouldn't we just stick to the pistols and the biotics?

Shepard: You're right. Screw cut-scene weaponry. Let's see what we can loot from these dead colonists.

Kaidan: I thought you were a colonist.

Shepard: I was.

Kaidan: ....

Kaidan: Wait, commander... How come I got the droopy-looking pistol?

Shepard: Just stick it up, lieutenant.

Kaidan: *coughs*

Shepard: *fights a grin*

Kaidan: ....

My adepts all had assault rifle bonus powers.... although I'm doing a ME1 playthrough with a shotty for the hell of it.

my 1st me2 playthrough was a throw-away jerk male shep renegade who went for miri, just because he thought she was the hottest girl on the ship. so yeah, i LOVE the idea that *that* would count against kaidan.

ah...yeah. sarcasm there. truly though, considering how some people will play through every dang option *just* to see what they are, they can't really be thinking that this would be a good measure of the data. you can't tell if a char was *true* or not by the paramour acheivement - just that the me2 LIs were compelling enough to be used. which, let's face it, they were. not to be my fave, but certainly good enough to look into.

eh...part-whole fallacy going on here. cause-effect, too, i think. can't remember. logic class too far gone from my mind. but clearly a fallacy here.

okay, just saw femshep/liara smex scene for the first time on you tube. i never realized that femshep/kaidan she gets the "girl" parts - the jump up and kiss thing was liara in the other version. i like femshep doing the grab and kiss better

Funnily enough I'm having trouble deciding whether I should romance Kaidan or Liara with a violent, nihilistic Renegade Sole Survivor. I can't decide whether it's "better" for Kaidan to call her a traitor for working with people she hates or for her to completely lose it when she learns that Liara gave her to Cerberus despite knowing they made her life hell. Either way, she isn't happy with her LI. Complicating matters is the fact that the one I don't romance will get the sane, faithful Paragon. Ah, choices.

mmm, Kaidan sweet tooth?

cookies!

Hot fudge (Shepard) sundae

On a more serious note, I vote for italian. All that pasta would be good for filling a biotic belly.
