I find non-biotic characters boring as hell to play. They also don't seem to go as well with a certain lieutenant.

I think the opposite :D
Being a soldier means rushing to the first line and taking direct hits. I imagined him getting slightly overprotective at that times, thus trying to give all he got in the battles.
My first Soldier build was disaster, I underestimated shotguns and sniper rifles, then recreated, picked up Throw and fooled around with enemies (no, nothing more sophisticated, as I roleplayed her as not really gifted biotic).

Damn, ME was fun.

Then, Marge used the Lazarus as an excuse for chip upgrade and switched proffesion to Sentinel. I find tech armor incredibly appealing...

I know that not everyone here uses biotic Shepards, it just annoys me when people say that non-biotic Shepards are worse than biotic Shepards.

Especially in regards to the relationship they have with Kaidan.

I'm almost 100% certain that Sialater was referring to her own Shepards with her statement.  All 12+ of them from ME1 that have romanced Kaidan.

Generally speaking most of us here aren't going to make sweeping statements that criticize or bash the way another person plays. We're going to offer forward our opinion based on our characters. I know that Sia's a wrtier, and she puts alot of thought into her characters - even the ones that she doesn't write about. Chances are, her non-biotic Shepards were more difficult to mesh up with Kaidan for her. That's my guess at least.

Personally, my biotic Shepard has been the best match for him of my Shepards. (And I where I agree with Jaer's comment about balancing Kaidan - I think it's less to do with class/biotics and more to do with temperment). I've had four Shepards in ME1, three of which romanced him.

Kesley Shepard (Infiltrator turned Soldier; ME1 to ME2): Romanced Kaidan. She's my "test" character to learn the controls, combat system and get comfortable with the game. She typically will make the decisions that my "cannon"  Shepard will make.

Alexis Shepard (Vanguard): Romanced Kaidan. This is my "cannon" Shepard. She's Paragon, but she has a rather nasty temper at times (which in ME1 - she talks to her Lt. in order to vent and keep from letting said temper interfere with the mission). She doesn't need him to tell her what's the right thing to do. She just sometimes wants to tell that person off (when really she should try to bite her tongue).

Mellisandre Shepard (Adept): Romanced Kaidan. Probably the "Worst" fit for him of my Shepards. She's entirely Renegade, and turns out, very pro-Cerberus. Nicest thing I can say is she's a manipulative little witch.

Valerie Shepard (Solider turned Infiltrator): Single Shepard. She was not interested in a relationship in ME1. It had nothing to do with biotics, and everything to do with being single-mindedly focused on her career.

The great thing about Kaidan is that, no matter what your class, as a Sentinel, he offers something to the team. Yay for sexy biotic techies!!!

...!

No, that's... accurate, I guess.

Hey gals, you're getting rather cliquish.  It's really starting to read like you're saying "My Shepard a better match for Kaidan because she's a biotic".  It's okay to have an opinion, but you don't need to bash other people.

I play an Infiltrator and she meshes with Kaidan perfectly.  Just because Maddie isn't a biotic, doesn't mean that can't sympathize with what he went through.  And since she is just a "normal" human, she may even help him feel a bit more accepted.

As for game play, I love sniping.  One shot, one kill is very, very satisfying.  And all good snipers need someone to watch their backs.  Someone handy with pistols and the ability to push enemies back *hint, hint*.

It was a joke.  Plus.. what Sapphy said.

Have a Kaidan:

Thank you, Ako....

God... 12 Shepards.  I don't even know if I can remember all their names or what specialties they were.  Curse you, XBOX!  Curse you!

Jillian Shepard:  Vanguard, Paragon, Earthborn, Sole Survivor.  First Shepard, most beloved.  May she rest in peace. I was going for Level 60 on Insanity with her when the machine died.
There were two Averys, one a war hero, one an SS, both colonists.  May they rest in peace.
Moira Shepard, Vanguard, Paragrade (Basically, the rough draft of Meghan), she went to the RROD in the sky, too.
I had an infilrator, an engineer, a soldier, another Adept and a Sentinel.

And then we replaced the XBOX and I had to start all over with the new Avery, the new Meghan and the only single Shepard:  Rachel.

hmm...that's a hot look.

and re: kaidan as a biotic, my original point in bringing up that the KAST becomes this place of people who know/study the biotic end of things was not meant to sound cliquish to non-biotic players. i was just observing that i like biotics as a part of the ME universe and that it's cool and it adds depth to the story and to kaidan. *I* personally love to play biotics, which i think is obvious. however, i envy infiltrators and often want to become one. but maybe another shep.

anyhow, no offense meant and i hope that if you stick around razor, you'll find that the folks here are very nice.

yes. i know some people do not like kaidan's thick eyebrows, but they often allow him to have a very lovely glower.

that is a word, right? glower? spellcheck didn't take issue with it.

But he's doing it in such a sexy way.  It looks like the scene where Shepard just woke up after Eden Prime, I'm interpreting it as a sidelong "Oh crud, will she blame me???" glance.

Maybe I projected my current feelings about my headache onto it :?

Yep, glower is a great word.  I just hope Kaidan isn't using those expressive eyebrows to be angry at Shepard anymore in ME3.  I want my shy, sweet, funny, respectful Kaidan eyebrows back!

I don't care for biotics in the first game, I prefer guns. Love biotics in the second and they come in handy, but I still prefer guns.

Hola people!

I just finished my Insanity save as an Engineer (I know it took me long enough) and while at the Citadel, my brother mentioned how I always bring Kaidan and Wrex with me when I'm femShep.

I thought about and realized that, well, those are probably my two favorite male characters in the squad. They always have my back with their biotics and I don't have to worry about constantly checking to see if they need medi-gel. Plus, they are awesome. 'Nuff said. I always have them "checking my six".

I know some people liked the Kaidan and Garrus pair from reading fanfics and other comments but what about the other people? Kay?

Oh and...I was wondering if people had written any stories about Mama Shepard meeting Mama/Papa Alenko or just Kaidan. Just wondering...cuz I would like to read it...>.<

I kind of like the idea of a soldier Shep with Kaidan; it gives a nice contrast. Each one can help the other gain a perspective of how people with/without biotics approach missions and/or everyday life.
