Hmmm I did; I did everything to make it known that Shep missed Kaidan and hoped to work things out in the future... but I don't remember exactly what Joker said. I can only find one conversation set with him on youtube from this; guess I'll have to replay.

He says something along the lines of...that's why I don't date co-workers after Shep reveals what happened on Horizon. I don't remember the exact dialog option though.

Kaidan's message got me wondering - he asks her if their night before Ilos meant anything to her, told her that it meant the world to him.  Does that imply something about their relationship between the end of ME1 and the beginning of ME2 (or the lack of one)? It seems like, if they had had 'shore leave' together and said their "I love you's" and such that we love to read and write into fanfics (myself included!!) that he would refer to that time as a whole, not just Ilos. Also, is it fair to assume that he would know how much it meant to her, because she would have told him she loved him? Or do you think they would have pulled a "Now that we're not being threatened immediately by Sovereign and Saren, we can slow things down a little bit, and take our time because we both suck at relationships," kind of move? Haha I know, for the sake of practicality, that it makes sense to only refer to Ilos because that happened in-game. I guess I'm just looking for something to fill the gap. I can't see them just going back to normal after that - it was clear (to me, anyway) that it was so much more than just physical. They relied on eachother, confided in and watched out for eachother; that wouldn't just end, would it? So why would he only refer to that one night? Because it was first?

Now I'M the one thinking too much about this.

I think we each look at what he meant in the email differently. After all, we have that month between ME1 and ME2 that we can speculate about. I know some people said that alot of guys focus on an event as the "impact" point so to speak of the relationship, and Ilos would certainly have been that if you want to take that approach for Kaidan.

I personally think that based on their positions - and not wanting to jeopardize the crew and mission - that so far it has only been Ilos. There was lots of talking and longful stares, and wishes about some shore leave - but there was also a galaxy to save and some unwanted fame to deal with (because Shep is going to get alot of attention being the Spectre that saved the Citadel), so there hasn't been much time where they can work out beyond what happend at Ilos.

But that's for my personal Shep.

I don't think it was more than one night. This has nothing to do with how they feel - once they're back to business, there's no way they're going to be sleeping together on the Normandy in front of the crew - much too unprofessional (at least for my Paragon Shep, and definitely for Kaidan). Kaidan even said before Ilos that he didn't want their relationship to screw things up on the ship, and said earlier how he was looking forward to some shore leave. So I'm sure they were going to keep a professional front until they had some off-duty time together. Too bad it didn't work out.

Totally off the current topic but after I saw someone mention in another thread that the default survivor  for a male Shep  without a ME1 save game is Ash and knowing that the default survivor for a female Shep without a ME1 save game is Kaidan it seems like they are setting up the possibility for romance with those character in ME3 even if you didn’t romance them in ME1.

So hopefully a sign that we really are going to get our Kai Kai back for a squdmate in ME3.

Btw, took an odd shot of Kaidan and it really shows the structure of his hair very well. Far more curly than I suspected.

I've noticed the same thing in the video I took of Horizon. The texture of his hair reminds me of my boyfriend's hair, actually. (And my boyfriend has super curly hair... now if only I could convince him that it is more attractive short than long on top and short on the sides)

He does have remarkable curvy hair, I have to admit. Mine grows straight and dense - I wouldn't like curvy, I don't think - it'd just bug me every time their was a strong wind or I turned my head.
