Yeah . . . it definitely won't, but it would certainly improve the game, knowing that there is some sort of resolution, before the next game.  I wish Shepard could have more of a chance to explain herself . . . . or even allow Kaidan/Ash have more time to process the situation + the Shepard they knew, etc. . . . 

If only Shepard would say something useful or do something useful.
Let him make his report.  But make him sit down and talk afterwards.  The things going on for her can't be encompassed by a 3 minute conversation.
I know there's the whole retcon we use that Shepard doesn't want to further entangle him in what's going down.  But if that were true, there wouldn't be the option to ask him to come with you, right?  And he's not some breakeable object we have to keep safe from harm.

Yeah, my big concern about ME2 going to PS3 is that, with Liara getting her own DLC, now those players who never got the chance to play ME1 will be well enough acquainted with her, but will only know Ashley/Kaidan as that person on Horizon who yelled at them.

Heck, if all I knew about Kaidan was the Horizon scene, I wouldn't want him on my team in the next game, and I wouldn't care about romancing him.  What's the incentive to make the Virmire Survivor a squadmate in ME3, if they're already not as popular with those who knew them from ME1, and those who played only ME2 *really* dislike them???

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I think DLC for Kaidan/Ashley is necessary.  Even if we don't get romantic content, they need to fix the character assassination they did on them before ME3 comes out.

Yeah.  I was thinking about that last night.  I know there's that snippet of Kaidan/Ash in the destruction of the Normandy, but since you don't know who they are, for new players it likely wouldn't mean much.
But what a way to be introduced to Kaidan!  "Who's this jerk that yells at you for no reason?"
I think that's a good point, Teen.  You should put that up in the DLC thread if you haven't already.

i think it's necessary as well. some gamers played me2 then me1 or did not purchase the first installment at all. ash and kaidan were essentially meaningless to them. i imagine the scene on horizon had little impact. a story-driven dlc prominently featuring those particular characters could stifle lingering ill will toward them.

So, they announced that Morrigan's DLC is coming out on the same day as the Liara DLC. I was wondering which one I would download and play first, but then I realized that I'm still grasping at a tiny spark of hope that there is some mention of Kaidan/Ashley in Liara's DLC. So I HAVE to play that as soon as possible.



Sigh. I know I'm going to be disappointed, but I can't help myself...

@ Brod A Simple don't worry they will be in ME3 and you will be able to recruit them would also go a very long way to placate fears...

This happened to me!  I knew there was not supposed to be a same sex relationship in KOTOR, but then I could've sworn Juhani was hitting on me!  I looked, but could not find any confirmation online.  I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought there was something going on there.

Back to Kaidan, I suppose some people may not have gotten the "am I reading you right?" conversation from him, but it does still baffle me that they didn't see the romance coming.    Oh man, that's my favorite conversation with him and I cannot remember the lines!

There wasn't anything subtle about the Juhani thing.  It was flat out asking if wanted a relationship.  I liked the character, so I had talked to her a lot.  I liked bringing her on missions.  Heck, she was a friggin cat!  I love cats!  But getting hit on in the process of trying to get the Carth romance fix mod working (which I never could) took me by surprise.

Hey gals and guys. I doubt if any of you remember me, I've been gone a LONG time, been through a lot the last 8 months. I haven't gotten any of the DLC for ME2 except for what came out right at launch. I played ME2 once, hated it and haven't picked up the controller since. However I think a big part of my dislike with the game is that it really disappointed me at a time when I really needed a powerful distraction (thank god for Dragon Age). So I think I'll pick it back up when the Liara DLC comes out and give it another chance. I just wanted to remind everyone (since I've been off-grid for the past 5 months) that we were assured a big part for the VS. We were told that they were going to have the traditional 3-part story arc and that the writers loved the characters as much as we did. So I can't give up hope! Besides after what they did to Carth in KOTOR2, and loosing my sister/best friend 5 months ago, the universe owes me dammit!!



And a big heartfelt thank-you to all of the wonderful writers in this group. Shenko fan-fic provided a much-needed warmth over the months, and I can't thank you enough.



P.S. Since I haven't been in-the-know on ME2, which current DLC do you guys recommend?

Personally, I don't recommend any dlc except maybe for the Kasumi one (sexy black dress and new gal pal ftw). Overlord was okay but it was much less story and there were long hammerhead sequences.

Ah, you were modding for a m/m relationship with Carth, yes?  I thought you were talking about a female Revan...  Juhani is not openly asking, but she certainly flirts if you are friendly throughout the game with her (if you are female).

As for my husband going as Kaidan for Halloween, he may not be a perfectly convincing replica of Kaidan, but he will be MY Kaidan.    He sure was hot as Han Solo a couple years ago!    I just don't know if I'll be able to pull off the costumes...  Anyone know of any ME costuming sites?  PM me, please!

I also recommend Kasumi!  I have Overlord & Firewalker but have not completed them yet.  I like Zaeed's (I know lots of people dislike him), but it was free, so yay!  Kasumi's mission was cute (the only AWWW! romance story in ME2 IMO), but I just really like her personality.  She is my femShep's new best pal (Poor Tali is sad!)

Back on topic, Kaidan DLC will be the best, of course (whenever it shows up - I will not give up hope)!
