@alenko - a kaidan print is a good idea as well.

@brodyaha - what was your shirt concept?

It was for a realistic-looking, glowing biotic heart that says, "You make me feel human."

That is cool.

If "nobody likes Kaidan anyways" I guess we are all a bunch of nobody's, eh?  Posted Image

Thank you!   :D

I certianly hope if BioWare developed a Tali shirt with her face on it, and are developing a Garrus one, they should have no problem making a shirt that at least references Kaidan.
I hope they at least give me Kaidan and Ashley figurines.  They'd go beside Garrus, Legion, and Mordin-- all my favourite squadmates!

I really like stuff that quotes and references the video games. Now I'm not into face tees or, "I love _____" tees.  Or something with Kaidan's face on it, similar to the Tali tee.

Maybe this is because I'm going into teaching. I'd personally feel uncomfortable wearing a shirt that says, "I love Alistair/Zevran." And with a Kaidan or Ashley tee, kids might ask,  "whose that?"  "A character in a video game." They'd go home and google, and kids might tell their parents, "Miss K was wearing a shirt that says she loves a character you can date in a video game!"

The only exception I make is for a Blasto shirt. Because a gun-slinging jellyfish is unexpected and awesome.

You guys feel the same way? Kudos to anyone who can wear those shirts.

yeah.  Tali and Garrus

I can't wear tee's to work.  But I like things that are a little more subtle sometimes, too.  I like my plain N& shirt for that reason.

Well, I played Horizon again--hey!  I even got it to save right after the battle and right before the cinematic so I don't have to go through that every time I want to fight with Kaidan.
In the first dialogue choice I like the "You sound angry" choice much better than the paragon one.  "Been a long time, Howvya been" just makes me cringe.  And I've stopped using the "didn't want to hurt you" one, too, since I just don't think my Shep would have even been thinking about how it would rip him apart to see her again.  Its only been a couple of weeks to her.  I like that much better and it feels less frustrating.
Then Kara went down to Chakwas, got drunk there, headed to Kasumi's and drank until EDI had to direct her to the women's restroom, then repeated it.  Then onto  the Citadel to dance with Garru (well, he stood there, she danced) and drink until she passed out.  I"m going to let her sleep it off for the night.  Posted Image

i'm with you, bro. i would not wear a shirt with a face or name on it.

i do wear my n7 hoodie all the time and have yet for anyone to notice or ask me about it. apparently, where i live, i am the only person playing mass effect and possibly the only woman playing video games. ><

On the "women playing VG's" front, I found a new podcast today called Final Score.  Its a female gamer podcast.  I'll have to let you all know what I think when I've listened to their ME2 cast.

clearly i frequent the wrong places. i had a teenage boy give me a weird look once. that is all.

and since that is off topic, i am quite curious if there will be any hint as to kaidan/ashley stuff in a liara DLC. would that be too much to hope? sigh. probably.

apparently the only characters in the game besides Shepard are Tali and Garrus whom I'm actually starting to hate if only because  of over exposure.

Where's the damn Kaidan!

There's obviously characters we all dislike. Sorry to Tali fans, but I think she's too much of a Mary Sue. She's the equivalent of a quarian princess (dad was on the Admiralty Board), she's a very skilled tech and super smart (Engineer Adams says in ME1 that she'd know more about the Normandy's engines than him in a month), she's "poor me," about the geth, she has to join the mission because of the valuable intel she gives on Saren, and all she told me in ME2 after her loyalty mission was that she had to fix the engines. But she didn't help me in battle anyway.

I liked Garrus.  His voice acting is some of the best in the game, the romance is sweet, and he develops a lot of character growth through ME1 and ME2.  He's flawed, not a Mary Sue, but a man broken down by the world he is trying to make right.  And he's one of my best squadmates.

To turn it back to Kaidan, maybe that's why I like him so much--because of his flaws (and Sbarge's voice acting). He has this sad history, he can't speak directly to save himself, and he's only, "poor me," once, which is tied in to his advice to help Shepard. And behind that sad face he has a lot of firepower in battle.

I want my Garrus and Kaidan team back for ME3!

That's honestly the first time I've ever heard Tali being called a Mary Sue. I have to say, none of the squad mates in both games struck me as Mary Sues. They all have flaws. They've all made errors. That's what makes them interesting. Of course, it's all opinion. It doesn't seem like you paid attention to the character, Brodyaha, but all the same.

I admit that her loyalty mission is one of the best of ME2.
Maybe on my next ME1 playthrough, she and Wrex can team up.  Obviously a lot of people like her for a reason, but I haven't seen it.
I gave Ashley a second chance, and now she's almost up there with Garrus and Kaidan.

I'll certainly give her a second chance.
I did with Ashley, and now she's almost up there with Garrus and Kaidan.

Kaidan becomes more and more interesting with each playthrough. I think I can speak for this thread when I say that with every playthrough, we often find out more things about Kaidan, every subtle hint, new bits of subtext. We see his flaws more clearly, as well as his strengths. A lot of people dismiss Kaidan out of hand, without giving him a chance.

But if we give these characters a chance, we'll start to see things that we didn't pick up the first time. Kaidan's line about Shepard making him feel human, for example, didn't resonate with me until further playthroughs. I realized that this likely had something to do with his tendency to surpress emotion and become reserved, as well as the strict training of Brain Camp which had denied him many of the freedoms that others enjoyed. He didn't get the chance to be human.  Something as profound was what Kaidan says isn't just pulled from the air. A lot of thought went into that line. I wouldn't have gotten this if I had simply took one look at Kaidan, said he's just a regular dude, and simply moved on.

i agree with you collider - i find something in all the characters to like - even jacob. my only issue with them is how femshep's lines to him come out. but i do like all the characters. they are all fantastic.

that doesn't mean i want to romance them all, nor, i confess, does it keep me from being grumpy when it seems that love heaped on some characters (tali and garrus, most notably) keeps love from being shown to others (ash and kaidan, most notably). but truly, i like them all.

but i like kaidan bestest, of course.

@brodyaha - i demand your idea be a shirt. let's make it happen.

@t-shirt design - i have no shame and will wear anything. my wardrobe mainly consists of jeans and t-shirts anyway so having kaidan's face plastered all over one would not be that different from what i put on now. although i'm not sure i'd want bioware choosing the final design. their ladies apparel section is sparse.

@characters - kaidan is hands down my favorite. however, i do not dislike anyone. i appreciate their flaws and faults. that's what is interesting about them. there are a couple i'm meh about but i have not been able to articulate why. the multiple playthroughs definitely endear the entire crew to me in one way or another.

BioWare's new apparel

The shirt ideas have definitely been inspiring, because I suggested to Norman about having the DAII dragon charcoal shirt in a women's size, and the "Enkindle this!" T-shirt in my suggestions to Ms. Norman. Obviously, she won't listen solely to one person. However, others must've requested these shirts too, because they were made. But what if I and all those other people decided, "Pffft! I'm not going to ask, because it there's no point!" Then maybe there would've been no requests.

If BioWare can put Tali, Garrus and Blasto the Hanar Spectre onto shirts, and people are willing to wear shirts of a quarian, a reptilian/cat/bird alien creature, and a giant jellyfish with guns, then a shirt referencing Kaidan should be reasonable request (and in my opinion, a lot more...normal?)

And if we're vocal enough, DLC will be made. And if we get the thread even larger, than Kaidan will have a larger role in ME3.

I must admit I'm a little torn on a VS DLC vs. an epic ME3 role. I mainly want ash/kaidan back as epicly awesome character - and i would want them to be awesome more than to get them right away. to that end, i think our friends over on the ashley thread are terrific allies in the effort to make sure the VS is remembered and returned to us.
