incidentally, i am sitting here with ME2 in the background, completely unable to make up my mind about the stupid geth. dur. should just make a decision and go with it. metagaming at work

This doctor is nothing to be worried about. It was a casual date for drinks. It was nothing serious. Nothing serious for Kaidan = no sex, no deep talks about love, etc.

If it helps: I rewrote them, for if I change my mind later I can always destroy them (or if they are truly sentient in some way, they can change their minds back if they so choose).  I can't destroy them, then rewrite them.  ... I mean, I guess I can, but it wouldn't work nearly as well.

I can't remember who wrote it, but there was a fanfiction a while back that talked about this "doctor," and SPOILERS
in the end he had liked to Shepard in the email
that he was really seeing a psychiatrist.

re: doctor - i do not take it as serious. i truly think he mentioned it and then was like, "huh - why'd i bring that up?" not unlike rahna, i think. after all, he was going out "to have a life again" - even his dating is in relation to shepard and getting over her. not healthy, that.

re: geth. i blew them. i'm going to get dinner and think that one over. but gut instinct is to blow them up. i'm such a hardcore paragon most of the time, too. but kyrie (and i) believe strongly in choices. 

i wish bioware hadn't made that a paragon/renegade choice. should have been a right/left slider, i think.

I chose to rewrite them. I figured that with the choices that my shepard has made she's building up allies for the war against the Reapers (saved rachni queen, argued with the Quarians against war, made friends with the Krogan/Wrex, etc). She hopes to have the Alliance/Citadel as allies again. Perhaps she'll be able to get some help from Cerberus if needed despite blowing the base to hell. If she also has the geth and geth goodwill on her side that's another set of allies. The galaxy needs all of the help that it can get.

it's a moral predicament.  however, i choose to destroy them.

I waffle on my geth decision but most of the time I blow them up. I just don't trust them not to turn evil again or corrupt the normal geth. Also, after getting to know Legion, I no longer do the geth incursion missions in ME1. I felt bad killing geth who were hanging out listening to Quarian music. I honestly don't know what Kaidan would've advised me to do but I do wish he had been there to offer some at least.

@Quaay: Part of the problem is that we don't know what changes Kaidan has had in the intervening 2 years, too. Kaidan of old? Considering that he didn't quite feel comfortable with letting the queen go, I'd guess that he would probably opt to destroy the geth heretics as well.

But he and I didn't hold the same opinion on the rachni issue either.

I choose to rewrite the heretics in hopes that the memories/data they've gathered during their time with Sovereign might come in handy. But this is actually one of these choices I expect to come back and bite me in the ass in ME3.

It's really not about Paragon/Renegade, but rather if you're willing to take the risk.

and edit: yeah, i saved the hostages in bringing down the sky, which my hubby was like , but i think i'm going with blowing the base, which is what he did. just...yeah. kyrie is now a paragrade.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to get recognized if you sit there and do your job quietly while everyone else is jumping up and down and yelling about their extreme issues.
