(I like that armor, and judging by the amount of pictures with Kaidan in it, should I surmise others do too?)

One thing that bothered me about Horizon: Kaidan was using his gun to shoot at the Collector Swarms. Why wasn't he using his biotics? That would've been cool.

And if he had to use a gun, why use the gun he is not proficient in? <_<
I'm not overly fond of that armor, but I'll take it since it has Kaidan in it. And for ME2, it is that or Phoenix.

Kaidan was a copy of Ashley on Horizon. BioWare didn't bother trying to make him have unique dialogue or use his biotics.Brodyaha wrote...

BTW, since I'm here, I want to say that I'm going to make my Main Fem!Shep romance Kaidan. I think he'll be a good love interest for her.

Morning everyone....
I was wondering, too, that he did not use any of his biotic... maybe it's because of Ash....since she is the other VS ...and the devs just did not care to use different options for them ...but that's just guessing...

How do you think Kaidan compares to the other biotics in the Mass Effect squads? We've talked about Jack before, but what about Wrex, Liara, Jacob, Miranda, Thane, and Samara?
For Kaidan and Jack, strong biotics are part of their characters. Jacob and Miranda don't seem to have that strong a connection to their powers - Miranda almost does, but only on account of her being built 'perfect' (but her biotiics don't seem to have been 'created' in the same way Kaidan and Jack's were). I'd say the same for Thane, only because his being a biotic... never came up for me.
If Kaidan's on par with an asari commando, then he and Liara are probably in the same league (she isn't a commando, but I doubt she hasn't been practiced seeing who her mother is). He might be slightly ahead, since she's still quite young and hasn't necessarily been entirely focused on biotics. (ME2 Liara may be a different story). Although if you compared their stats potential, Liara might edge out ahead since she's the "adept" of the party.
Wrex is hard to call - he's had a long time to practice, but he's also got the brute krogan strength thing going on. He doesn't really need his biotics, but I'm sure he knows how to use them.
Samara is probably the most powerful. Morinth may come in second... or she could be more powerful, if she ate enough souls.

you know, at the end of this ME2 playthrough, i found another reason to stay faithful to kaidan - in addition to the obvious, of course. being hit on by mordin was far better than any me2 romance IMO.
Hahaha this. Ah Mordin was extra hilarious during that bit. I couldn't stop laughing. And i agree Mordin hitting on you was better than any ME2 romance:D

Of course, I prefer him out of the armor

Much better, that is why I play ME2 as a Sentinel. Plus Shepard's recharge times are 1/2 of the squadmates; therefore you get to use them twice as often! The ME2 Sentinel is Miranda + Thane and if you take the AR Samara; Throw + Warp (I love Heavy Warp!!) plus Tech Armor and you are unbeatable.Collider wrote...

I love the tech armor in ME2. Kara is a Sentinel (Kimbri was an Adept).JockBuster wrote...

And my mShep when I finally get to ME2 (struggling to play through ME1 as a guy) will be a Sentinel as well.
I was listening to an old girl gamers' podcast about ME2. The one gal really liked that you could play as a b.a. female character. But when discussing the relationship part of the game (I think she only to as far as Jacob) she said how incongruous her behavior was when Shepard was trying to "hook up."
LOL. It wasn't just us who found that off-putting!

It's interesting to watch since I never talked to Kelly about Horizon.. Out of everyone they could have let Shepard talk about it, why did it have to be Kelly?

I just played that part, and I'm still upset with Garrus for blowing me off about calibrations when I wanted to get some sympathy from the guy or even just friendly talk. Part of why I've never romanced the character. He should have been there for her.

You can't "get friendly" without being more or less railroaded into a romance or you get barely any dialogue at all - the friendship you could have with Ash in ME1 is such a glaring contrast to that, I think.
Also, I've seen that if you romance Garrus, or Tali for that matter, they don't even make any reference to Kaidan or Ash if you've been involved with them. I just found it a bit strange, especially since you could take Garrus to Horizon.
And I agree, Chakwas could have been a great choice; she told you about that little episode with Jenkins and Kaidan if you get her that bottle of brandy and I would have loved more of that.

The problem is also in ME1. You can't be friends with Kaidan if you aren't a femshep and romancing him. BW left out a lot of the friendship dialogue in both games, IMHO.
