But they are SO different!

Yea. They are supposed to be foils for one another. Making them the same character or prioritizing one over the other is a big no no.

I bought a used copy of the ME2 guide yesterday at my local mom & pop game store.  I was shocked to find that they pretty much exclusively use femShep in all of the pictures in it.  And who did they show on Horizon?  KAIDAN!  Posted Image

EDIT:  Need a photo

Whose guide was this? I'd be shocked if it was officially BW.

*runs upstairs to get it*
Its the Prima Official Game Guide
and at the bottom it has the BioWare and EA logos.  It says "Prima is an authorized Electronic Arts licensee"
-Its the game guide that's like at all of the game stores.  I just saw it at the local store that I love for $10 and snapped it up.

EDIT:  ah.  It was written by Catherine Browne.  So that's likely why.  But I"m just surprised that BW allowed it to be femShep centered rather than Sheploo

Well, the Garrus thread found Christina Norman's twitter about it.  Let me go see if I can dig it up.  ETA:  Here.  Which kinda indicates there may be repercussions for romancing the VS, too, not just the ME2 LIs.  It doesn't say "cheating" it says, "romancing someone else."

It was a reply directly to someone so I wonder if they asked a question about "Hey what if I move on from Liara?" I don't think it means that every Shepard is screwed if they didn't romance Liara at all.

And what happens if you did NOT romance Liara and COULD not romance Kaidan because you were a MaleShep? And yes I do have saves both ways (MaleShep/Liara & FemShep/RenegadeKaidan plus MORE than 10 where MaleShep ALWAYS saves Kaidan @ the bomb, THE most emotional part of either ME1 or ME2)! I'm not sure where BW is headed so I want my bases covered and hopefully Kaidan UNcovered while he serves UNDER me.

You know what? If you look at Kaidan in his armor and think about how thick the armor is, you can see that he's actually a pretty slim guy. Kind of interesting...

I wonder if they changed his body model in ME2? Ash's doesn't look different.

@JockBuster- It was a direct reply to someone who cheated on Liara. In that context, people that cheated on Liara have some explaining to do... everyone else is fine.

He was really HUNKY in ME1, more so that MaleShep, bigger biceps. BOTH had nice butts and tight waists! In ME2 BW saved resources by having only one model for both, all action/movement and dialogue was the same or very similar plus only for 2-3 minutes.

He's lost weight due to his mourning.
And I've noticed that as well.  He seems to be built thicker than my mShep in ME1.  But he seems to have a slimmer waist in ME2.

Hmmm...perhaps not?

I think it's the difference in armor tbh because the medium armor always adds considerable bulk. I always thought mShep looked puffy in Medium and Heavy armors and it seems that Kaidan's carrying on the legacy :P

I assume you mean the same model as Sheploo in ME2?  I haven't really played mShep yet in ME2 so I haven't noticed.  I did notice that his legs are still quite muscled (judging by the girth of the leg armor on Horizon).
But yes.  Kaidan's arms and chest were larger than Sheploo's in ME1.  I notice that every time they are in an elevator together.

Kaidan looks the same in med. armor as mShep does in ME1.

Thanks ... I did NOT cheat on either Liara or Kaidan (FemShep OR MaleShep). I DID do Jack (boy was THAT a quickie) once! Tali ONCE, kinna nice actually. Jacob ONCE just to see how BAD it really was, ICK, DRECK, barf. NEVER Miranda, she DIES every time! Never Thane nor Garrus, sex with some ugly alien? And never got Kelly to feed my fish, she talks too much.
Kaidan's armor is Medium, in ME1 he could only wear Light (Armax Predator L X or Colossus X), remember that he got promoted to COMMANDER after the SR1 is destroyed in ME2.

I think Kaidan wearing medium armor in ME2 could mean a slight shift in his skillset. Perhaps he's become more of a vanguard because his biotics have increased.

I'd be fine with him becoming a custom class that's more heavy on biotics than tech. It makes sense for his character.

I don't think it was a personal comment, JB.  Posted Image
But I would take from Norman's comment that likely it would be similar for Kaidan and Ashley LI's as well.

I plan on having 3 femSheps.  All will be faithful to Kaidan.  Later, when ME3 is around the corner, I'll try out Garrus and Thane.  But I'm preserving Kaidan's already cruddy metrics the best I can for now.
I have one mShep that will be faithful to Liara.  Perhaps I'll go back in a save game and not be to see the difference.

So Kaidan is in med armor on Horizon?  So he has lost weight, then.
I would tend to think that he developed his own class like the ME2 sqaddies had rather than changing his class completely.  I don't think I can see Kaidan as a vanguard.  He's too controlled and seems like a strategist instead.

That's what I was saying. He needs that extra armor because he's using his biotics more and is more out there in the front.

Well, he is a commander now.  So he'd take point on missions, right?  So he might need more armor for that.
I just can't see him as a vanguard.  But we know so little of what happened to him in those two years.  Posted Image

Hypochondriac?

The right and left hypochondriac regions are the upper right and left regions of the torso.  The Epigastric is the lower center region of the torso.

Look at the number pad on your keyboard and think of it as a human torso.  7 and 9 are the right and left hypochondriac regions.  2 is the epigastric region.

Oh!  Okay.  Nick, um, its actually hypogastric.  Hypochondriac is when someone always thinks there's something medically wrong with themselves.  But they sound close.

Yoshib
I'm so jealous of the Liara fans getting this DLC. I am happy however that they took notice of them as they were as looked over as we were. Still jealous though.

When I feel lonesome for some Kaidan, I usually watch the first part of the meeting on a horizon, up to the hug and then turn it off. Which usually amounts to a minute. Ugh, so sad :(

Yeah.  I'm envious as well.  I hope we get DLC also.
I can't stop with just the beginning.  Its still Kaidan.  And I just think his animation is done brilliantly.  You can watch the whole spectrum/progression of what he's feeling.
His walking away is good and bad.  I hate that he's leaving.  But he sure looks good doing it!

Hypochondriac Region

I did make an error... I meant hypogastric instead of epigastric (think number 2 on the number pad).  The hypochondriac regions (which are actual medical terms... think 7 and 9 on the number pad) are regions of the torso that are above the lumbars and are on either side of the epigastric.

Huh. Had to look it up in my medical dictionary at home. Never a term we learned in anatomy classand its not a commonly used term. But some specialties use terms that aren't always used by others. Learn something new every day, right?

My opinion of earlier Kaidan pics?

He looks like he's lost weight between ME1 and ME2. Maybe because of the grief?

I guess we'll see in ME3 (or hopefully some DLC).
