I wonder how long after Liara's DLC we'd have to wait for a Kaidan/Ash DLC announcement. I kind of hope they don't go the same route they did with Liara's and announce it way too soon.

Eh.  I wouldn't mind if they announced it early and didn't follow up until the last minute.  At least that way we'd know we were getting something:huh:

Edit: 2223 isn't nearly as awesome as 2222, but have this Kaidan regardless:

Really looking forward to the Liara DLC on its own merits, but also because ME2 DLCs have just been getting better and better, so if LotSB is awesome then any Kaidan / Ashey DLC is going to be even awesomer. Huzzah! :-D

And very nice Kaidan, FireEye. I do like seeing him in the co-pilot's chair at the start of the game. :-)

@ sagequeen: in one of your earlier posted photos....is that Garrus wearing Phoenix Armor?!

And I thought it looked bad on Kaidan. *shudders*

@ est. - that's true, the DLC has been really excellent. never did pinnacle station from ME1, but all other missions were quite good. overlord surprised me. i didn't expect much, and was quite pleased

When Bioware said, in an interview I believe, that they would make DLC that expands relationships with characters, the video included a small clip of Ashley at the same time. Given that there's the Liara DLC and it allows you to continue the romance with her if you romanced her in ME1 (not to mention, this, it seems like there's a good chance we'll see Virmire Survivor DLC. If we don't, and only Liara gets DLC....

Sage: Pinnacle Station wasn't great, but then again it wasn't developed by Bioware (IIRC) and was intended to have virtually no plot. Otherwise, I have been very pleased with DLC from ME1 & 2. Re. Ash / Kai DLC, there is such a profound need for resolution after Horizon and the email that I dreamed about it for two nights running during my first playthrough of ME2. The devs can't be unaware of our feelings. I mean, they're the ones who put us through it. It can only be because they're setting up something special... I hope!

Collider: I can finish that last sentence.

"Have you ever faced a horde of rabid fangirls before? Few developers have." And it wouldn't just be fangirls, either, because team Ashley would be right there with us.

Well, the DLC pattern seems to be:
inexpensive DLC, inexpensive DLC, expensive DLC, inexpensive, inexpensive, expensive.

inexpensive=
expensive = >500 MS points, usually a new character, or a mission that takes a few hours.

so, I think if there's going to be VS DLC, we'll be seeing new armor and weapons first.

I'm rather surprised at how fast Liara's DLC came out--only slightly more than a month after the announcement.  The last expensive DLC was Overlord, which was released in June.  Rather close to Kasumi's release date.  But I still think if BioWare has VS DLC in the works, and it truely is the next expensive DLC, we'll be seeing it a couple months and a few armor/weapons packs later.  If we're lucky.

I have yet to buy armor/weapons. Now, if they made an N7 hoodie for shep to wear as casual gear, I'm so there. Or, you know, anything that's NOT got a cerberus logo on it. I've tried to mod it off, but no luck.

Unless they include new armor and weapons in the V.S. dlc! Just think, some standard Earth-origin, human made weapons again. Not too many of that in ME2. I don;t see what the point of releasing even more armor and weapons would be. . . .

I didn't think I would be buying SB DLC, but I'm excited now, and I'm actually trying to get through a Liara romance.
Half of me is interested in getting to know her character more, and to know what happens to the Shadow Broker. The other half is because it looks like a great, story-run DLC. If BW put out VS DLC, it might pique others curiosity and introduce them to the awesomeness of Ashley and Kaidan.

Half of me is buying it because: BW stated in an interview that they would continue to develop DLC based on successful it was with fans. I'm hoping by purchasing Liara's DLC, it'll make BW keep developing, which will hopefully lead to one with Ashley and Kaidan and focus on their character development.

I haven't and don't plan on buying armor and weapons packs. IMO that is stuff that should have been included in the game and I shouldn't have to pay for the best weapons in the game.

I do see the likelihood of a VS dlc but I'm not going to hold my breath because ME2 has been a continual letdown for me.

I did buy the laser weapons pack. Meh. Wouldn't recommend it. And I haven't bought any other armor or anything. I like the Blood Dragon armor for Kara.

I've never bought weapons/armor packs either but I thought the alternate appearance packs were a good idea...until they put sunglasses on everyone. I facepalmed at that. Helmet toggle and stupid sunglasses toggle please. Maybe we'll see appearance pack 2 next and then Kaidan/Ash DLC? I just wish they'd say it's in the works at least.

I would... the mattock is a beast and the laser pistol is good for for taking out scions at a safe distance (on harder difficulties).  I don't much care for the Geth shotgun... but I like the pistol and assault rifle.

I like the default armor on femshep. I was not a fan of the particle beam because it felt out of place on Shep. I also mod heavy weapons off my characters because I like how it looks... yeah I choose weapons and armor based on how it looks compared to how effective it is.

Anyhow.

I was wondering if they were planning VS DLC, if they would be angling for a Christmas release.  Although they probably have something else planned for Christmas (companies like the Holiday Rush, after all)... it was a nice thought before I got cynical.

If there is a VS DLC then it is already in the works. I would say it would be a november release if they did. Then they would wait until a couple months after the PS3 version is released before they started releasing DLC again. Yep... I'm going to blame it on the PS3 version.

I finally got Xbox Live and downloaded my Cerberus Network stuff.  It's okay, but I'm glad I got it for free.  I would've gotten the Blood Dragon Armor if I hadn't had trouble with account set-up a month ago, raged, and thrown away an already-expired code....<_<  If they release that for a reasonable amount of points, that's about the only armor pack I would buy.

I don't want to be spending $80 on DLC, especially if my Xbox gets the RROD.  So I've gotten Kasumi's DLC after looking over comments and getting recommendations.  Overlord looks cool too, and I heard it's good, but after finishing Revelation and Retribution while camping this weekend and trying to fix the Rogue AI on Luna (ME1) just now, I'm tired of reading/fixing people's messed-up experiments.  I will definitely get SB DLC, if just to tell BW that high-quality, slightly-more expensive DLC is worth my money, especially if it includes Ashley or Kaidan (it's equivalent in price to a movie, is (hopefully) just as long, and can be replayed over and over again....it's worth it)..  Appearance packs...meh.  We'll see.  I'd rather it be included in a more expensive DLC.  It would need to be something absolutely awesome for me to buy.

Sorry that's a bit off topic.

@Nick--you're right, they may hold off DLC until after the PS3 release.  Maybe BioWare senses that some fans will be mad at all the potentially awesome extras PS3 fans will receive, see how much demand there is for the PS3 features, and then release those as DLC.  Or, they might release a GOTY Xbox version with all the DLC...if that happens, I will be mad.  <_<

oh wait... <_<

unfortunately, i sort of need it to get past the praetorian on the hardcore difficulty and above. so, demmed if i do...

i can just imagine kaidan...

Kaidan: Commander, you smell so... WTF? What is that rock strapped to your back?
Shepard: Oh, you like? It's a gun I picked up off of a Collector.
Kaidan: Ah...do you know how to shoot it?
Shepard: Well, despite having never encountered such a weapon before, it does have something that looked like a trigger and so I tried not to hit Garrus as I aimed it. It worked very well. I like it.
Kaidan: Wow. You haven't changed much after all. Perhaps I was wrong about you having changed over the years. I shall now re-think my accusations that you betrayed the Alliance and listen to your full story before making any judgment about why you're with Cerberus.

^ mm....missing a certain *something* don't you think?

But the network keeps track of what you have paid for.  It can always be downloaded again.
Overlord I liked--despite having to fly the damn shuttle POS.  I thought it had a good story, but it was a very peripheral story.  I look forward to one that actually will contribute more to the overall story.
I liked how you got the new dress with Kasumi's DLC.  I hope the ME1 character DLC will have that.  Come on N7 hoodie!

@Nick.  Well, its good to know that my purchase won't necessarily go to waste--that the laser gun will be more useful when I get to harder difficulties.  I am getting the hang of it and seem to get headshots better with it.  But its certainly not essential.

@ nick: so I am. or rather, so kyrie is. but that praetorian hurts me. ("This hurts you...")

@ Bro: replied to the Shep-char development thread, but going to make this point here, too:

I've mentioned before that I think ME1 reads like a novel and ME2 like a collection of short stories. I think part of what is so weird about Horizon is that as a short story, it just sort of...ends. It's like you get to the end of the Horizon short story, which is a good, heartbreaking short story - and then...nothing. You can't follow up with the people you want to talk to, you can't do much at all. You get this tiny chapter of Shep getting an email and staring at a picture OR you start a new short story with a new LI.

I hope a VS DLC would be a good short story to echo the one that was Horizon. I think a lot of it is that the "inbetween" parts of the short story collection that is ME2 - the time on the ship - is a bit strained. in ME1, chatting with the crew developed alongside the ME1 novel-line linear narrative. ME2 below-decks banter can be hilarious - kasumi and mordin come to mind - but other times it's jsut a little odd. lots of easter eggs, but no real linear story or character development. or a lot of stopping in to feed my fish, but choppy sense of the crew growing as a team. very odd that.

anyhow, i hope a VS DLC would let shep star as a character again, with the VS by his/her side - as a friend or lover
