Hudson was the same guy who said that everyone loved planet scanning. Although some of what he says scares me, it's best to take it with a grain of salt, IMO.

I know that Hudson has let us down so far with Kaidan... but I'll think he'll eventually come around. I mean, he can't ignore our complaints for a DLC forever. Also, add this Forever Faithful banner to your sig to show your support for Mass Effect 1 love interests.

Hehe, I love Indigo's new banner, I just need to figure out a way to fit other stuff in my sig along with it.

As for Casey Hudson's remarks, I have been pretty disgusted by the attitude that statistics should dictate future decisions about the games Bioware makes.  Of course they want to make money, but how can they continue to make a quality product if they're so obsessed with pandering to the lowest common denominator?  Why have great restaurants if McDonalds is most popular, right?  That mindset is just awful, and they should be ashamed to admit it to the public.

How can videogames be taken seriously if they never push the envelope or take chances on ideas that might not seem popular?

And to keep this on topic, let's close our eyes and think of happier times:

Because companies are out to get monnies. Catering to the most/more popular options will make a bigger chunk of people happy than the smaller demographic. Don't even know a thing about Mass Effect 3 itself, so I'm not too worried about whatever has been said.

well, this is a group project, though. i mean, if hudson is the guy in charge, he's going to need stats, numbers, etc. while i agree, that can be a little freaky for those of us who love the dialog/rpg parts of it, he's not the guy writing the dialog.
eh, i dunno, perhaps i'm being too optimistic. i take it that BW is well aware of the expectations they've built and they listen to their fans. that's really all i can reasonably ask.
so Liara tomorrow, huh? i am looking forward to it - more biotic powers, new stuff, and a hint of things to come? i'm all for it. :D
night all - oh, and have fun with liara, nick

MORRIGAN.
Morrigan too. But unfortunately I do not have xbox live and will have to read spoilers.

da:o vs. mass effect made me a sci-fi fan. that is very weird to me.

I couldn't make it through DA:O even once. I'm on my 6th PT of ME1.

Gwen Shepard is just *frustrated* at this point. If she knew some DLC was coming, she might cool down a bit...

ROFL!  And she'll be joined by a fleet of other FemSheps . . . .

I played ME1 about 30 times through and ME2 and DAO both twice.

I make transitions between which one is my favorite. I've been waving my Dragon Age flag for quite a many months.

I am looking forward to Shadow Broker tomorrow and will have to avoid this board until I finish it in case it gets too spoilery.  I almost wish I had a playthrough from ME1 where I romanced Liara just so I can see how they handle her romance.  Is it sad that I will get super happy if Liara just even mentions Kaidan, i.e. "Kaidan took your death pretty hard"?

I too will try and avoid the forums, because I heard that many trolls went on the forums and posted spoilers for ME2 soon  after it came out.
@ vintage--it's not sad at all.  I'm hoping that Liara mentions it too.  that alone would make the DLC worth buying.

I'll be getting my info about the dlc from the Ashley Kaidan and Liara group. They know me pretty well and would be able to tell me if it'd be worth a purchase. I'll try to pass non spoiler info along to you all so you can make an educated purchase if you want :)

It will probably be out 5:00 am eastern.  It is always out by the time I wake up in California.  This is for XBL.  PC is supposed to be out at 10:00 am Edmonton time.

Yeah, just a passing mention of Kaidan or Ashley in this DLC would make me a happy camper, as sad as it sounds. It would at least mean that the devs didn't completely forget about the Virmire Survivor after the game came out, since there has been no proof otherwise. Anything more than a brief mention would have me fainting like a old-timey lady, because my brain wouldn't be able to handle it.

I'll be eagerly reading spoilers tomorrow at work, most likely, before deciding whether to purchase the DLC when I get home.

Funny thing, I would have been far more excited about the Morrigan DLC in the first few months after Dragon Age came out, but somehow all the news about DA2 seems to have sucked any pleasure I get from DA:O away. Maybe it's feeling like none of my actions as a Grey Warden matter anymore, while with Mass Effect, I still am playing Shepard, and can hope for good stuff coming down the line for her. My Grey Warden's story ended forever as soon as I heard about the ending to Awakening, and realized that any happy ending I could imagine would be snuffed out by further DLC or expansions.

I'm really, really glad that the Mass Effect storyline has at least the hope of happiness for Shepard in the end.

Good morning Kaidanites. I've been absent from this thread for quite a while. Did I miss anything interesting? ;-)

Also, how are you all?

Because bioware releases it themselves while XBL is automated and likely sets it up the day before.

Same for me. Should there at least be some mention of Kaidan in the DLC (which imo there should be), I'll be parking myself in my favourite chair to do a ME marathon and then purchasing the new DLC (my first paid DLC lol) to make my ME2 experience more complete. If there's nothing for me to go bananas over, ME2 at least will keep collecting dust :P

And morning Baal, good to see you :)

*sneaks in from work*

Good Morning everybody who's around :)

I'm going to get the DLC...I like Liara...hey...she's a part of my femsheps old live and to get her back is a good thing...Okay, it's a little bit painful, too...I really would want to hear something about Kaidan...It's driving me crazy not to know a thing about what had happened after Horizon with him and my femshep is waiting for him...*sighs*...and we're already waiting for so long....

*goes back working*

Spoilers for the Liara DLC ahead:

You'll get new Archievements for the Liara DLC, one of them is called "Catching up" and the requirement is "Reminisce with Liara on the Normandy.". So it seems likely that she'll join you on the Normandy and maybe that "reminisce" includes something Kaidan related.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Or my assumption (can be a spoiler too, so recoloring the text): "Hey, Liara, remember how we rescued you on Therum? That was a wild ride."
*bitter laugh*
There are more than ten ways to avoid the topic of VS.

Oh gosh. I do not want to be here if that happens and there is no Kaidan or Ash mention. :?

I will be greatly amused if reminiscing involves only the person who died on Virmire.

... you know, amused in a dark way, but amused nonetheless.

(...I'm actually a little tempted by LotSB... but I don't know if I'm tempted enough to buy the thing, and the fact that I have to play through ME2 again first because I sure as heck ain't gonna play it before the suicide mission make me lazy and disinterested...)

I'll download it. Liara's nearly always been in my squad in ME1 after Virmire, but I'll be sorely disappointed if you can't speak with Liara about Kaidan.

It's released at 10am Edmonton time for PC players - that means waiting for another few hours.
