@Jade

Kaidan is my Sheploo's buddy... and not his LI. And I'm happy with it (and my blue rose of Illium).

And its nice having our token guy Kaidan fan.
But I just find RP'ing as a guy harder to get into.

Kglaser
This current playthrough is the only one I've done where Kaidan died on Virmire instead of Ash. And I didn't expect it, but I found myself feeling quite bad about it and missing him afterwards. :(

I always liked Kaidan, but didn't expect to miss him like that. (just being honest so please don't hit!!)

Plus, I was quite pleased with the great job he did on my team on Noveria.

You came and showed support for out favorite character.  We won't hit.  Posted Image
Welcome

Fort
I played ME1 about 30 times through and ME2 and DAO both twice.

Then you need to play ME2 more so your stats can be counted.  Posted Image

@ Baal:  Hey! Wondered where you disappeared to.  Welcome back Posted Image

@LotSB:  I'll be downloading it today.  I"m trying to decide if I'll wait to play with my mShep (have to finish ME1 and then get all the way through ME2) or if I'll have Kimbri play it first.  I suppose if I hear that the unthinkable happens and Kaidan actually is acknowledged, then Kimbri will definitely get to go first.  Posted Image

EDIT:
Norman twitter updates:
On the whole me2 stats thing, what I love about working at bioware is the time we put into the less played options.
if ME2 only let you play iconic male soldier we would hit the majority of players, but we work hard to provide other options.

Can I just say I'm glad that she's on twitter so that at least one of the devs can have an idea of what people think of the stupid sh-tuff Hudson says?

So "reminiscing on the Normandy" with Liara is where our interests lie. Hmm. I'm going to assume that it occurs at the end of the DLC (SOB...she's probably going to be going up to Shepard's cabin to talk!!!)

Glad that it will be obvious whether she will or won't talk about Kaidan and Ashley, considering my disappointment last time when a day after purchasing Kasumi, I found out she can talk about everything under the sun except Horizon (and yeah, I know she didn't know them from before, but she can actually BE at Horizon, and have no opinion about it. Yet she can comment on random crew members on the SR2. It blows.)

I, too, would be stoked if Liara mentioned Kaidan. ^_^ While playing ME1 I thought she had an innocent, sweet nature, but ME2 made me see her in a new light. I'm interested in seeing how her personality will be explored in LotSB.

Thinking about Liara's career path in ME2 makes me glad Kaidan never changed. It sucks that he leaves Shepard on Horizon, but at least he's still the same guy, with the same high ideals and committment to helping others. Well, that's what I tell myself after Horizon, anyway... it gives me a grain of comfort!

Aw...thanks for the post, Jade - i knew I liked that Christina Norman lady. Loved her in the gameplay videos.

Well, heck, I mean, the woman spent how much time building up the engineer class which hardly anyone plays if you go by "stats"? so, she must be very aware of how much the "other options" are loved and welcomed.

@ baal - hey! long time no see.

and @ LotSB - huh, still not up? ah well. lurk, lurk lurk...

Wow, so far those who have romanced Liara seem very happy with this DLC.  I'm happy for you guys...and we need to keep asking for the same for Kaidan and Ashley!

I just finished LotSB. I thought it was fun. So great visuals and fun fights. Good combination of combat and story.

However, In terms of VS info. Non. Nada. Zip. I didn't see anything on either of them. And There were PLENTY of opportunities. That really pissed me off. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone but if you play it you'll see why it's so disheartening that there was nothing. They better have something amazing planned for ME3.

Great. Posted Image Another DLC with no mention of Kaidan/Ash. I'm coming to expect a strongly worded e-mail for Shepard as this great integral role in ME3 Bioware was talking about. Or maybe they'll act as if they didn't exist. Because they are doing a damn fine job at it so far.

I feel like part of my Shepard is missing. I love figuring out who my character is, giving them a story, and playing that person throughout the game. For me, Kaidan was a big part of that, and his absence just constantly makes something feel like it's missing. I can keep making excuses in my head for it all but it feels like he never existed. No one even mentions him anymore. Side characters who are of no importance are getting more then he is.

You meet Conrad Verner again, drink a beer with Parasini, help out Shiala, chat with Helena Blake, get a message from the Rachni queen, talk to Nassana and get tons of messages from side characters with little purpose but you can't ask about Kaidan or meet up with him.

I really tried hard to not be disappointed if the DLC turned out like this because I truly like Liara, but I still am disappointed.

I'm not surprised at all at the lack of anything about the VS in it. Looks like I won't have to buy it then.

Exactly.  Ugh. I knew not to expect much going into this DLC but I'm still very sad and disappointed. Easily could've been done. Easily. But there is a chance that they can implement it later, there is one part where it says check back later for new stuff so maybe sometime soon they will throw us a bone? Yea, I know...I won't get my hopes up lol.

While I expected it, it's still disappointing. If anything Shepard should have asked about why Liara didn't go to Kaidan or Liara should have brought him up briefly, mention him at least :(
I'm happy the Liara fans got a DLC, but what little hope I have left remains by pure force of will. Bioware creates DLC for their target groups, the larger groups, so their resources are spend on pleasing as many fans as they can at once. Which to me also feels as if Kaidan and Ash aren't at the top of their list, since they got so much crap. Why spend money on a DLC a majority of your playerbase don't get excited about? I know they said they care as much about their characters as we do, but so far I'm not really feeling it.
It's sad that my Shepard is all alone and those she called her friends have no memories of the man who was her right  hand, her second in command and her lover. Would it really have been too much to ask to just refer to Kaidan in story driven DLC? Throw us a bone already.

Oh well, looking to the future and ME3 for Kaidan's "big role" ...this DLC stuff is disheartening.

Yep. Hope for a lot, expect nothing and be skeptical of everything. That's the way I've had to think about BW to protect myself from being upset.

Can't say I'm surprised by the fact that no-one mentions Kaidan in the dlc. The way things are going it wouldn't surprise me if Kaidan's so called big role in ME3 is to be in charge of the ship that rams the main reaper and helps Shepard defeat them, sacrificing himself to save her.

I know, Jho, I know. And now it's not just Tali and Garrus but Liara as well. I always have to remind myself that the characters aren't at fault but the writers.

Well, let's face it; everyone here got attached to the characters in the first game. It's like they're saying that we formed an improper attachment and now we have to pay for making the wrong choice. If you don't love all of the extremely popular characters, there's not a lot in the game or dlc for you to be motivated to purchase any more stuff.

I've had to personally distance myself from my memories of ME1 to protect myself from being extremely upset with BiowEAre but it took a while. That's probably why I haven't written much fic any more; it dredges up all the resentment that I feel toward the devs for essentially taking everything I loved about the first game and spitting on it. Now I simply shrug and say, "Well, I saw that coming."

If it continues like this, I'll just pretend ME2 never existed.

Series? What series? It all ended after Shep defeated the Sovereign and she and her lieutenant enjoyed their deserved shore leave.  Posted Image
