I loved the LotSB, but I'm a bit disappointed there was no Kaidan/Ashley dossier, it would have been a very small thing that would have made many people happy

Yeah, much like the Anderson and Hackett dossiers, it would have required no voice acting or even using their models, but could have been a little shout out to us fans, or at the very least, hysterically funny, like many of them were.  My favorites were Grunt's and Jack's, but Kasumi's had me laughing out loud...

Grunt and Legion had me laughing. I liked Garrus too, but it made me feel sorry for him. I was really surprised he had a sister.

@chignon - i'm still unsure how the love interests are of equal importance to bioware when you can address all romances save ash and kaidan's.  they're just your buds.

That's why I said that some are more equal than others. I honestly doubt that Bioware will change the way they are currently handling things with Ash and Kaidan. They already missed so many obvious opportunities to include them just like ME2 LIs and Liara have been - the Kasumi DLC stands out starkly here. And now they've done it again.

Yes, we got a mention of Kaidan but in what context? Oh yes, as a "friend" to my faithful FemShep and as the guy who turned his back on you on Horizon. Thanks for reminding us, Bioware, just in case we forgot.

And yet, I still hope for something.

That does suck that people had the opportunity to mention their LI to Liara and there wasn't that for the VS fans. I mean how awesome would this have been:

Shep: I'm worried. Nobody believes me and it's frustrating.
Liara: I heard about what Kaidan said on Horizon. I'm so sorry.
Shep: (dialog option, including an option to say Shep moved on) I still love him...
Liara: Oh, Shep *hug*

I honestly can't figure out where they're taking the VS romance. There is no evidence of a "friendship," unless it's in the context of a romantic one. He actually comes right out and says he loved Shepard. You don't tell a fling that they're once in a lifetime, or that they make you feel human. Unless it was all bull to get in her pants? In that case, the "loved" on Horizon is even more out of place. And turning it all into a lie to get into her pants is out of character as they wrote him up to then.

It's incredibly inconsistent and they're taking him from the best written romance to the worst written male character EVER.

Maybe they are indeed trying to retcon the Ash/Kaidan romance into being "friends with benefits" as fortunesque put it.

It seems to me that they only want a Shepard that has already "moved on", with no chance to express otherwise..

It's not him that's the problem with what was said in the dlc. There was something there between them. Again, I blame the writers for not coming up with some kind of admission on Shepard's part.

Does anyone have the dlc for pc? Perhaps someone could look at the audio files and see if there's anything else that may have been missed due to a bug.

^ This would have made me happy enough to get the SB dlc which I really don't want to get cause Liara is not one of my favourites.

I have to say I've totally lost all hope and faith in Bioware now.  They couldn't even write a few lines about Kaidan for a dossier, or add a few lines of dialogue.  Not to be content with stuffing up my ME LI, they then completely ignored Alistair in the Morrigan dlc.  Once again even the mention of his name would have made me happy, apart from the fact that its bugged to hell, and didn't answer any damn questions.Posted Image

I'll take a look at it. Though I doubt very much that it is a bug.

Yes! This! Why the hell it hurt them so much to write this kind of dialogue? I don't know, they want to keep specific image of Shepard? Or we're supposed to miss them like crazy so their comeback in ME3 will be more "awesome"? I hate marketing...

Honestly, I still don't understand that, and it takes every little hope (that we will be able to see Ash/Kaidan before ME3) away from me.

Also, I'm wondering why the LotSB DLC folder is named "DLC_EXP_Part01"

Is anyone else looking forward to a Kaidan/Ashley face/hair texture upgrade à la Liara? They both look conspicuously "low-res" these days to me. I wouldn't mind if both came with some alternate hairstyle options as well. That's assuming of course that VS is going to be in upcoming content, and not just written out completely. My hope is with the LotSB treatment of Liara, Kaidan and Ashley will get some developer love for DLC or ME3. Honestly, they are the natural choice for upcoming DLC, since the next one undoubtedly will be an even bigger bridge to ME3. Like LotSB, the VS can be a temporary squad mate, and he/she and Shepard can do some Important Plot Thing and rekindle their friendship/romance.

I'd like a texture upgrade if it enhanced. I will say that I like Kaidan's ME1 texture better than his ME2 texture... they really olded him out.

^I want it back to this^

Also, if they could define his hair texture better, that'd be super :3

I want to think positively that bioware will listen to everyones request for something concerning the VS being released. I just don't want to get my hopes up. Although I'm seeing people wanting a VS DLC in quite a few places, not just on this forum, though I know that doesn't count for much.

The more I read about what this DLC contains for ME2 LIs the more upset I get.

If you romanced Thane, you can read an intercepted love letter from him to Shepard in his dossier. I like Thane but I don't get this obvious favouritism of all LIs but Kaidan and Ash.

I don't think there is anything for people who romanced Garrus in the DLC though. Maybe I'm wrong?

Liara romance people get to tell Liara that they want little blue children too. That's really sweet.

I want that too. I want Shep to tell Kaidan that she wants a flock of babies.

You are. Liara and Shep can discuss Garrus.

Thane is dying. Nobody knows when he'll die, so him leaving behind a letter makes sense. No other LI has anything else written down.

It's not just about Thane. You can either talk about other LIs or they are at least acknowledged somewhere, Batteries.

Call me an optimist but I have faith that there is going to be a payoff in ME3 for the VS love story. I just played through Mass Effect 1 again for the second time and I don't see how they could ignore such a well developed love story from the first game. The LIs in 2 just don't hold a candle. Shep and Kaidan have so much more interaction than the ME2 LIs do. It is definitely not a roll in the hay or a friends with benefits kind of relationship and I hope Bioware doesn't try to paint it as such.

About Shepard never saying that she loves Kaidan, it's an interesting point. I still think that she was barely holding it together at Horizon. The woman's been through a tremendous amount of trauma (losing two years of her life and being "resurrected by the fiendish Cerberus organization). She just thought that she had lost the man she loved to the Collectors. Then when she finds out he survived the attack, he accuses her of betrayal and treason. It's just devastating. Shep is usually so articulate but that grace that she has with words just fails her at Horizon and it's telling. She's hurting. I do wish that she had had more dialog options.

The holo scene right before the suicide mission, for me, says everything that needs to be said as far as what she feels. She's heartbroken. She loves him.

I hope Bioware gives Shep the option to say so in 3. I really, really do. I guess my faith in Kaidan has spilled over a bit into my faith in Bioware. I do think that ultimately all of this torture is going to be worth it and there will be a reunion.

I agree Ariaya. I see no reason to be too pessimistic about things just yet. No one knows what exactly will happen and it's no use worrying over little things. I still have some faith that bioware will do them some justice.

my issue is you can discuss every romance option with liara save ash and kaidan. that's playing favorites. i understand this topic is of little or no importance to some of you and for that i apologize. however, as a fan of both these characters, i'm disheartened.

my femshep's with kaidan no matter what. staring at his picture will have to suffice until a writer lets her do otherwise.
