Quaay. You have my Shepard as your avatar.

*snip*

Almost. They could be twinnies :3

OMG! Twinsies for the win! I just have purple eyes instead to bring out the purplish in the lipstick, which they effed up in ME2. We have good taste. I have pics of my Shep on my phone and I show her to ppl all the time like "Isn't she hott?" They think I'm weird. I wish I could take better quality pics...thats with my phone cam pointed at the tv =/

I took a photo of my tv screen too. That's one of the only pics I have of her with green eyes since she goes renegade and gets the scars and stuff. It's incredibly hard to match red eyes with armor colors. Green is even harder

I wish there were an easier way to get screens from Xbox. Once I move into a new place, I am going to try to set up my camera and get some good ones from my HDTV.

This is why I love playing on the PC.  I recently upgraded my Photobucket account to Pro, just so I could upload all my Gwen Shepard ME2 screenshots (I'm now at around 1,000 images...), and delete them from my harddrive.  Being able to easily take screenshots, and use mods like gibbed's editor and texmod easily, are worth it.  Plus I really enjoy building my own PCs.

One thing I noticed when I was making that Kaidan Launcher was the lack of cool scenes of Kaidan in ME2.  There was no biotics in his cutscene, he was cross eyed while talking to Shepard, and the lighting sucked most of the time he was on screen.  DLC would be so worth it, even just to have better looking cutscenes to take screenshots from.

I'm managing a me1 play through right now where I'm not romancing Kaidan. But then I'm also playing as a male shep. So I think that helps a bit.

No, it really doesn't.  *sigh*

That reminds me...why shouldn't same sex romances be able to be initiated in the last game, if you are able to romance Kaidan for the first time in ME3? It really isn't established that he's not interested in Male Shep, maybe he's just too careful and reserved to even attempt to flirt with a man whose orientation isn't known.

I would FINALLY have a reason to play a dude in Mass Effect, if he could romance Kaidan!

I personally think this is the best way to implement same sex romances into Mass Effect. Just let M!Shepard romance Kaidan in the VS DLC. It's a bit unfortunate that S/S fans would have to buy DLC, but they get what they paid for.

I find the lack of same-sex romance to be one of the weirdest things about the ME universe. One would assume that in the future, sexual orientation would be less of an issue than it is now, given how much culture has come to change re: same-sex relationships in just the last 20 years or so. So give it 100+ years and there's no reason to believe that same-sex orientation would be much an issue anymore. Add in that you have the asari, a whole race who are "same sex" to start with, and it makes less sense. I see NO reason why Shepard couldn't be homosexual or bisexual for humans or non-asari aliens except that it's an imposed character decision Shep by the devs. It's truly bizarre.

I *like* that femshep is an empowered woman saving the galaxy. That makes the game SO awesome to me. I'm sure a lot of people would like Shep to be a strong, empowered person of whatever sexual orientation they so chose, not "must be straight because it's a shooter." It is just too weird. I am straight and I find hetero romance the most interesting to follow. If it was in the game, I don't know if I'd ever play a gay or bisexual character. But I find it jarring all the same to know that Shep *can't* be gay or bisexual. it does sort of ruin the illusion of full roleplay, just to know that choice isn't there.

edit: actually, i take it back. if i could, i think i'd play a renegon infiltrator and romance miri over garrus. i feel bad that miri got my stupid-head renegade maleshep

I will say that after DAO, I expected Thane to be an m/m option. I was surprised when they didn't have s/s in ME2. And then I read the interviews, facepalmed, and went on my way.

Really looking foward to VS DLC. Get to reunite with my bro Kaidan and maybe even see what he thinks of my Shepard's relationship with Tali. Awesome.

I have a question.
If Shepard is female and didn't romance Kaidan in ME1, should it be possible to romance Kaidan in the VS DLC? I heard it was possible to do this with Liara in her DLC.

I say yes since ME1 won't be on PS3 but ME2 and 3 will be.

Okay, yes, ME is set in the future. In their universe, sexuality probably doesn't bother ANYONE.

But the game was made in our time, in our universe. >_<

I facepalmed too, when I found out that Jack, Thane, Ash, Kaidan and Tali were all supposed to have been bi, but in the end weren't. ¬_¬

I dunno. I still don't think it's any excuse. If Jade Empire had s/s and DA:O does, there is no reason for ME not to. BW has shown they can do that in a way that doesn't set off the people who don't like s/s romances. heck, they hid the JE one well enough. i didn't even know about sky until i saw the forums. Though, it's weird, i remember thinking sky, kaidan, and ashley all struck me as bi, so clearly their characterization remained even if they were re-written in the case of kai/ash. garrus always struck me as straight only, thane, bi, miri, potentially bi, jack, bi.

and i'm off topic. I would love to see the VS be romanced, though i do think it would be reasonable that if you turned them down in ME1 they can't be romanced in a DLC or ME3.

I dunno, I reckon Garrus can have a mancrush on Shep. It's all possible. Personally, in an RPG, I'd like to be able to choose ANYONE to have a romance with. That would make it feel more RPG-ey... xD

And on topic: I agree, I think you should be able to romance them in a DLC or ME3.

Jack IS Bi. She dated a couple. She just decided she doesn't belong to the "girl's club" anymore.

It wouldn't change anything for me if Kaidan was bi, I don't want them to drastically alter the character for it, though.

Not sure if we can say for certain. Without going into any details, she didn't have to *do* anything with the woman. I can also see it as her experimenting.

@Sia, yeah, well, she's not romance-able for women, which kinda disqualifies her. Pisses me off! I wanna put my grabby hands all over her! >:o

Well, Kaidan was supposed to be bi in the beginning, and he still kinda strikes me as a guy who swings both way.

I don't know if they were [i]supposed[/] to be bi. After all, only Shepard has recoded lines for same sex romances. The romance intersets themselves don't. Kaidan calls M!Shpeard ma'am in his romance, for instance - meaning that there are no lines from Sbarge on the disk that are gay, etc.

Tali did have them, but they got scrapped. I don't know about the rest, but Thane had lines as well.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure none of the romance interests besides Liara had lines recorded for same sex romance. Only Shepard did.

No, you can find Tali's lines on youtube somewhere. They're practically the same. Thane had lines in French which was really freaky. O_O

I'm sure they do refer to her as being a girl. :/
