Hello all, newbie here. *waves* Firstly a Kaidan for you wonderful people >>



Then a question,
If Mass Effect 3 came out tomorrow (please? no? dang it..) and Kaidan was a romance-able squad mate (as he WILL be.  You listening to me Bioware?) what sort of love scene would you like for the 'night before the final battle, I guess its time to do the nasty' moment.  Hot and heavy like Miranda, emotional like Jack... whatever Jacob's deal was, (guh, please no... so creepy)  or sweet & awkward like Tali and Garrus were?

Personally I think i'd go for a slow emotional start and finish with a "Bang" ah la Miranda's scene.

Sexuallity doesn't really impact personality, though.  I mean, unless the writers really don't know what they're doing, nothing about him should change other than the courtship route being open to male Shepards.

Technically, he wouldn't even have to be attracted to men in general - he could simply fall in love with ManShep as an individual.  It's not that common, but it happens (and Shepard does have that charismatic quality that apparently even aliens of at least four species find attractive).  And if he were falling for a guy, didn't normally fall for guys, and was confused about it, that could explain retroactively why it wasn't in ME1.

1. After Horizon, Joker makes a comment that says he knows about Shepard and Kaidan "dating." How does he know that?

2. Does Ashley have a view on the Citadel convo, or is that strictly a Kaidan thing?



And to answer your question EchoLuv I say I would emotional, sweet, and a little bit awkward since it has been 2+ years.

Well, Kaidan was supposed to be bi in the beginning, and he still kinda strikes me as a guy who swings both way.

He did when I first played ME, but now I don't see it. But mebbe that's because I have become myopic in my Shepards. There is just one shep now for me, and in that world, kaidan is femshep's. 

re: a DLC/ME3 romantic moment. i want the DLC (if there is one) to have something that acknowledges horizon, so i'd take reconciliation convo over smex. for me3, as long as they stuck with the charcterization of kaidan and built up to it with storyline and dealing with horizon, i don't really care if there is much shown. that can get cheesy fast.

I didn't really like any of the ME2 love scenes.  I get that they're trying to make awesome body language, but it just feels awkward to me... Dunno, I guess I'd still prefer something closer to ME1 (good conversation, adequate groping).

Then again, they could also have Kaidan finally using his biotics in a cutscene for once... :innocent:

1. Joker was spying on them.  ... if you turn Kaidan down, you're still five minutes out from the Mu relay the moment he steps away, so yeah. 

Personally, I think he's the reason Cerberus knows, too.  <_<

Yeah... it just didn't look right.  Please Bioware... send an artist to go hang out at a gym to get abdominal shading right for our beloved Kaidan.

1. Surveillance cameras? Since the locker scene, I'm convinced he's spying on Shepard and Kaidan.
2. Yes, she does. I'm sure I saw it on youtube sometime ago. Yep, here it is.

Hi there, EchoLuv! I'd love to see Bioware find a good balance between light/flirty and emotional scenes in ME3.

Yes.  It involves a crack about a tinfoil skirt and thigh high boots, which inspired some spectacular fan-art by TZ.  (That's the SFW version.  If you're a dArt member, you can browse her gallery for the other version. )

And, if the VS romance in ME3 follows the same 'night before the big battle resolution' I will have to smack some BW devs around, cause they need a new roadmap.  Especially for the third part of a multi-game arc.  (I have hope from what I've heard of LotSB that they're up to doing something different though.)

Well, for the continuing romances, there's absolutely no need for the sexy-times to wait till just before the final battle.  If you're starting a new one in ME3... that's the only way it would make sense. 

Poor Rachel... she's got a long way to wait for Kaidan.

I don't think its Bioware that has a problem with homosexual relationships. Liara being an obvious example. And they certainly didn't shy away from it in Dragon Age with Leliana and Zevran.



In regards to Kaidan I'd like to think its just that they (Bioware) ran out of time, but my guess is that they came to realize that while RPG fans are more (likely to be) flexible about that sort of thing, then the hardcore shooter fan base would be.



In conclusion. I don't think Bioware will ever put a gay romance into Mass Effect. Apparently lesbians are okay but gay is over the top. Its not a new stereotype. But still annoying.

On the bright side, my sister (who is gay) was really happy with Liara and the DLC (the lucky B***h)

I think it's EA that has the issue with the marketability of s/s romances to the shooter crowd. It's really easy to play around it but some people just won't play a game that has m/m in it. -.-



But yeah, I hope Kaidan has some sweet and flirty type of interaction in any dlc/ME3. There's been too much heavy and not enough silly.

as long as it's NO jacob shirtless - type stuff. actually, i LOVED the liara's love scene was so restrained and subtle. watched it on youtube and i was jealous. and miri, much as i love her, could learn a thing or two from liara in terms of clothing

Okay.  I watched the female LI's scenes for the first time for ME2. And what the heck!?  Why do the female players get the lame scenes?
I liked Tali's, but Shepard isn't Tali and Shep and Kaidan are farther along in their relationship than that.  It wouldn't work.
I would say the passion of Miranda's (but not in the engine room.  what was that?) and also of the non-romance one with Jack; emotionality of Jack's in Shep's cabin; and sense of friendship between the characters that you get with ME1, rather than the hook-up feel you get with some of the ME2 characters.  Definitely Kaidan with his shirt off--with chest hair
Oh!  And Kaidan's biotic flare would be hot.
Its Kaidan.  I want it all--the best that BioWare can do.

I would love that.  Those type of moments with Carth is why I love KOTOR so much.  If we could get that in ME3 with Kaidan... *swoon*

I really don't care for imitating any of the ME2 female love interest scenes, when it comes to Shepard and Kaidan reuniting.  The malien scenes were very tame, and left a lot to the imagination (not even turian and drell chests, Bioware?  Come on!), but as a human love interest who is NOT Jacob, they can do a lot more, in making it sexy and sweet and meaningful all at the same.  At this point in the relationship, if Shepard and Kaidan are together again, they are definitely in love, and should act like it.

Sigh.  ME3 can't come fast enough.

I agree. The wait feels very long to me I only started playing ME in July. I can't imagine how you others feel. Even so I hope that the rumour floating around is true and they say something about the third one in October.

That's why I'm so ****** off with BW.
They MUST (and I don't say 'they should")...They MUST give us a DLC about Shep/Kaidan/Ashley.

We cannot wait till they release ME3, I would love to see more of Kaidan, he's one of my favourite characters on all ME universe (well, then liara, garrus, tali, joker, wrex, thane, grunt and legion (I find him funny º w º).
