Mass effect are pretty good for being bugless i think (maybe just in comparison to DA), so i would be surprised if anything went wrong with the continuity. Only bug i think i encountered in ME 1 was Kaidans sudden ballet dancing, but thats not a problem lol

Unfortunately i think this trilogy is one of these things that are so epic and so loved that no matter how they conclude it it wont be good enough. ( Probably because they dare to conclude it at all! >:( )

In ME2 there was also the bug with Conrad Verner not properly registering whether you had completed his quest in a Paragon or Renegade manner.  I would completely flip if such a bug happened with the game properly registering whether you romanced Kaidan and were faithful to him.  I would pester any dev necessary until we got a fix.

And good morning!  A Kaidan to fit the occasion:

Last night I had a dream in which Kaidan was killing zombies in a post-apocalyptic environment (Fallout?) to thrash metal music. At the end Kaidan and Ashley (Ashley in Colossus armor) stood side by side, with Kaidan carrying someone wounded (seemed to have been Shepard).

In Kara's playthrough, she was nice to Conrad, but didn't use a persusion option.  She told him he wasn't Spectre material and then he got killed in some sort of off-screen fight.

I'm working on LotSB with my mShep who romanced Liara.  I really like that in that middle dialogue/cut scene sequence, you can finally confront her about the relationship.  We sooooo need this with Kaidan.  Gosh.  At least to talk rationally with him.

I"m going to have to go back to ME1 again soon.  I miss Kaidan.

You should get to unlock some kind of Mass Effect achievement for that.

As long as we get to fix it and we don't get left hanging... it will be something...

But, it isn't looking very good for us....

Okay but you have fan fics you can read...about Kaidan... some of them are happy...

... that reminds me... are you writing Jo?  Image IPB

I hate waiting. Even now, while going through DA for the first time in over 6 months again, I can't keep thinking about how badly I want ME3 lol Alistair is a nice distraction but he just can't compare for me personally. My head is still in the ME universe and I feel way more attached to my Shepard than I do my Warden.
Maybe I should just replay ME1 and 2 again instead, but that doesn't make time go by any faster. Part of me will be sad once the ME vibe is over (unless ME3 is total punch in the stomach) but the other part of me really just wants a conclusion to the Shepard/Kaidan story so I can 'move on'. Ofcourse if the conclusion to their story/romance is horrible, I'll be raging for months afterwards no doubt lol

Umm... the answer is yes and no. I've been writing, but my muse abandoned my Tatooine chapter to jump about a dozen chapters ahead. So I have 3 chapters, about 12,500 words, dealing with sort of the climax of Andra and Carth's blossoming relationship (and I know where you gutter-minded people are going to go with that, but I promise you it's all completely T-rated. It actually involves a pretty intense verbal fight between them, and the "kiss and make up" part is limited to just that: a kiss.)

But I finished that a couple nights ago, and the Tatooine chapter is moving nicely once again. Got 1000 words so depending on how much I get done today, you may see it tomorrow or Tuesday.

The good news of all this work, though, Night is that when I get to the part I already have written, it's gonna be update city!

I couldn't agree more. Being a complete addict of ME and its universe, I tend to need my daily fix. And Med School doesn't help at that  I'm going to be devastated when ME3 will be released and done.
We need a plan to fastforward to the time when ME3 will be released, or a plan to make BioWare work faster.

Or you know, find alien artefact on Mars.

@ Jho... I am so there with you. ME 3 seems so far away. (The writing does help though) I am worried about getting punched in the stomach too with ME3... I am worried Kaidan will be left on the sidelines again... not a happy thought.

@ Jo...*claps hands and jumps up and down*... Yippee.... I am on vacation starting Tuesday... I can read.... If I can keep my muse quiet... anyone have something to slow mine down?

Kaidan is just too inspiring....

Waiting sucks, it wouldn't be so bad if there was some news, anything, I mean why couldn't they do a LotR thing and make all of the games and release them 1yr apart? Ok, so I know that would be totally impractical but I really really hate waiting!

I was also think about them changing Kaidan to make him more guy friendly and it really wouldn't make sense as most guys who hqte him will never take him through to he third game, or so they tell us, which means he should be written very much with folk like us in mind. A good or a bad thing as far as his level of inclusion? *shrug*

Personally, as someone who exclusively plays femSheps romancing him, I'd see it as a good thing if they focused on the romantic aspect of his character arc. But I know quite a few other people here who enjoy the bromance angle, so for their sake I hope they make a good friendship and a good romance arc. Without changing his character to try to make him more appealing to the kindergamers.

From the looks of this thread (and people I know irl), I'd say that there are quite a few guys that would enjoy more friendship dialog with mShep and Kaidan. Honestly, I don't think he's as unpopular and hated as people think he is (Jacob as well tbh).

That. Sounds. AWESOME.

On ME3 endings:  I just want the ability to have a have a rainbows and butterflies ending.  Forget the cheeziness factor, I think it should be an option.

As a person who has both bromanced and romanced Kaidan, and as a person who encountered the ME2 romance options, I would HATE for Kaidan to always have to do calibrations when a friend Shepard is trying to talk to him.
I think the dialogue should've been like ME1, where they are in-depth and have some of the same conversations, but there are differences in the convos.  But I hope BW doesn't go overboard with his development and takes him from humble bad*ss  to jerk bad*ss.

I like Jacob as a bro-dude. Just not as an LI. Although, "but the priiize," is hilarious it's just as disturbing.
Kaidan is perfect for bromance material too... He's just cool in every way. :innocent:

I'm really looking forward to ME3 but at the same time I will be really sad to see the trilogy come to a close. Even if Bioware makes more games in the ME universe, I'm going to miss my Shepard and Kaidan. I just started DA and I agree it's been a nice distraction but it doesn't compare to ME.

The fanfics DO help me get a little fix in the meantime, though. I'm so grateful for all of the talented writers we have here.

I hope that ME3 reverts to the same formula that they had in ME1 where there was an actual development of the relationship between Kaidan and Shepard. There was so much more interaction between the LIs. I did one ME2 playthrough where I romanced Garrus and I was disappointed. Their exchanges were short and he was usually too busy to talk to Shep. More dialog in between missions would really be welcome (Are you listening, Bioware!?) and I hope that they implement that.

Question, if there was one catchy phrase for the Virmire survivor, what would it be?
Something along the lines of "We haven't forgotten." or "You're not forgotten." you know? A line, slogan, phrase or whatever that can be used as a promo for Kaidan and Ash :)

I just hope that Bioware doesn't go down the same road as they have done before and introduce an entirely new crew and sideline everyone else from the previous two games.

Don't get me wrong, Bioware does create some of the best game characters, but they seem to have a problem with continuing with the characters they already have and giving them some actual character development.

If Kaidan gets another cameo role in ME3, because the new players might be confused who the hell this guy is ...

How about, "We Remember"?
It's focusing more on the positive rather than the negative.

I agree that while I like DA and Alistair (and Zev, too), I don't feel that connection to the Warden as much as I do to femShep.
And while I really like having so many pieces of dialogue with Alistair like you do, he doesn't compare to Kaidan.  Perhaps its the general life experience/maturity thing.  I don't want a puppy to housebreak.  Carth is the only character that compares to Kaidan for me.  I like men not boys.  Image IPB

I"m worried about ME3 in that we already have 9 (10 if you count Kelly) LI's on the books already.  BW wants to make each game stand alone, which might mean more choices.  Ugh.  Its not that I'm against that, just that it was painfully obvious that they probably have only a certain amount of time and money to put in to the romance angle of the game.  And whereas in ME1 it was divided amongst 3 characters and was full and meaningful, then in ME2 it was divided amongst 6 or 7 new characters--making it short and not satisfying.  And if they add more characters into the mix...  Image IPB

I feel more of a connection to my Warden but that may be because we are closer in age and she is not so professional as femshep is. I can't imagine being a 30-something marine,

And I'm worried too about all the LIs stretching the budget too thin. We are going to have less dialogue with Kaidan, it seems. And you know they are going to introduce at least some new characters into ME3 because they always do in new games. Geez, what was the point of all the new LIs? Ash, Kai and Liara were perfect as is. Although I do adore the Garrus romance ... I could have easily done without Thane and Jacob romancing.
